I went on a date with an older man last week. Oh my goodness.

Five kids, two different moms. Never been married. DUI so he had to send me an Uber to the place we went. Started telling me how he lived the fast life growing up and now that he’s ready to settle down no one wants to deal with his b.s.

He’s not talking to me because I said I wasn’t ready to have sex and went home instead of staying the night. I’m just like whatever. That was just not a good experience, and I don’t date often.

I'm currently listening to the Bling Ring audiobook and it's actually pretty pinkpilled/FDS-adjacent. The author (Nancy Jo Sales) talks about celebrity/starlet culture and the impact of porn on young tween and teen girls. She raised some really good points as to how the stars/actors/models of today are so over-sexualized and pornified compared to today. Compare the average 20 or 30 something star from the 60-70s (Diana Ross, Janice Joplin, Aretha, etc.) to the ones from the 90s or later and it's super obvious. Even stars that were known for their beauty and sex appeal, like Debbie Harry, were totally covered up. Google "Marilyn Monroe sexy" and "Britney Spears sexy" if you want to have a quick look at the obvious differences. The author, Nancy Jo Sales, talks about Paris/Britney/Nicole/Lindsay and how they were sexualized from a young age and learned quickly that being the "hot, sexy" party girl was the way to keep your name in the tabloids. She writes a lot about rich/preppy/privileged kid culture and porn culture and I think she hit the nail on the head.

I didn't want to make a separate post about it, but... I'm finding myself becoming more and more distrustful, anxious, and disgusted of men, something my therapist is becoming worried of. I don't want to say 'misandrist', because I still am perfectly okay interacting with men on a platonic or casual level, in fact I quite enjoy the conversations I have with my professor, or my two dear friends.

But, now I have no desire to date. I thought I might be asexual, but I honestly don't know if trauma is blocking out any desire to be in any relationship or if I actually am asexual. If a man is interested in me I just can't help but think "he just wants to use me and throw me away when he's bored," and I feel sick. I feel again like the helpless little girl who was abandoned by her parents. Mixed in with that, the negative feelings from my last and only relationship with a LVM.

I find myself scrutinizing the behavior of the men in my life. Like... paranoia. I'm not sure what to think, or do.

THANK YOU FDS FOR GIVING ME MY 20'S, because I really was about to blindly let a major chunk of them get wasted on men, and trying to get myself "right" for a relationship.

After a year that was wonderful on every aspect except dating (go look at my post on leveling up after a fuckboy), I moved to a new city. Isn't that the perfect opportunity to improve yourself? I decided to focus on being a kind, happy person, getting into more hobbies and cultivating my friendships. No boys, no dating, just building a wholesome life. After all (I mistakenly thought), since I hate dating apps and am new here, I won't have any issue not dating.

Now a colleague I get along with stupidly well has asked me for coffee three times, paid each time, offered me a small present tailored to my tastes (handmade - if he'd spent money it would have been too much in my opinion) and just been a general gentleman. I don't want to get my hopes up but after my shitty ex, it's nice to go back to being courted, especially by someone I enjoy spending time with. I make sure to let him know that I enjoy his attentions but I don't go out of my way for him. The FDS mentality is really helping me here. Thank you ladies for your precious advice!

I realized a pattern that I do when it comes to relationships where I focus mostly on their happiness and becomes so nice and giving to a point where they get bored and don’t appreciate me as much. So I’m now exhausted and don’t know how to turn the tables and have my bf pursue me again, as I don’t want him to take me for granted or lose interests in me. I was recently diagnosed with a chronic illness (gastritis) and at the moment can’t drink, have coffee, or eat anything other than bland food (think plain pasta, steamed veg)

Do I put this on my dating profile? I want to filter out anyone who might be uncomfortable by this, and don’t want to spring it on someone in person.

I currently have “temporarily can’t drink but you will always find my on the dance floor til last call”. I love to dance and “temporary” might mean a few years. I’m super outgoing and feel like once someone meets me they’ll realize I dont need alcohol.

