If the man's life is not going in the same general direction as mine, or he wants vastly different things to me, then I wouldn't be interested in pursuing anything with him. My time on this earth is precious, and I'm not going to waste it on someone who just sees me as a bit of temporary fun.

I might still be attracted to the man, but if he makes it clear that he just wants a casual fling, I'm not going to chase him in the hopes he changes his mind.

So, let's answer the question - can i resist a HVM (tm). If you define a HVM as tall, affluent, highly educated, and good in bed, yes, I can resist him. I dumped him in fact. He asked me to move in. He was charming but a bit too slick. His values and future desires (kids) did not align with me. It was like a fever breaking. I later on went with my now husband who is my definition of a HVM. Do not regret.

And, I take my marriage vows seriously. First, I love my husband and never want to hurt him. Second, pragmatically, peen isn't worth wrecking a happy family.

I don't want to date someone famous or trying to be famous. That'd do nothing for me so wouldn't exactly be hard to resist, although they may be to someone else's taste. There are other things I consider valuable in a relationship, even if you consider fame valuable to you personally.

I think it depends on the type of man that’s interested in you and why- not so much what his job is. I didn’t like my husband very much at all when I first met him because he made an inappropriate joke, so I told him he was gross and that my day was ruined because he flustered me so bad. He did apologize for that distasteful joke later on! I ended up losing someone very close to me, and he just so happened to message me at that time, and I told him about the hard time I was having, how sad I was. I’ve never had someone be so caring and sweet to me before, and I was comfortable being a crybaby with him. He had to work incredibly hard to get me to open up with him and learn to communicate well because he was my first boyfriend, and I’d never really had a hard conversation with another person before. I remember a few weeks into talking to him he said, “I’m gunna marry you”. I just kinda laughed all bashful and weird like and said “okay” because what else was I supposed to say? Long-story short he fell in love with me, and I fell in love with him, and I’ll love him until the day I die.

Now, I knew he was very well off, but I didn’t really know the extent and didn’t really give it much thought. It seemed like we’d go on expensive vacations every other month, and I’d tell him “if at any point anything at all is too expensive please just tell me; we don’t have to do anything that costs money”. He assured me it was fine. It made me feel anxious for him because I couldn’t comprehend his income vs my income (I was unemployed at the time caring for my grandparents). I thought all these things were very expensive- until he proposed to me. A ring is expected but he also got me a whole set of diamond jewelry and a diamond oyster perpetual Rolex; I was so shocked. I’d never had so much jewelry in my life, and I’d never had something so ridiculously expensive before. I do wear it when we go out, but it mostly stays in the box. I have a lot of very special first time experiences with my husband that I wouldn’t trade for anything in the world. I’m glad he messaged me when he did. I love him very much.

Yes, because while there are many athletes, actors and musicians I love, and would love to meet. The lifestyle they are apart of is so far away from the lifestyle I want and would like. Alot of them also come with very risky behaviours I have no patience for. I don't want my spouse travelling everywhere for days-weeks-months at a time. I want him to be home here with me, our pets and kids (if we have them) every night. I don't want the attention fame brings, the risks, the lack of privacy....the damn psychos.

If I find them attractive and like their personality, than I would date them (could not / would not resist). The fact that they are famous is not an advantage though, the opposite actually. I don’t want to be in the spotlight, have social media posts that reach too many people about myself or be commented on by the public. I am not sure why you think being famous should be something positive. Do you personally want to date famous women?

I'm just as critical of highly successful men as I am of average men, but I'm also as likely to give them a chance if he looks good and we appear to have things in common. So if the high value man in question is physically attractive, has hobbies and values similar to mine, etc, yeah I'd give him a chance. But I still wouldn't give him sex any sooner, and if he turns out to be a douche or just incompatible with me, I'd dump him just the same, as if he weren't high status.

Granted I've never been so much as approached by a high value man, so I'm not sure exactly how I would react if this would actually happen someday. I'd be flattered for sure. But I also know that very successful people can be very out of tiuch with what the regular person's life, goals and concerns are. So the bigger the difference in lifestyle, the greater the risk of incompatibility, and this is something I've always thought about when it comes to dating far outside of one's class. But also if I really clicked with a guy, it shouldn't matter what his job is, in either direction.

I rejected attention from an Olympic athlete, doctor, and movie director so yes.. The athlete had weird ideas that were morally inconsistent. The doctor was a democrat. The movie director I was not compatible with so I ghosted him. Maybe if I were born into poverty I would have been less picky but I wasn’t and I don’t date people as if they are “someone else.”

This is totally a bad faith post but yeah I'd reject a celebrity or professional athlete. I prefer to be with someone who understands deep struggle and grow with them. Plus I have social anxiety and the celebrity lifestyle seems like nothing short of Hell imo. I'd take a regular normal dude who genuinely loves me over a cheating celebrity any day. And I don't do casual sex either so it would be a no all around, easily.

How am I getting this attention? Is it out of nowhere or is it something that’s gradually built in up over time? Obviously the latter is 100x better because that’s a meaningful relationship. If it’s out of nowhere, it sounds like I’m being used and I don’t trust any attention from a so-called “HVM” at all. Why isn’t he with someone from within his famous people circles? Nope. I prefer a literature professor. These guys would not interest me in the least. The term “high-value” makes me vomit a little in my mouth. I don’t like getting dressed up and tying to look better. I like yoga pants. I wouldn’t ever want my photo taken by strangers when I’m out. I’m private and cherish flying under the radar.

There's like prob 100 pro hockey players on Tinder in my city just from browsing. If "high value man" just means someone who earns decently, how does that really affect me in any lasting way if it LIKELY leads nowhere?

I mean it's very easy to "resist" if you boil it down to it pretty much all being the same. The people who want casual sex (both men and women), mostly look for attraction. Because what would someone else's money do for U? At most a free dinner if Ur just having casual sex or ONS. They could be moving on from U right after U meet them so how does their money factor into anything?

Despite all the redpill bs, it's pretty much still a standard gentlemanly move to buy women dinner etc, whether Ur broke or wealthy. The treatment is the same. Maybe broke guy can't pick U up in a lambo but they pick U up none the less in whatever they have.

Like I wasn't on any date with some old dude, it was some tech conference or something and somehow this old dude was targeting me cos I look pretty young, and instead of offering me a job connection as he promised, he started flirting by text or something, at some point saying that he could take me to Cannes (??). You know cos I wasn't dating or even flirting I was trying to be polite cos of the job thing but like essentially, U can see sometimes millionaires or ppl with real money (but maybe not good looking or really old) might try to throw in some enticing "events" and privileges "normal" ppl won't see. It's not surprising when some young women date some rich dudes but I wouldn't with anyone I'm not attracted to 🤮.

If I know it's not likely to lead anywhere I wouldn't bother with it. Dating by itself is not that fun for me. As much as a dinner, movie, or activity sounds fun, I would rather do things like that with a friend I already know and am comfortable with than a relative stranger. I dated in order to get a specific result which is to have a family and have a partner that would be compatible with that. There's nothing else that's really valuable outside of that I would need to resist.

Although I find guys uniquely fun to hang out with, since I tend to have common interests with them. I don't need a romantic relationship to hang out with them in that way, platonic friendships are great for that.

If you're talking about a super rich guy spending money on me, I'm already pretty happy with my quality of life. I'm very financially comfortable. And sure a billionaire can probably give me experiences I can't buy on my own, but after a certain level of luxury there's significant diminishing returns. I don't want to be on a private jet with some guy I barely know and don't enjoy being with.
