I used to. Then I realized that the only person standing in her way was me. I decided to get better (no, I'm not fat but I wanted to have a really good body, reaching an athletic body is my goal, I'm still working on it) and mentally (therapy).

I found someone this year (I won't talk too soon but I'm happy)

I took some time while I was single to read through the rules on FDS before I started dating again. Some of the rules are golden - FDS really did teach me about the importance of not settling and not tolerating disrespectful and abusive behavior. I do have to thank the core message of FDS because I am in a happy and healthy relationship now.

Some of the advice is pretty dumb though, particularly the "don't accept coffee/walk in the park first-dates". I would be so uncomfortable on a dinner first-date with a stranger. IMO the first date is just a red flag screening test.

No. Seemed like advice for women with zero boundaries, zero commonsense, zero social intelligence, zero people skills, and expectations in the gutter.

Many of the posts that I read were painfully inept and most of those women seriously seemed too deficient to date.

Those women would literally detail legitimate abuse with a man that they had barely seen and seriously ask whether or not to continue seeing the man. The lack of self preservation those women had meant that they were a danger to themselves and more than likely others around them.

It seems to be dating advice for women who are starting at ground zero and have absolutely no dating wherewithal.

I'm not that incompetent. I don't have an issue dating or attracting men. I have an issue finding childfree men that don't want to get married. FDS is of no use to me.

I used to follow it. A lot of it is a good wakeup call for women who are lacking boundaries and have no idea just how badly they’re being treated. However, I don’t think regularly participating there is great for one’s mental health. And I never quite got on board with the focus on money. Like I agree that not being able to support oneself is a red flag, and a man being really stingy and unwilling to spend any money on dates is too. But some of the posts were pretty ridiculously materialistic imo.

I did until they went completely off-rail about a year or two ago.

The initial advice was great - set standards and boundaries, enforce them, become the best version of yourself you can be and only date men who meet your standards.

Then the b4n-w4ve happened, and a bunch of original mods got swept up in that due to their involvement in other subs that got banned.

Then FDS caught some young, idiot, lib-fem mods that had no idea what they were doing. Suddenly it was full of trashy soft-core man porn, racism, ageism, etc and utterly rejected it’s own founding values. I got banned, but not before I called them out on their hypocrisy and trashy, low-value garbage behavior.

The original tenets were good. Be the best version of you. Be enough without a man. When you are sufficient alone, you’ll attract the right kind of (high value) men and then you can vet them for your personal taste, or you will at least be happy with a genuinely full and satisfying single life.

Instead, they went ‘if you can’t beat them, join them’ and started posting soft porn of young men to the mod’s own juvenile, narrow, cheap taste as some sort of ‘warning’ to men that they needed to meet ridiculous ‘beauty’ standards to be considered HV. Absolute rot.

We called them out, and women left and got banned in droves. It was a real turning point, because they fucked themselves. No one takes them seriously anymore. They’re like 16yo RP mirror images.

FDS was supposed to be about, and was initially, working on yourself first and foremost, with a view that if you did and were able to consistently show up in your own life as a high value woman, with the best education you could access, and the best job you could secure with your skills, and in the best physical shape you could be for your age and resources, then that was all the reward you’d ever need, because you’d be fulfilled, and surrounded by good friends and family.

The extra boost was, that commitment to your own life would also ensure that amongst the usual scum, high value men would also emerge to seek your attention, and with good vetting, you had a better chance of securing a good guy who had a decent job, good relationships with family and friends, took care of his personal hygiene, worked out, avoided vices like drugs, alcohol and porn, and could reciprocally recognize the value a decent woman could bring to his life.

What FDS became, was a seething cesspit of young, trashy women who felt entitled to being kept by rich men, but offered nothing in return and in doing so kept feeding busted ideologies about what women want and what they’ll do for money/status.

Where FDS should have gone is down their original path. Work on yourself and life will be much more enjoyable regardless of whether you’re partnered or not. Be the best version of you and you’ll meet better quality men, who you can vet to your taste.

The old adage goes that it’s easier to get a job if you have a job. It’s also easier to get the job you want if you dress and behave like it’s yours. I’m not advocating for infidelity, just suggesting that if you want the status of ‘high value wife’ married to a successful, monogamous, intelligent, clean, attractive man with no interest in porn or gaming and a healthy range of sporting and other real life interests, you’re not going to get there by being a whiny, control freak, entitled, Insta addict with five thirst trap accounts and an obsession with brow bars, injectables and fake nails.