My boyfriend and I had our anniversary last weekend and I love him soooo much!!!!! He bought me several gifts that were based on our inside jokes and even wrote me a card even though he is NOT a writer at all. The fact that he hates shopping yet managed to get me three gifts (each with a little note containing a clue about what it is) that he knew I'd love and not just the stereotypical "heart necklace and roses" that low effort men would get (negative value men wouldn't even get you a gift) makes me love him so much more. I see stories on Reddit of women whose husbands won't even get them Christmas gifts (legit saw a post on PPF about red pill wives telling them not to expect a gift or even a thank you for doing ALL the prep/cooking at Xmas) and it's so sad that women are living like this when they can find a man that's begging to show her how much he loves and appreciates her. We decided to spend the weekend in Manhattan and did all of the touristy shit. I wanted to see Six (the Broadway play about Henry VIII's wives but it doesn't open until Feb) so we'll see it in Spring. We went to the Met and then to this adorable Italian place (Grazie) on the UES with AMAZING food and wine and tiramisu. Then we went back to the hotel and fucked lol.

I didn't realize how much mental energy I spent trying to justify his indifference towards me. I also realized how much time I spent playing the "nice girl" trope, which let him not try as hard in the relationship. Maybe found a HVM... told him I’m not in the best place to date/be in a relationship, and I wanted to start getting to know each other as friends. He’s been complimenting me and pays for everything when we hang out. He’s been no pressure. He was texting me too much for my tastes, so I told him I wanted to focus on calls and seeing each other in-person- to give me the space I needed. So he called me 30 minutes after the text. Which was unexpected as it was midday and we were both workings. Anyway I’ve felt a lot better since he laid off all the texting. We will see if he keeps being chill, and honoring my requests... and things naturally develop. Or if he’s just another scrote. The bar is high! Maybe he can hang? Haha

I'm a radfem and a LOT of my female friends are lesbian or straight but celibate by choice. We've had many convos about how impossible it is to find a man who isn't into porn, who will treat a woman right, etc etc. I was starting to feel a little despondent with these convos, tbh, because I am straight and don't want to live alone for the rest of my life. For a while I thought I could just use men for sex occasionally, but that's not for me (sex is dangerous for women, I am not a plaything, etc etc). I'm glad I tried it out, but I'm never doing the FWB shit again.

But since I found this sub, I feel like BOOM - all the radfem theory that I totally subscribe to has been developed into a practical application that will help me find and maintain a relationship with a worthy man. These are the tools I've been looking for!

I'm still learning, and I will probably need plenty of practice, but this is how I will raise my daughter to be a HVW and my son to be a HVM.

Am I being too unreasonable on this? I have a guy that I was seeing for a month but then suddenly he had issue at home so I didn’t speak to him for a week. He has been messaging me since yesterday asking for him to contact him? For a bit more context I texted him first after two day of no contact and then sends me a paragraph about what was going on.

I think what is pushing me towards not responding is the fact that I had to seek out this information rather than letting me know about it? I finally broke up with a LVM last March after being together 5 years and then breaking up and going back and forth for 2 years...Uhg. He fooled me for the last time. I took the rest of last year to focus on myself and try to heal. I hadn’t really been dating because I really wanted to be alone for once. I decided to get on tinder towards the end of the year and matched with this guy that I ended up knowing from high school. We talked for about a month before he asked me to hang out for New Year’s. I accepted and we hung out and had a great time. We had a little kiss, nothing crazy, but that was it and I was happy to not have slept with him on the first date like I had been used to doing. I am new to FDS but I am really intrigued with the content and trying to apply some tactics because I am done with LVM. Anyway, we hung out again about a week and a half later and had a great time talking over lunch and a long walk throughout a local square. That’s been a little over a week now and he hasn’t texted me since last Tuesday. I’m kind of sad about it but I’m trying to keep my standards high and accept that he might just not be interested. It sucks because he’s the first guy I took a chance on in a long time but I definitely don’t want to waste my time with any more losers or low value men. He really seemed high value so I’m confused but actions speak louder than words. I know Tinder isn’t the place to meet high-value men probably but I am still scared of a relationship so I’m not thrilled with seeking out other dating websites just yet. I am considering it though. I really am done with one night stands at the moment. I think I used most tactics on here for the first couple of dates but there’s definitely an instance where I kind of slipped up and admitted I have social anxiety. I’m still learning. I’m new-ish to adopting FDS but I’ve always had an aversion to getting into relationships unless the guy proved himself to me. I hung out with friends over the weekend. I’m not sure if they were trying to make me feel good about me being single but they were talking a lot about their boyfriends and what they were saying was making me ill.

