I reached out to this guy I had dated back in July. He seemed a bit cautious/distant in text messages, but I figured it made sense for the situation (I had ended things with him in July). He still asked to meet up though.

Our date also felt a bit off. We went over to my place because it was cold out and while he was really affectionate and we made out, again something felt off and I had him leave before things got too heated.

It’s funny When I lived in my parents house I was very liberal in terms of letting girls come back to the house. Pretty much if you were cute and DTF you could come over, I remember so many sleepovers in my late teens and earl to mid 20’s.

Just finished some interviews to hire new entry level engineers for our dept.

We had 2 people make it to the final round; 1 guy 1 girl. The girl had literally a 3.96 GPA and all sorts of academic achievement shit, dude had like a 3.0 GPA and much more of an average resume

Of course we ended up hiring the guy, because when it came to actually asking questions to gauge their enthusiasm and technical curiosity, the girl fell flat.

Trying to date is frustrating. I'm going to rant about it. Over the past few months, there's been 14 girls in particular who I talked to, all for at least a few hours minimum, and all who either said they liked me, said I'm a good guy and deserve to find a good girl, or agreed to go on a date with me. I think most of them think I'm at least halfway decently attractive too. For one reason or another, I've only actually met in person one of those girls. Mainly because they're too far away, or because they have some sort of mental stuff going on so they backed out of wanting to date. I don't want to be a "Nice Guy", but fuck is it frustrating to have girls actively describe me as a nice guy and say they like me, but then refuse to date. Many of these girls have high N counts and/or have dated stereotypical assholes, and at least two have gone on dates with that sort of stereotypical asshole guy(albeit, those two were probably the ones least interested in me).

One girl in particular who I liked the most, that I talked with for a long time and wrote some short stories for and invited to a group chat of good friends of mine(everyone was semi-random internet people tho so it's not too weird), I thought I had a good connection to. Fairly early on in talking, she agreed to a date, but then backed out because she felt she wasn't in a good mental state to date(and from discussions we had, that's really quite reasonable, she probably wasn't). But then she ghosts out of basically nowhere, although she still viewed my stories and I viewed hers. A month later she asks to be removed from the group chat. But I checked and she was still active on tinder, posting updated photos. The lack of closure of what's going through her head and what she really thinks of me is just very frustrating and saddening.

It's all very frustrating. I'm not really angry at any of the girls, unless they're lying to me about liking me and thinking I'm nice, deception is bad. I am just frustrated at the state of affairs that it feels like, going by blue pill strategy, I should be doing everything right but have relatively little success. And by red pill strategy, it's not that I don't want to work out, but well working out isn't easy, otherwise everyone would do it. It just makes me wonder if there's something I'm missing, if there's someway I could be an asshole or manipulative or something, that'd actually give me more success. Because when there's 13 girls I've gotten at least kind of close to dating, I feel like there must have been some way I could have done things differently to actually have gotten a date, or at least nudes. Because by blue pill, just asking for nudes from someone you're not in a relationship is rude, but I do like and want them. But I don't know the path to get them, yet somehow guys who are jerks have dating success.

That's my rant.

What even is toxic masculinity? It just seems like a catch phrase to encompass all male traits that people don't seem to like. What does PPD put in the term?

People say they want to be successful but never want to put in the work to get it, like they love finished product but not the journey. A classic example is like the Gym, I’m not like the rock but I’ve built up a nice physique. Me and one of my best friends have been going hard in the gym the last 4 years. I’ve been going to the gym since I was 20 but that was mostly casually Once a week. The last 4-5 years I’ve actually built a regimen that me and my friend do 3-4 times a week. I built my personal home gym this year so I don’t go to the public one anymore though.

Anyway Dudes will come up to me or my boy when we used to go exclusively to the public gyms and say shit like “damn bro, how’s you get like that, can I work out with you guys? I’d be like cool no problem.

90% of the guys would either flake on us, or when we set up the workouts would quit after the first or second session lol.

Despite 2020 being a global dumpster fire, its actually been a pretty good year for me. Stock market went brrrrrr and I'm $20k richer, weed is legal in Illinois, kept my job, got a raise, and transitioned to permanent WFH, used my time under lockdown to get my fitness cert. in Pilates, started a side gig with a studio filming online classes, boychild is happy and thriving despite remote schooling, finally got back into writing and got two poems published, and most importantly I got to spend a lot of quality time with my husband, like a second honeymoon of sorts.

Its the first time we spent a whole year together in a long while. Normally he'd be out on 6ish-12ish week tours here and there, but it definitely slowed down when we had boychild. Now I've had him for a whole year and we're like teens again.

Anyway, its weird having such a good year despite everyone else experiencing loss and suffering. I feel like there's a biblical lesson here, something about humility in fortune despite hell on earth. 🤷 I dunno, I never actually read the bible.

