Like 90% of the "players" I've known were in actuality just regular dudes dating casually who just had standards for who they commit to. Even when I see fuckboy type scenarios in dating subs good chunk of the time the dude winds up with a girlfriend who just isn't OP not long after, but calling him a fuckboy sounds nicer than the reality that he's willing to commit, just not to her.

TBH I'm torn between thinking there is some mild judgement to thnking to thinking some people don't care. I've slept with hundreds and hundreds of women, I put it at maybe 300+. I haven't told a single soul other than my GF that fact IRL. I don't think the frequency of women I've slept with has had any effect on people's perception of me. When I used to be involved in polyamory/swinging, it didn't really have much effect there except the occasional guy who assumed I had a lot of success due to the way I looked. I used to use one of those online platforms where people could rate their "experience" with you in that community. I had 150+ "reviews" and I actually think it hindered women's perception of me. And that's swinging.

I won't pretend as if its not completely ignored. I see a celebrity like Pete Davidson whose status seems to be entirely built on the women he's been with, but then I also see someone like DiCaprio who seeming "preference" for models below 25 is largely treated with derision and disgust. I think, in reality, it is a law of diminishing returns. Below 30? 28 even? Yeah sleeping around is seen as cool among some younger guys, but people here really have no idea how much building a stable and fruitful relationship with a respectable woman is a big deal to people and has a massive effect on a mans image as he moves into his 30s and middle age.

There is a double standard for male and female promiscuity. I think it is rooted in biology and there is justification for it, but only for a difference within limits.

Ultimately, excessive promiscuity damages people of either gender. What constitutes 'excessive', and how much damage, depends a lot on cultural and individual context.

Actually "fuckboy" is different from "fuckboi". 'Y' is similar to "boytoy" or "manthing" like a noun, the 'I' is a derogatory slur used by women to humiliate a man. I don't even think the man in question has to have sex with a bunch of women in order to have the slur put on him.

But back to stud. I think a comedian said it best: Woman are called "sloots & whores" because they don't need to do anything but exist in order to get sex. Men on the other hand have to do everything in their power in order to get sex.

"Stud" is the title gained for, not necessarily having alot of sex, but by having a status, physique, reputation that women desire to have sex with you.

The only time I’ve heard someone literally use the term stud though was my old drill sergeant and it was in reference to strength. Men definitely admire other men for getting lots of sex though. It’s also why “you look like you get no pussy” is a common insult for men and why “you look like you get pussy” or “he fucks” are compliments. These compliments and insults are akin to calling a woman ugly vs pretty. It’s not made up at all it’s just so normalized that you probably don’t notice. Men here are always talking about how it’s a good thing for a man to sleep around, but not for a woman. So at least some men definitely respect guys who sleep around more. A lot of women don’t trust these men if they know, but lying and manipulation is kind of their whole shtick. To understand why unmarried, promiscuous men, are considered "studs", or successful, we have to compare it to the alternative.

Unless a guy finds a beautiful, young bride, who is a virgin, or who has a very low N count (like 1-2), and marries her, he is going to looked at as a guy who settled. He married "down". Virtually every guy marries down in terms of quality--they end up with 30 year old wives who have big N counts, limited fertility, debt, etc.
Most men feel disappointment, buyer's remorse, and regret, over their marital choices. As a man grows older and becomes more successful and desirable, he looks at his aging wife, who is basically an expense, and wishes he could go back in time. He knows he wasn't his wife's "first choice", that he has Chad's leftovers, that he married the girl mom told him not to marry, and feels an impulse to cheat.
The "stud" guy is like a Leonardo DiCaprio, who simply dates 22 year old chicks for a time, and then kicks them to the curb. The stud guy doesn't get roped into bad arrangements, lets himself be manipulated into LTRs, and looks at women as playthings or toys: unreliable, depreciating, etc. The stud is under no illusions why the young hottie is with him. It isn't because of his character, potential as a father or spouse, or his intellect.

Not saying any of this is right. This is the consequence of living in a gynocentric playground world of unbridled hypergamy. It would be nice to go back to a time when women looked for husbands and fathers, and guys were valued.

The only people that celebrate a guy getting laid a ton.... Is his friends. His friends will celebrate him doing so, if they watched him struggle to being proficient. Men in general love an underdog story. Sexual success is an issue most men can relate to as most have faced rejection/failure from trying to be sexually successful. Only people who approach and take active initiatives can understand that.

Yes, because there's a difference between guys who can get laid a lot naturally and guys who have to put in tons of conscious effort. The latter come across as try-hards and that turns people off.

Same with the term "fuckboy". I don't think the derogatory part of that word is that it refers to someone who hooks up with a lot of women (or who attempts to). It's derogatory because it highlights the amount of effort that guy has to put in.