These women are gorgeous and several years younger than me. One has a UTI and she suspects it’s because her bf didn’t shower before sex and ignored her request to do so. She asked him to get her some cranberry juice at the store the next day and he came back an hour later with something for himself and no cran. The hell? She is distraught because she has shitty health insurance and can’t go to a doctor easily and without excessive cost. I said go to Walgreens or a walk-in clinic and make him pay the bill. Like, Jesus Christ.

The other woman told stories of her boyfriend’s issues with alcohol (peeing on the nightstand, her hiding in bedroom with the door locked while he was drinking). It sounds like he has done therapy to work on it and she stood by him through it all. But he was out last night getting totally wasted during the game. I am just dumbfounded but I also suspect with the economy and low wages, partnering up and living together is how they are getting by and so they put up with this shit. Anyway, insight? I invited them to go to al-anon with me.

How do you let a guy know that you aren't interested when he's hitting on you in person (not online)? Do you flat out tell them? Ignore them? Make up an imaginary boyfriend? I'm levelling up and getting more male attention and I find that having closed off body language, showing disinterest, etc. is not enough for some men to get the hint. Or maybe they just don't care. I had a date scheduled on Friday but I cancelled the date 2 hours before. I got stuck at work and I didn't want to be rushing and late and I wouldn't have had time to stop home and change clothes and shower. I didn't want the hassle so I just cancelled. In our first conversation he chose the restaurant, and said I can pick the time. Then I said 8 and he asked for 7- I said how about 7:30 but I wasn't thinking about if I could actually make that work. It turns out 7:30 was too early for me. It kind of annoyed me that he said I could pick the time and then asked for an hour earlier. I compromised on the plan without really thinking. I feel too awkward to reach out to reschedule, I have lost interest in him I think. I think that ball would be in my court since I cancelled the date but I'm not really interested anymore.

edit: other than that my weekend was great- I went shopping on Saturday and I am putting the finishing touches on my "queen bedroom" and I'm almost finished reading "why men love bitches" and I'm halfway through "why does he do that?." I am also listening to an audiobook about Queen Elizabeth I titled "Elizabeth: Renaissance Prince." I love it so far, and I love the drama! I'm only about 1/5 through it but I'm loving it. We had salary reviews today at my job and I got a 10% raise and they are planning to promote me within in the next 6 months. I am so happy today!

I just want to say how thankful I am for this sub. Before this sub, the closest I'd ever gotten to "FDS Strategy" were the books Why Men Love Bitches and Why Men Marry Bitches. Those books were life-changing and really opened my eyes, but the problem is that once I finished the books, I'd meet a new guy, and all the new things I'd learned would fly out the window. I'd go straight back into Pickmeisha mode and forget what I'd learned in those books.

This sub is pretty much like Why Men Love Bitches in subreddit form, and it's great because I'm visiting the sub daily (instead of just reading a book once and forgetting all about it). I don't forget the concepts and principles taught here, because I'm constantly reinforcing them for myself by visiting the sub on a regular basis.

In my most recent dating experience with a man, he'd lost interest in me so he lied, gaslit me, and tried to ghost/fade on me in order to try to get rid of me, instead of telling me straight up that he didn't think things would work between us.

I spent a lot of time wondering, "why not me? why wasn't I good enough for him?" But I read something today on here that said "the greatest gift you can give your children is their father," and it really made me think twice. Would I want a man who lies so effortlessly, gaslights, and ghosts/fades instead of ending things like an adult? Would I really want a man like that to potentially father my children?

