TERPS always talk about getting to know women like it’s some big chore.

Part of the appropriate expectations are that you'll have to do a lot of work to make the experience fun for both of you. To a large extant its going to be a one way interaction and you're going to have to do all the work. That's not always something you'll want to do. Honestly, its a bit like babysitting sometimes.

Honestly? Not really. And I am not saying this as a redpiller, but simply as a general observation:

Men do not like women, they have the hots for them. If men didn't have the hots for women, odds are that they wouldn't really like them - indifference is the most likely scenario.

(on the other hand: if men didn't have the hots for women, women would be more incentivized to actually be interesting and/or nicer, which in turn would lead to them being more likable.)

Well it has been suggested that much of TRP advice selects for a certain type of woman. That type of woman is generally not going to be particularly pleasant to engage with for anything other than sex. So I think it's possible that to some extent this is a problem that's overblown in their sphere in particular.

Additionally, it seems to me that a significant portion of TRP men are emotionally wounded and engaging in a lot of shenanigans just to protect themselves from opening up to genuine connection. Talking to women can sometimes accidentally lead to feelings of connection if one isn't quite diligent in maintaining their guard. How annoying. It would be much more convenient if women would just dole out the pussy without requiring all the hoop jumping.

The truth is that nothing is 100%. Men like women at times and dislike them at times. There is no constant and perpetual emotion that men have towards women as a group. Of course, how a man feels about a woman also depends on the woman; is she a nice person and easy to get on with or is she unpleasant and frustrating? It all depends.

I think men generally have mixed feelings about women. There are some parts about them that they like and other parts that they don’t like, just as I suspect the same is true the other way around.

I avoid nasty women as soon as they show their true colors. That would include radfems, sjdubs, PCers, women who use terms like patriarchy, toxic masculinity, male privilege, etc.

Most people are annoying to hang out with. If you take sex out of the equation then people just hang out with the small set of people they like. When you put sex back in then you have people hanging out with people they don't like in order to see if they might get sex.

The problem is that you really shouldn't hang out with people you don't like in order to get sex. You might as well simply hire someone in that case.

IMO: This applies equally to men and women.

Implicit in your question is an assumption that we're wasting your time, because somewhere out there is a man who won't be annoyed by you. Dismissing the simple problem that without sex, women are usually not interesting enough to warrant the attention and support they demand.

Restrict men to pair-bonded-only sex, and you drastically lower every woman's SMV. You might think you want to live in a world where we have to get to know you, but scarcity has a way of changing people's minds very quickly.

So just remember that whenever one of them says "men hate talking with women" or "men don't like to spend time with women" it actually only means "I don't like to spend time with women and I literally can't even imagine that other men don't see it as a chore".

Don't take what they say seriously. There are plenty of men out there who aren't misogynistic and who can enjoy spending time with women even without getting sex as a reimbursement.

The role you cast a person and what you want from thm heavily influence hwo you feel a bout them. You have different expectatyions from your mom, coworker, friend, or GF.

You cast someone in the role of possible GF, you want different things then what you want from just a friend. Just like you have different expectations from your boss then your coworker, or your sister from your mom.

You can be angry at your mom for acting like your sister. You can be angry at your boss for acting like a coworker and you can be angry at a girlfriend for acting like a frien.d.

The problem isnt the person, but the role you cast them in and your expectations for that role.

If you have a mom who doesnt act like a mom. As long as you dont cast her in the role of mother in your life and trate her more like a friend or sister, then she wont disappoint you as a mother.

Likewise if you cast a girl as the role of friend instead of GF then you wont be angry she does not like you.

But we all would pretty much rather (And for most people its rarer) to have an awesome boss and or SO; then an awesome cowrker or friend.

My regular bar buddies include quite a few women. Most of them are the wives of other bar buddies, and too old for me to be interested in sexually. Besides, my girlfriend is usually there, too!

I also do karaoke ~twice a week. I'm friendly with just about all of the women who regularly attend. As you can imagine, karaoke is pretty female-dominated. Personally, if there is nothing making you stick around other than the potential of sex, I think you’d should leave sooner rather than later and stop wasting both of your time.

This is assuming one of a couple different possibiilities.

One that the man cares about whether he's wasting her time or not. Spoiler: he probably doesn't give a shit if he doesn't like her to begin with.
Two that the man can get another potential sexual partner easily enough to do away with the one he is pursuing. If he can't then of course he's going to continue trying with this one. What else is he going to do? Just give up on sex?

If both of these assumptions are true, then ya, this statement makes sense. However in most of the cases where you have this kind of frustration, at least one of these assumptions is false, which leads to the frustration.

From my quite long staring into the abyss of men's and women's mutual emotional "liking", I'd say that there is a level of disdain that men, on average, tend to feel towards women.

Although, obviously, it fades and diminishes in comparison with pure poisonous disgust, hatred, and superiority complex that so many women feel to so many men.

Which probably answers the question "why". When a man sees that a woman perceives him as something on par with a slime-covered larva, he might view it as a challenge to prove himself.

Many people have already stated it, "most people don't like most people", which I think is generally true insofar as both we don't necessarily find most people engaging (owing to the massive complexity that is interpersonal chemistry) as well as only having a finite amount of attention and affection to give to those we consider more than acquaintances.

However, the male-female dynamic imposes, IMHOtep, further artificial restrictions on what we should care about or what isn't appropriate, or what have you. Men and women essentially are not "allowed" to like each other, because some people/groups COUGHCOUGH hammer it into the collective consciousness that the relationship between men and women is purely transactional. This leads to an unnatural awkwardness when men and women try to be frank and open with each other.

I'm not. I'm just a bit frustrated that so many women prove to be not worth getting to know. The best thing I learned from TRP is the concept of "next". If there is no spark and she's dull and boring don't waste another minute on her.

On the other hand if she's smart, interesting, and at least a little flirty getting to know her isn't a chore at all. Indeed it's quite fun. I had a coffee date Friday afternoon that was lots of fun -- we talked for so long we both got parking tickets.

I dislike female nature. I am capable of separating a woman from her personality when seeking sex. I am capable of caring for a woman and forming a friendship - a platonic bond between two humans - with her as an individual despite her female nature and doing the things a woman does that I dislike. I can appreciate both sex and friendship in the same woman but only as isolated qualities and incentives (FWB). As it stands I cannot care for and trust a woman in a LTR context.
