"Women love bad guys."

I've noticed in discussions arising from such classic statement many girls reply with the following argument:

"It's not we prefer bad men; it's just those types of men usually display more confidence, charisma and (insert any other quality) than good men."

I see women seem to think the above settles the whole controversy but, from my view, it only adds fuel to the fire.

The conclusion I draw is women seem to care little about the morality of their potential partners. It doesn't matter if the man treats others badly, if he shows no empathy, if he is a bully or even a criminal as long as he demonstrates confidence, charisma, strength and (insert any other masculine trait) then finding a partner won't be a problem for him.
Perhaps you can say these men hide their darkness when courting a woman. I can believe some are good at putting on and wearing a disguise but many others don't and it seems they still succeed.

So, back to the question, are morals important to you when choosing a mate?