Sure, some guys go for that look, but only because it’s pornified. So you want some guy to maintain your fake-ass image, you need to accept he likes it because he’s been conditioned to like it by porn. High value men are defined by high value women, but too many women have bought into RP men’s ideals of what makes them HV. Virginity, youth and high maintenance beauty routines do not make a woman valuable, so FDS is just playing into RP nonsense by making that the objective.

I got so tired of the ‘my boyfriend pays for my nails’ posts. It’s literally an ad that your bf is porn sick. Most men aren’t remotely interested in that shit for anything beyond a quick porny fuck. For an LTR, they’re interested in a woman who can better herself within the range of what’s realistic for her age, occupation, spare time and budget, and they will value a gym membership over fake nails any day.

Most HV men who want children know their partner will contribute 50% of the DNA to each child. You don’t get to pick which 50% they get. That means if the men themselves are smart but unattractive and they pick a pretty but intellectually inferior partner, they risk having stupid AND ugly kids.

I’ve never met an intelligent man who wished his kids were pretty more than they were smart. HV men will pick a partner who is close to their own intelligence, drive, ambition and looks. She might be more agreeable to put her career on hold to have his kids, but she’ll channel that energy into the kids, or home renos, or gardening. If she channels it into her nails and makeup and plastic surgery, and hair, and her Insta-image, they’re destined for divorce.

HV women, true HV women exhibit qualities of self-sufficiency, self-care, ambition and self-control, and are able to balance those things with what a HV man offers. HV women want men who exhibit those same characteristics and they can then set about putting them in balance. A HV woman won’t want a man who follows thirst traps on Instagram, but by the same logic, a HV man will not want a woman who runs a thirst trap account. A HV woman doesn’t want a guy who spends hours gaming, but a HV man doesn’t want a woman engaged in pointless pursuits either.

This is where FDS got it wrong. They want to post porn of men and shame those who don’t confirm to their narrow, juvenile ideal. They promote women having expensive and unnecessary beauty regimens that reinforce patriarchal misogyny, and expect the men to pay for that, but reserve the right to complain about it even when they do. Most women who have children will instantly lose interest in keeping fake nails, and any woman who raises a sweat at the gym should be questioning the lunacy of minky lash extensions. I mean, seriously, WTF?? Get extensions and stuff for a special event, but the expectation of fake shit is not HV, it’s trashy as hell.

Eat well. Save. Plan. Invest in an education. Read extensively and travel if you can. Exercise routinely. Drink plenty of water and sleep well. Take all prescribed medication daily with vigilance, and have regular reviews of dosage and brand. Limit alcohol intake. Take supplements you think will help, but discuss with your doc. Engage in therapy - almost all of us can benefit from it if you see someone properly qualified. Take ownership of your choices. Don’t lie. Be accountable. Show up in your life.

None of this shit is hard. People make it unnecessarily so. Lies and gaslighting are harder, because they require a level of vigilance that honesty does not. Be a good person, attract a good person. Reject people who show you they aren’t good.

I’m married so wouldn’t follow it anyway but I have seen a few good posts but a lot of it was really toxic and I saw some straight up misandry. I wouldn’t recommend any young women follow it for dating advice - it could be really hard to filter out some actually well meaning advice to just straight men hating. There are plenty of other women centric places on the internet that have a much healthier outlook.

I was never a subscriber, but I did browse there before the sub kinda went dead due to their migration. I love their takes on certain issues (porn/prostitution, BDSM, poly, forever-gf situationships, other common red flags that crop up in shady dudes, etc.) but they're extremists in other areas (too focused on salary, holding some double standards, misandric, etc.) so I definitely don't identify with them apart from the specific topics I agree with them on. As for my own love life, I'm happily married. I don't read this stuff for relationship reasons; I just find it refreshing to see others call out certain toxicities society normalizes that I've been calling out for years. I just wish they didn't wreck it with their toxic extremism in other areas.

