I think it is pretty clear that most (certainly not all) TRP men consider a LTR with someone of value to be the best choice.

However, they also find it to be a unlikely scenario, thus they look for casual sex and non exclusive sexual relationships like FwB (not necessarily ONSs) as the more "reasonable" choice to satisfy their needs.

It doesn’t matter what men want, RP or not. What matters is that for at least three generations women were raised to think women suffer because of men. TRP isn't about defining what men want, it's about determining what men can get, and how to take advantage of the modern relationship. One RP man may want a low n-count traditional wife, but he clearly sees that he's not going to get it. So TRP tells him that he needs to change his mentality. He isn't going to get what he wants, so he needs to adapt. Don't get married, and start looking for the minimum that you can accept from woman, and that minimum is sex. Then, TRP gives that man pointers about how to get sex efficiently and effectively (ie. Getting a lot of sex, from attractive women, while giving those women the least that he can give them).

And the truth is, what does it matter what RP men want? Even in your post you ridicule men's desires to have a decent partner who contributes positively to his life.

But, I mean, I guess if I really think about it, RP men and men in general ,want choice. They want to be able to choose what they want, and have access to what they want based on that choice, which again, isn't dissimilar to what women already have. What these men want is an equilibrium in the SMP, they want equality in world that has removed any advantages that they could have enjoyed due to their gender in the name of that equality, but has not provided resolved the disadvantages that they face due to them being men.

But some of those men expect girlfriend treatment from plates and I think that’s where the frustration is seen and there’s confusion about what it is they are looking for. I don’t think most of the men on the RP boards wanting ONS are the same ones demanding virginal LTRs.

As maturity sets in, I believe that higher N count men/women are less stuck on their respective partner’s N count as an immediate fail/pass measure for entering into a committed relationship.

Lower N count / virginal men and women will still probably prefer someone with similar body counts, if they are “saving themselves” for the right person. I’ve had catholic female friends, who were virgins or at a sub 3 N count before getting married, and their view of higher N count men was not good.

It's not that simple, i.e. it's not a dichotomy of one or the other. What those men actually want is for women to view them as high-value enough to have their pick between the two lifestyles.

People often characterize relationships as something men "settle" for, but I think the harsh truth is that finding a genuinely stable and loving relationship with a quality woman isn't that much easier than getting a lot of causal sex. The same small subset of men seem to be preferable for both in the eyes of women. Desirable is desirable is desirable. The truism about women being the gatekeepers of sex, while men are the gatekeepers of commitment, just doesn't measure up to reality. Women are the gatekeepers of both by default. So, red-pill men want to increase their attractiveness, status and "alpha" levels to the point where they can do some of the gatekeeping too.

Depends on what I'm in the mood for but if I had to pick one it would be an LTR. I'm MGTOW though, so I would never marry but I don't have a lot of time for plate spinning and FWBs.

Well, as an older guy, I can't speak for the younger ones, but for me, it was a matter of which stage of life I happened to be in. There was a stage where I wanted lots fun, partying, sex and ONS's. However, as I got older, I reached a point where I wanted something more meaningful in life, and then I started looking for LTR's and higher quality women.

Sometimes a person's wants and needs can change greatly, over the course of their life. Sometimes you have to try something, or live life a certain way, for a certain period of time, to "get it out of your system", and decide that you want something else. Sometimes people just get tired of living a certain way, and want to try something different.

Some people divide their lives into "chapters" and reserve a few years to do this, and a few years to do that. When the chapter has ended, it's time to move on to the next thing.
