You know, I'm starting to be more and more glad I live in Eastern Europe. People here are pretty conservative, traditional, some misogynistic and racist, which sucks, but the later two are becoming less and less acceptable and prevalent by the day as the trends of today aren't passing us by either. I took gender studies classes in college.

I called out every one of the sexist arguments and got an A. This is largely because I explained in painstaking detail what the feminist argument was-accurately per the reading-and how it was wrong.

The teacher even said I made great arguments but she just couldn't get behind changing her mind yet.

These "students" either had very close minded teachers or they just went in with their own sexist beliefs, only saw what they wanted to see, and just hide behind being a student to justify to their bigotry.

Almost every woman in my life from my mother, to my friends, and my gf have all been assaulted and some even the victims of sexually motivated violence. I actually respect gender studies, a lot of the people who founded the men's rights movement studied gender studies.

And sociology has actually done good research (it's just unfortunate that we leave acting on said research to dimwited politicians).

I just think it's a shame that colleges are so eager to buster their numbers in the less cared about studies that they'd let people expouse such blatant hate and claim it has any sort of acidemic backing without repercussion, it clearly doesn't, even if you look at the (extremely biased) studies they themselves put forth you'll see that many of their claims are unsubstantiated.