I came here from FDS. We had a good core group of us higher ups, chatted in back channel. What I’ve recognized is we all come from different walks of life, have our own shit to deal with. I joined FDS to help women in abusive situations or with self worth issues. Esp for those women post-Red pill man. I could relate at the ripe old age of 35 figuring out a bad relationship where he quoted directly from the TRP manual (the saving private Ryan example is coming to mind). I married young, was the breadwinner and got F’ed in divorce court, I am the “exception?”. I’m the end, no where in the FDS manual does it talk about how men are lesser beings vs women being the oldest teenager in the room. Doesn’t tell you how to apply mind games like dread which have been adopted and repurposed from PUA manuals originally published 50+ yrs ago. I think FDS was a safe haven for women who needed it. I would admit over the last year there was more man bashing episodes. I would imagine they went private to avoid being quarantined. Perhaps liken to the trp anger stage, I dunno. Either way it’s not productive to place people in boxes. I have certainly been grouped into the “well you’re FDS” from the red pillars in this group. So it goes. Oh! And I’m coupled up with my partner/boyfriend/husband/ex husband now and we just had a beautiful baby boy 7 mos ago. People can change and grow. Any radicalized ideal people can’t change or come together again I can never support cause I’m living proof it can happen. FDS would probably tell me I’m crazy, but what matters is what’s right for me, what’s right for you in the end. He tells me he loves the new parts of me that expresses more of myself and honestly I can thank my FDS sisters in part for that.

I used to follow for shits and giggles. They kicked me out cause I was subbed to the BDSM sub, which is something I practice. Most the women over at FDS were/are radical feminists, while I'm more of a very liberal egalitarian, so our values clash entirely. I'm all about equality when it comes to dating, so I'm all for splitting the bill and all that jazz- or we each pay for our own shit. A lot of the advice was also targeted at how to secure a HVM aka a traditional man who can provide for you (being a SAHM) and your future kids. I'm a childfree woman who don't want kids and I provide for myself so I don't really have any need to date a traditional man at all, making the advice moot. Also the justification for men paying the dates was that women spend more time dressing up - well, I'm a woman who don't wear dresses or makeup or do my hair, so that's also a moot point in my case. To dates I wear jeans, graphic tank tops and my slick joker hair (not joking).

A lot of the FDS advice was just straight up useless for me, other than for entertainment. The only good advice was setting boundaries for what's acceptable or not, but FDS's opinion on what's good boundaries were entirely different from mine. According to them you shouldn't fuck on the first date. I enjoy sex, so of course I'm gonna fuck on the first date if I feel like it.

Now this question was probably not targeted at me lol. Anyway, my dating life sucks, but I currently am staying at my parents on a farm in the mountains out in the countryside. There's no men here, and definitely no childfree vegetarian men here. Other than that, I don't struggle to get dates. I just struggle to get dates with guys with the same interests at me. I attract a lot of dudes who wants kids and who are not compatible with me which sucks. I also attract some weird ass men. Granted I'm a bit strange myself. But yeah I attract men in Santa suits and love bombers, as well as fuckboys. Yippey yay.

I think it helps women who really struggled to maintain basic boundaries. I’m actually really happy that a space like that exists because other “female” spaces still pander to men. Men hate it because women are big meanies and aren’t fake nice and “balanced”. It’s a good place to be when you’re in the angry phase but I think it can be unrealistic for women who are average looking and working class. High quality men, especially in places like the U.K. take looks and class very seriously so you’re not going to get a high quality men just because you’re a “queen”. More needs to be done in promoting self improvement. But I think it’s a very good starting point to counter the awful “blue pill” advice that women always get (sleep with men before commitment, pay 50/50, be a “cool” girl).

I never followed anything, but I was an active lurker, I visited the sub everyday to see the videos and screenshots of comments where male exposed themselves.

Now I see and accept males for what they truly are. I'm not even angry and disgusted when I see them sexually harrasing teenagers. They're just males, that's it.

I will be forever thankful with that sub because it opened my eyes and now that I know what males really are and what they really want, my libido totally disappeared, I don't get excited if I see a good looking male anymore, I'm completely free of any sexual attraction and any idea of wanting a relationship.

I really had no idea my life could be this peaceful and quiet. Thank you so so much FDS.

I like FDS as it’s refreshing to be in women’s spaces, air grievances or frustrations and hear different dating perspectives.

I’m not necessarily interested in dating or need help as it’s not yet a priority but it’s nice to read posts on celibacy, critiques of porn/sex positive culture, block/deleting guys and many other topics plus remind myself of the importance of boundaries and avoiding crappy relationships.

While I’m very critical of some the posts, overall it added value, despite not posting or commenting on anything. The FDS level up sub was a fantastic resource though.

