The answer to how men expect women to act is very simple, BE CONSISTENT. Its not so much everyone or no one, but that an individual woman is always or never. Of course I would say a perfect world would be that she be inconsistent in my favor and do whatever I want, but that's not the real life expectation.

Take the standard complaint from TRP, AFBB. Some woman enjoys AF casual sex? Great. Other women decide to have BB relationships instead? Also great choice. The real issue with female non-monogamy in a relationship is who's kid is it? If a woman is monogamous but the guy isn't they both still know the kid is his, if both are non-monogamous they don't.

They promised to be loyal, broke the promise, lied because they knew they are breaking a commitment they made, and then looked for excuses. Men and women who really need something outside the relationship must take the risk themselves - either leave and risk not finding another love (yes, it happens to millions) or tell your lover that you have this need and risk that they will not agree and then might leave you. Your drives - your risks. Anything else is cruel and deceitful.

The second, individual, advantage is that you can accurately identify your children and pour resources into their survival and future thriving. He might spread his genetic material, but not be able to help prepare them for life.

The male imperative is ,as you said, polygyny. We want the sexual exclusivity of at least one woman and sexual access to infinite women.

What if women decided you didn’t have to commit? I think men would love that until they realize it means women will not have to commit either.

I think this statement has not aged well thus far and will continue to not age well.

Commitment is a compromise that (desirable) men give to women, not the other way around. Women naturally want to commit to a desirable man.
