As is discussed a lot on here, most high earning women appear to desire men who also earn a lot of money and pull their weight in a relationship, yet the reverse isn't talked about as much.

For myself, I have I have a long list of goals I want to achieve and am currently working on my graduate education. I personally want a woman who has a career and ambitions, and I don't think it's feminine for a man to want that.

Apparently, there is the notion that most men don't care about a woman's career or level of education or ambition in life, and that caring about such a thing is soft, but I guarantee a large percentage of high earning men desire an educated woman who supports herself. I'm sure most lawyers, doctors, consultants, and other professionals do not find a pretty but financially struggling 25+ year old Denny's waitress to be a catch.

For a lot of high performing and educated men, opening themselves up to dating someone with no goals and who is financially struggling will open themselves up to being advantage of financially, the same way a career-driven woman would likely be taken advantage of dating a man with no education or drive.

Some women and men appear to have the perspective that as the man you are obligated to provide for a woman in a relationship, however I feel like a lot of educated, ambitious men would be turned off by this view. I know I am. If you are an adult, you are fully capable of supporting yourself, and the man should not have to pay for everything for you.

Now perhaps the fact I don't want to have children changes my view of this, as I would prefer a woman who is more goal-focused (hobbies/ career/ traveling) and does not just have a maternal drive.

Is the notion that men, especially high performing, ambitious men, don't put any importance in a woman's goals or education correct anymore? Is there truth to this? Do most men want the tradcon lifestyle?