I do and I'm pretty successful. I'm not even like an 8 or 9. being funny has really helped me, too imo. However, I don't believe in EVERYTHING they talk about. Like I don't care if the first dates a coffee date, and Idc what a guy does for a living or if he's poor. The subreddit has basically just helped me weed out the guys that I'm not compatible with, and it's helped me be able to turn down men nicely and appropriately despite most people believing everyone on FDS is just automatically a cunt when it comes to saying no.

I don't read too much into it, but I do agree with SOME stuff that they talk about. Like I don't like man children, but the same could be said about women. Nobody likes childish women who don't have necessary life skills like cooking and driving.

It's taught me how to carry myself more like a lady and less like an art hoe tramp like I used to come off as. I mean I still got dyed hair and an unconventional fashion, but y'know. +10 modesty points yay.

My favorite thing I've learned, though, is how to be more direct and to the point when it comes to discussions. I don't play dumb, and i am clear in conversation now in a way where everyone feels validated and heard without being out down. Nobody is left wondering about important details that need to be known that could affect ones decision to date me or not. I have flaws and baggage, too. No need to lie or catfish about it.

Also it helps that I smell good and take care of my hair,makeup,and style well. 🤷🥳

I never had a personal use for the subreddit, but I agree with their sex essentialist views and undertones. Essentially, there is a male and then there is a female. And sometimes an intersex. And there exists distinctions between males and females that make a difference and they should be examined, but I diverge where these differences do not nullify the large amount of similarities either.

I find all the content outside of sex essentialism to be mostly irrelevant, a bunch of "how I feel today"/personal experiences and uninformative unless you believe firmly in the utility of the concept of "genders" outside of a sex essentialist view, which I do not, so never had a use of it. I will keep it mostly brief since sex essentialist views are usually banned off Reddit.

Some rules didn’t apply to me but the ones that did helped me develop healthy boundaries and put a vocabulary to why certain things made me uncomfortable.

I’ve been with my current SO for over a year now and it’s the healthiest, most fulfilling relationship I’ve ever been in.

One thing I agree with FDS on is not lowering my standards. I have many times and every single time I got burned. I gave the broke guy a chance, he ran my bank account dry. I gave the ugly a chance then he ghosted me. And then guys have the audacity to tell me to vouch better. So now I will never lower my standards.

My biggest issue I have with FDS is the same issue I have with MGTOW. Everyone is entitled and no one wants to put in the work to find the right partner. Everyone just wants to complain. They preach that they hate the other sex yet spend so much time talking about said sex.

This will sound crazy but the only guy I can kind of listen to was Kevin Samuels (RIP). I really hated how he talked about black women but he did preach accountability for BOTH genders. The end goal to him was for both people to be together. I’m unsure what end goal is for FDS/MGTOW. They don’t talk about how to find the right one but how to use each other as resources

Never followed FDS. My personal philosophy is to treat every guy as an individual, be honest, and pull my weight. When I was on the dating apps, my goal was to find a relationship, so I knew that I had to limit my attention to men who had a similar mindset. I purposefully made sure that none of my pictures were filtered or edited because if I were to show up on a first date looking nothing like my pictures, I have already been dishonest to my date. As a sidebar, I never understood why anyone would filter pictures if they are looking for a relationship. You’re going to have to show your true face eventually.

I made sure that I filled out my profile and that I included plenty of my interests. Similarly, I only swiped right on guys who had completed profiles. Blank/low-effort profiles were immediate left swipes without exception.

I approached each guy as an individual. A mistake I think a lot of women make is that they project their bad experience with a man onto all men (e.g - men are trash types). But just because one guy might have wronged you doesn’t mean that the next one will. Approach with an open mind. You are not obligated to commit to anything.

I made a point of always offering to pay. Most guys insisted on paying, but a few went dutch or let me buy a round of drinks. I did this because I know that a lot of guys have been taken advantage of and used as meal tickets. This is my way of signaling that I am here for them and not their wallet. I should note here that I know many on this page will roll their eyes at this one. In my case, I embody many of the traits that RP does not like in women. I own my own business. I almost certainly will out-earn a date, I’m overeducated, put career first, etc. I don’t need to play that whole game. All I need in a partner is someone who will pull his weight.

So what did this all get me? I went on dates with about seven men. They were all fantastic people. My boyfriend of three years was one of them. The rest just weren’t fits with my life, but we had none of the bs. I parted ways on good terms with all of them.

So don’t play the games. The stupid games only get you stupid prizes.