Over the last year, two of my friends found girlfriends.

Both of them were hoping for something longer term; and both of them got dumped within a month. They were both really surprised because they thought everything has been going very well.

The girls in both cases were pretty, 7-8 range, and of course total wrecks irl with shitty low paying jobs and mandatory drug habit and/or mental issues (Since you literally can't find any single girl over 20 without those anymore.)

This is how I know that men are NOT the problem. We're at a point that young women are no longer capable of being in committed relationships. They see cute boy, they fuck him, feel trapped, and then they're off to their next adventure.

And we're fucking wasting our time discussing why incels fail at life. You know, the engineers that went to college and got good jobs, but somehow considered not good enough to even talk to by the dumb cunts that work minimum wage jobs.

I think it’s like plastic surgery. Over the last 20 years As it’s gotten cheaper more available and the social stigma has lessened way more people get it now. I have lately seen a couple of anecdotes drawn from commenters' experiences growing up in conservative Christian circles. Here is another one in that vein, on the topic of the way that women deal with rejection.

It's pretty well-known that women hate hate hate being rejected. This was described in the Bible via the story of Potiphar's wife, who invented a false rape accusation after Joseph wouldn't sleep with her (what, you didn't know the Bible contains a false rape accusation?), and Shakespeare nailed it when he wrote that hell hath no fury like that of a woman scorned. It turns out that women have not changed.

When I was younger, I found myself, on occasion, in scenarios wherein a woman was interested in me, but I did not or would not reciprocate, because I knew she did not share my Christian background. In autistic fashion, I would have thought that it would be sufficient to describe this difference in worldview to her, and that she would easily accept this reasoning, and move on. I was wrong.

Much of this has to do with projection, I believe. What I mean is this: women often play "hard to get", withholding sex and so forth, at the beginning of a relationship, because they wish to avoid being seen as "easy". If you, as a man, refuse to reciprocate her obvious interest, she will project and assume that you are simply playing "hard to get" in the manner that she would do. She will keep flirting, expecting that you will eventually succumb to this - the same as she would.

If and when she finds out that this is not what the man is about, and that he genuinely rejects her on grounds of religious/worldview incompatibility, she is likely to become angry, especially if the man communicated this poorly (read: autistically), and left her feeling that a) he thinks he is "too good" for her, and b) ESPECIALLY if he left her with the interpretation that he thinks she's a slut. It's hard to say what angers a woman more: rejection, or slut-labeling.

The point of this story, for young men, is, that if you think you are going be in a position of having to reject a woman for whatever reason, you must learn to do it artfully, in a way that lets her down easy and does not insult her. Otherwise she may make some effort to retaliate!

Read a story about a man asking his daughter who he's never seen, contacted before or helped, to visit him and check whether she or her children could donate a bone marrow to him. She refused and got bombarded with messages from his other children and relatives saying that "he's your father" and other shit like that. After a few months they stopped, probably just because he died.

I'm curious why some people think that they can use their children without ever been there for them. And there are tons of stories like this, usually about fathers as there are less mothers completely abandoning their children. Although I know some, almost all of them are addicts.

I was arguing on another post that makeup can't significantly change woman's attractiveness in real life, because anything heavy enough to completely change her face would also look really obvious. I used this pic as an example because to me she looks almost exactly the same in both pics despite wearing makeup on the right. However I was informed by a few men the right is a full +2 over the left.

It seems crazy to me that simply wearing mascara and putting your hair down could boost someone's attractiveness by that much.

I feel using celebrities as examples of atypical men that are considered attractive is foolish. Celebrity worship is a huge element of most cultures, and I'd bet them being viewed as desirable has a lot more to do with wanting to vicariously experience their social status than actual lust. It's understandable why they're used, since if you brought up some rando, you'd get jokes about how everybody knows a pudgy 5'0" dude who slays, but that I still think they're not a good illustrative example. Especially considering how the level of attention they receive still follows typical trends.

We need a new PPD subreddit. These amorphous and capricious rules about what is "incel" content and in fact the whole ban on incel content has drastically reduced the relevance of PPD. You can't even know what men's names you can't mention because somehow it's been added to the "incel" content ban. And it's only men. There's no woman's name that women can bring up that would be listed as incel content. I used to believe that everybody should pull themselves up by the bootstraps and stop complaining about poverty and other unfavorable conditions. That was until I saw myself out of college and working a minimum-wage job for almost three years. I eventually managed to solve my situation, but I have to admit that I relied on my family, my partner and the government to finally stand up on my own. This made me realize that those deep in poverty are unlikely to make it without external help unless other conditions are favorable. This made me move further away from the right.
