From what I have seen on this sub, it seems that a lot of men have a negative view towards sex, especially towards being the partner receiving penetration.

When they describe a woman having sex, instead of saying exactly that, they often use negative/violent sounding expressions such as “getting railed”, “getting their back blown out”, “getting destroyed/wrecked” etc. This also shows up in porn titles interestingly.

Even when a woman actively wants to have sex, they often phrase it in ways that imply it’s something bad for the woman that she allows rather than enjoys - a woman “giving it up” or “putting out”.

As a woman, this is such an odd way of looking at sex and I am curious where it is coming from. I never saw the act of penetration as submissive, degrading or in any way bad, which is why I am wondering how many men (and even women) arrive at this perspective/what are the reasonings behind it?

So my questions for men are:

(1) When you are having sex with someone, do you feel like you are doing something bad or degrading to them? If yes, why?

(2) Do you see receiving penetration as submissive? If yes why? (I am not saying submissive = bad btw)

(3) Do you feel like your partners are not enjoying sex and only allowing it for your sake?

(4) If you share the perspectives I described, where do you think it’s coming from? Is it conservative upbringing? Societal portrayal of sex in media? Porn? Or something else?

I am also curious about women’s perspectives since this is not an exclusively male view either. Feel free to share under automod.