I followed FDS for some time. It's all good until you start insisting on what you deserve. For example, idk what I'd do if a guy asked me to split the bill, but it's never happened so far in dating. If it were to happen, I'd split the bill uneventfully and go my merry way.

In relationships we split as much as we can, of course.

What FDS needs is to chill, and most guys don't wanna deal with angry women who want to be treated like queens while treating them as replaceable peasants. It just doesn't work that way.

BUT establishing boundaries and having standards is so so so important, and I'm extremely glad they're keen on keeping them secured and high. So many women would escape abuse if they just followed some FDS.!!!!!

What I do have to say is that FDS helped me shake off my insecurities and helped me focus on myself. It did make me more reactive to misogyny, tho.

What kind of man did I get? The most beautiful, amazing man I could have wished for. It's like he was tailored specifically for me. Was it all thanks to FDS? Well, no. As I said, FDS needs a bit of chill (except when calling out misogyny).

Also, I absolutely disagree with "no sex until commitment". I NEED to know if we're sexually compatible before committing. I'd be so mad if I vouched for abstinence only to get a micro peen the guy doesn't even know how to use.

I’m banned bc a girl said men not liking cats can often be a sign that he’s abusive. I argued back and forth with her for a while and got banned out of no where lol. I think there’s a rule that you can’t invalidate someone like that or something. I thought her take was wild though hahaha

I followed the sub until the soft banned me for following r/nicegirls. Some of them have the right idea. Don’t settle for less than you deserve (ie, don’t settle for someone who puts you down or is abusive, don’t settle someone who makes you feel ugly or worthless, etc). Some men are just out for a quick fuck, so you have to be careful of any man who says they’d consider a relationship but is really adamant about fucking on the first date. Stuff like that.

Some of it is terrible. Talking about some “red flags” in men that just aren’t right, like “if your man ever gets mad at you, that leads to abuse”. They genuinely believe they are ALWAYS right, which is toxic as hell. If I actually followed their advice, my dating life would be much worse. Also, one time I argued with someone on there who was like “All women want men with massive dicks and anyone who says otherwise is a pick me girl lying to make you feel better”. I personally think that bigger≠better. When a dick is too big, I can’t imagine it doesn’t hurt. Average size is perfect for me. She told me I was wrong… about my own body and experiences.

Honestly FDS is just TRP/MGTOW for women. They would never admit it, but they know it’s true.

i sorta hate lurked there for a while, just looking for the ridiculous stuff.

i see a limited value in it for people with really unhealthy relationship habits and zero boundaries. but like any other echo chamber, the tame and reasonable takes are almost always overshadowed by insane ones.

i don’t think it’s particularly healthy to try and establish a relationship with that level of paranoia, either. those women really do not give any man even a sliver of grace.

Nope and I still really don’t know a thing about it. I’ve been in an LTR but if we were to break up or him die, I would never employ any sort of dating strategy. If my true personality can’t get someone it’s not meant to be. Using some sort of cheat code to me isn’t authentic.

No, because they kind of seem like the equivalent to the toxic aspects of red pill that try to game the system to manipulate women. It seems like both sides are the leftovers that have to resort to strategy lol.

I follow the blue pill advice for myself “if you just be yourself and just live life you’ll meet someone” and I met good people. However I also acknowledge that it’s not that easy for some folks.

I tend to attract cute nerdy guys. I am often to aggressor though and I have not encountered the men don’t like women who are forward phenomena.

I follow FDS, a little less since they moved but still keep up with it. I treat it like I do anything else and take the good parts and leave the bad. I don't agree with them blindly, but the things I have found useful were life-changing.

RP likes to pretend FDS is all about taking and giving nothing back, but that's simply not true. When it was accessible in the sub, the handbook was damn near entirely about becoming better emotionally, physically, financially, career-wise. The emphasis was on making yourself healthy so you didn't settle in an attempt to fill a gap, and to be in a place where you were fine being on your own if the man you met isn't right for you.

Following all this did wonders for my dating life, when I did date it was far better quality guys than I'd ever dated(or married) previously. Maybe in a way it worked too well, because the dating sites became exhausting, and I decided to just take a break and enjoy my life. I'm socializing more, and if I meet someone great, but if not I love the life I have now, and I don't feel like anything is missing. FDS taught me that's how it should be. A person should add to your life, not complete it, because you should already be happy and fulfilled on your own.

They have some nice positive look outs but some over extreme ideas that need to be toned down, i wouldn't follow their whole ideology but i can agree to some good ideas
