Dating - You don't have to do much as a woman. Literally just exist or present yourself on social media or dating apps or real life. Men will message you, set up dates, and lead everything early in the relationship and you simply have to decide if you like the man or not. As opposed to the average man who will mostly be ignored unless he puts in significant effort.

Academics and Work - Special scholarships and often privileges exist for women. The same thing usually does not exist or is frowned upon for men.

Hard Labor and/or War/Combat - Completely optional for women. If you want to be involved in it, you can. But you don't have to where it's mostly required for men and no one will be judgmental of a woman shying away from hard labor. In the US men must register for the draft at age 18, no such requirement exists for women. Hopefully there is no draft in the future, but men are the ones who have to register.

Reproductive Rights - I understand many women feel their rights are being infringed upon with abortion restrictions. I agree with them, but if all women voted for abortion freedom, there would be freedom. It happens because half of somewhat near that vote for it. As opposed to men.... who have absolutely no reproductive rights legally whatsoever. They have no right or say in whether a baby is born.

That's just some of it. In the past men were born with the dominant power structure privilege. But those days don't exist anymore in most western countries. It's drilled into women's brains these days that they're discriminated against and victims but in most areas of life that just isn't the case anymore.

If the US decided to allow FGM as a widespread practice, as long as it was performed in sterile medical offices, would you find it less barbaric and more acceptable? I wouldn't.

The majority of cases of FGM are actually fairly similar to MGM in terms of tissue removal. There are some more extreme cases of FGM, but that doesn't make the less extreme variant any more tolerable in our society.

And at least FGM is extremely illegal. MGM is widespread. Lots of evil women practice it and profit off of it. Any doctor who would mutilate babies belongs in prison for the rest of their lives, in my opinion.

I'd like to challenge you by asking why you aren't equally horrified by little babies having their genitals surgically mutilated, regardless of the gender? The specifics of the procedure or gender make very little difference to the baby, who is horrified and in unimaginable pain either way.

Women’s bodies also aren’t in their control in many states. There are stories of women dying because of pregnancy complications where they tried to get an abortion and were denied.

My point is that you have decision power over your body that men do not. You can decide "I'm not going to get pregnant" and take reasonable steps to avoid that happening.

Men cannot decide "I'm not going to have my genitals cut as a baby" or "I'm not going to register for the draft."

So who really has more bodily autonomy than who in this country?

Men experience sexual harassment and assault. The numbers are about 1 in every 7 men will experience in their lifetime vs 1 in 4 women. And no men, don't get pregnant, but if they do get a women pregnant, they have to pay and support that child for the next 18 years while women get to decide whether they want to even have the child. A choice men don't have. And it's all entirely a choice. A woman can choose not to have sex or use birth control.

Strange comparison. A man can be a NICU nurse and there an infinite amount of stress jobs that are majority men. Running into a fire is stressful.

Men do worry about at times. Saying they never consider it is ridiculous, you can simply look online for memes about women keying cars and being violent. Yes, a man could be stalked, harrassed or sexually assaulted by a woman but this is more likely to happen to a woman dealing with a man than to a man dealing with a woman in fact you admit as much citing stats and when you argued that men have a harder time dating to begin with. If men have a harder time, attracting women at all the risk of them being assaulted, stalked and raped by women is not going to be as high as it is for women.

So when somebody says well, women faced this problem and your response is, well men could face it too. That’s dumb that’s dumb because the point is that women face the problem more than men.

But we both acknowledge that while both men and women can experience both problems it’s not equal. That was the point of the conversation that men and women face different problems at different rates.

OK, and in a lot of ways, life is harder for women we get periods every month we have to go through pregnancy. We have to deliver babies very painfully then don’t go through any of that! In fact, women can actually struggle with dating women can face a lot of the problems that men face, even if it’s not at the same rate, but no man faces anything to do with periods and pregnancy and delivering babies they don’t face that at all so in a lot of ways, life is harder for women. And it’s very clear that men do take that for granted because they don’t seem to care about the risk that women face when dealing pregnancy. The reason it’s so easy for them to just wanna sleep with everybody is because they almost always get an orgasm and don’t face the risk of pregnancy. If sex meant orgasm and zero risk of pregnancy for me I’m sure I would be more lax about sex too! So men aren’t special and virtuous in their pursuit of pleasure that directly impacts women’s entire bodies, no their desire for women is mostly self indulgent.

