What do you believe the female equivalent of a short man is?

TL;DR

I can’t think of something equal to it, but “boyish” bone structure is the closest thing I can come up with.

Some people comment on weight or bad habits/history, like smoking, tattoos, dating-records, etc.

While these may be deal-breakers for a lot of men, they are not comparable, as you are not born with these “flaws”, you adopt them.

Short – but otherwise healthy and handsome men – are unattractive to women, because they will pass on undesireable traits.

Some female equivilants might be an “un-feminine” figure, such as narrow hips or no bust, however I can’t (through 1st- and 2nd-hand experience) see them as equally detrimental for a woman’s attraction, as height is to men.

A boyish-figured girl can still appear attractive and feminine to at least a big portion of men, by dressing and styling herself and – most importantly – acting in a feminine way.

I had a close friend years ago (back in the early 90's) who was extremely tall - she was 6 foot tall. I'm only 5' tall so we looked a bit comical - like mother and daughter.

When she and I would go out to clubs etc., I often would see guys looking at her and a lot of them made childish comments when we'd walk by, asking if she were on the basketball team, or making Godzilla jokes, etc. etc. She really was an attractive girl but guys avoided her like the plague when we went out.

I think things are maybe a bit different nowadays and tall women aren't so ridiculed.

Honestly, "on the shorter side" but still taller than her has never, in my whole experience ever, been a reason for a previously attracted, nearly in love, decent and sane (Don't forget they talked for weeks) woman to turn icy and then disappear. And not as an isolated incident but multiple times? I can only guess this is a cultural thing? Is the woman very very short? How tall does a man need to be before he's not going to be shorter than "other men"?

Maybe the woman's equivalent would happen in the same culture. Maybe if she is taller than he is or he doesn't think her breasts are big enough.

This is kind of a tough question. Almost automatically, you’d assume the opposite of a short man is a tall woman, but men are still willing to date women taller than them. It’s women who mostly refuse to date men shorter than them, so I’d have to say either less feminine women, women who could pass as men, or women with disproportionate body parts such as short-ish legs and a long torso, or lanky arms on a short frame, large heads on a small frame, or any defect would otherwise say to us that her health is in a poor state. Men are often hesitant to date women with dwarfism, even if they are rare. Women can hide a lot of other things though, like bad hair or skin, bad breath, bad teeth, hair growth in weird spots, etc.

I’d argue a fat woman, if we’re just talking looks here. Like that’s something that except for a select few or desperate men, they will just be written off physically. Any possible attraction is fine, because they just can’t imagine the sight of her naked. Good news is that fat woman can just lose the weight, and if she’s got some thyroid or hormonal problem causing it, then schedule an appointment with an endo and they’ll give you some hormones.

Also, I don’t think your right about the short men only being unsuccessful because they’re going for tall women. Most short women also want tall men, I’m 5’6, so generally I’m taller than the average woman right in the US who is 5’3, right? So that should help me? No, it doesn’t because a lot of those women will, and absolutely have considered me too short as well. It’s because I’m not taller than them in heels. Everyone assumes that short men are going for the tallest WNBA players, but honestly most short men are trying to hook up with short women.

What I described above is regarding casual sex though, LTRs short men do just fine with the shorter women, and even some taller ones.

Quick question but what do you all mean by short man?

I'm from a western country that has an official average height of 5'10 but where the actual average height for men my age and race would be probably 6' and one of my friends is 5'8. We jokingly tease him about it if we are ripping on each other but he has never struggled to get laid by attractive women.

Fair enough if you're talking about someone who is extremely short but if you're talking about regular men who are just sub 6' then I just don't see it being that bad.

That's an absurd overstatement. Merely being below average doesn't remove you from the dating market. Being substantially below average is definitely a very difficult thing, but you are way exaggerating.

I would say women with a lot of excess body hair. Hair growth is genetic, albeit one that some people are able to improve upon. If you have some disorders that cause hirsutism, like PCOS, then even laser hair removal and electrolysis won’t work for you.

Honestly, it depends on if he is handsome or not. You can be on the shorter side, but have a handsome face and a toned body. But if you dont have those and are under 5'5....yeah you will have problems. I would think a shorter girl that is a little below average.

I have the exact equivalent. I speak from literal experience, because this situation, reversed, happened to me.

It’s unfortunate, but many women will not take on a guy who is shorter, which is totally dumb but we all have preferences. But mind you, there are many tall women out there who like shorter guys ironically.

In my opinion, it comes down to the person. It’s not right to generalize but I think most women prefer taller men as most men prefer shorter women who are feminine and petite. Personally, I like muscular Amazonian type women so it ranges from person to person. I like tall women also and women who are not hyper feminine. Don’t get it twisted though I like both, but women with muscles rock. I also work out a lot too so maybe it’s an appreciation.

It's literally tall women. At 5'10 things get hard and and 6' they get really hard for women. If they are exceptionally attractive otherwise, they'll do okay. Few tall women are "amazonian."

If they are average or below average otherwise, it will exacerbate these issues, lock out all men under the median except very low SMV men who are desperate.

We know a girl like this. If she was median height, she'd be fine, but since she's 5'10ish (or taller, not sure) she's been sort of a femcel type. She's enjoyable to be around and pleasant.

Ok, I dont know if people on this sub have gone out to date people. Im 5'4 (or 162cm) and have had several girlfriends, some even taller than me. The notion that a womans attraction just dies because of my height is just silly and misguided. Attraction is complex and works on many different levels. Ive been labelled as handsome and that certainly helps but Im pretty sure that ultimately it was a combination of my looks, personality, charm etc that did it. And no Im not rich.