Cardiovascular disease and cancer are not unique to men. Pregnancy and periods are unique to women.

Everyone who ever died in childbirth was a woman but not everyone who dies from a heart attack was a man.

Also there are plenty of diseases and illnesses that women face a higher risk of getting than men do because of estrogen and genetics. So even the concept of facing health issues due to sex hormones and genetics (XX vs XY) is not unique to men.

Pregnancy is a choice. It's not some requirement of life. I'll take the choice of whether or not to get pregnant over living a shorter lifespan. But that's men.

Pregnancy is not a choice. Pregnancy is a direct consequence of having sex for fertile women. Now a woman who is pregnant can choose to end the pregnancy—depending on where she lives and what the laws are—a woman can also choose not to have sex to avoid pregnancy, but you’re the one arguing that men “have it worse” because women actually do that. They choose not to have sex at times because they don’t want to get pregnant or they choose not to have sex with certain men because they don’t want those men to get them pregnant. You presented the fact that women are more selective about who they have sex with and more cautious about engaging in sex altogether as a “problem for men” because they are the ones who face the rejection. This shows that you are the one who takes things for granted. Because if you truly cared about the problems, women face that men do not face then it would make perfect sense to you why women are more cautious about sex compared to men. It’s completely rational and logical given the fact that they face the risk of pregnancy.

And I can’t believe you brought up lifespan again that’s not unique to men there are plenty of men who live longer than women it’s just an average and some of the things that cause men to die earlier than women are their own doing like the fact that they’re more likely to take risk and do drugs, it’s their own choice to do those things that are risky and caused them to die younger

Right, but men have higher rates of those things because they have more testosterone.

OK and women have higher rates of auto immune disease diseases because they have XX chromosomes.

Like I said, there are diseases and illnesses that women face at a higher risk because of estrogen and because of their genetics that’s not unique to men either.

Give us a break. This isn't 1800. Yes, pregnancy is a choice most of the time.

A woman can choose to be celibate or use birth control if they don't want to be pregnant.

Also women do choose those things, but you have an issue with it. You literally complained that women are difficult to date and have sex with. Yeah that’s because they are the ones who get pregnant. A solution to avoiding pregnancy is rejecting men who want to have sex with you.

And again, this is the year 2025, most women who get pregnant do not face life changing health consequences.

I suspect you know very little about pregnancy even a very “normal” pregnancy can have life-changing health consequences. Most women actually do face life-changing health consequences from even one pregnancy. MOST as in the majority. If you actually listen and speak to women who have had children, they will tell you that there are things about their body that are different now that will never go back because of pregnancy.

I think this will not end up being the gotcha you think.

Because that was a big part of my life, before marriage. I developed very late, as in my parents and pediatrician had referred me to a specialist to figure out why I wasn't maturing when I finally started to fill out and got my period at 16. So I sustained a lot of mockery at school for being undeveloped. "Titless" was actually one of the names I was called. Then I really filled out in a hurry and got all the opposite mocking, people saying that I couldn't possibly be smart or capable with tits like that.

And only twice before becoming engaged did I ever date men that carried the bill. I typically sought men I was interested in and we went Dutch. Mostly ate at home, really, or maybe a pizza by the slice. I didn't have much of a budget in those days. Anyhow, neither of the guys that were into fancy stuff really made sense to me, they didn't last and didn't get my pants off.

I've got two kids in high school and I think that flipping that script would be a great second choice for a world for them to grow up in, after having a button where it's neither side's business. Zero it out.

I wasted so much time and angst on insecurity and self doubt and fear, trying to minimize my body and worrying whether someone actually liked me as a person with a brain, or were they just trying to get into my pants. And developed a decade of way too complex relationship with my own sexuality around that - the world telling me that it wasn't ok to express my own sense of lust, else I'd be called a slut and used by opportunistic men.

It would be awesome to just remove that for my kids.