I read somewhere that everything you need to know about a man is in how he exits, and that couldn't be more true.

I'm just thankful that this sub is teaching me to raise the bar, and flip the script. Instead of constantly wondering why I wasn't good enough for him, I've got to ask, was he good enough for me?

And I will continue to ask myself that question in each person I date, until I finally find the one who measures up to my standards. We are raising the bar in 2020, ladies. After all, these are men who could potentially father our children someday.

Since starting a fitness class, I’ve really seen my confidence build and my tolerance for BS lower. It’s refreshing. My usual way is to get upset if I don’t ace something right off the rip, however, I’m doing okay in some areas and not so great in others. My mind isn’t going to negative self-talk if I mess up during class. I see it as nurturing and supporting myself by being my own mom and dad.

Going from that, I’ve found myself ready to give a guy the boot due to unavailability. It’s difficult because we are friendly but he’s a workaholic and we haven’t had a chance to go out. Our schedules make it hard to plan anything in advance. Thing is, I have a wee bit of time off soon and offered to meet him for lunch near his place of work. This is probably, most likely, it is pick me behavior.

I just feel a way because he mentioned that he felt like I was waiting for him to find an opening. Like what ever it’d would be, I would approve or not. He sounds insecure as Hell. Well, this lunch date…I see him flaking out or having some excuse or plain forgetting(he did that once; forgot he was working & we had plans). Should I just wait to see how this turns out or do I preemptively cancel and move on?

About I week ago, I broke up with my boyfriend of 4 ish months. He wasn't abusive, but I felt unappreciated and like I was putting in so much effort with little enthusiasm from him. It turned out that he wasn't really over his ex and he wasn't sure how he felt about me (he didn't dislike me but couldn't list any other qualities he liked about me other than "kind") Although the relationship wasn't bad (I have a lot of good memories), it felt like I was overcompensating for his lack of effort a lot of the time. I would do so many kind things because I adored him so much and really enjoyed making him feel appreciated and loved. I noticed 2 months in that I kept having this terrible anxiety and sinking feeling. I started feeling unseen and unappreciated. When I brought this up and stated I needed x to feel more appreciated (for example, compliments), he would be so so apologetic and say he needed to get better at that, make me dinner, but then nothing really changed. I just knew the true feeling of love and adoration wasn't there from him. It took me breaking up with him for him to admit that to me. Glad I didn't stay - it likely would've gotten worse down the line. Lesson learned!

Rearranging my house so i have a workout/crafting/relaxation room. Gonna set up my altar and have a party with my Co worker friends. Just bought some nice feminine casual clothes today and a cute little sun dress for spring as well as some adorable jackets.

Anyone else have a capsule wardrobe? I just heard of the concept and realized i had already started doing that. So my 5 colors are mauve, burgundy, green, mustard yellow and pink. As well at some floral prints.

I've recommitted to my diet and exercise routine. Did two long runs last week, got back into meal prepping, and lost 3 pounds.

Right now the aim is to put more effort into my appearance. Never did more than the bare minimum before, thinking "why bother." But it's doing wonders for my confidence. I've got a skincare routine now, and looking to upgrade my wardrobe little by little

Was killing time on Tinder and the profile of my ex came up... shit, I knew it was going to happen but I didn't expect it to be so soon. He broke up with me not even a month ago claiming he wanted to focus on working out his own issues and I QUOTE HIM, he said: "The last thing I want to do is have to go back to Tinder". That was his shitty way of saying he didn't want to break up but had to, but deep down all he really wanted was to be single again.

This motherfucker had me gf-zoned for THREE FUCKING YEARS. Didn't even have the courtesy to wait at least a month before chasing skirt again.

I was feeling pretty good about myself and trying to stay positive but can't help feeling like shit now...

OLD users: Do you guys thinks it’s too high of a standard to ask a guy to chat on the app for a couple days first before meeting up? I have a lot of guys who want to meet up within the first few messages, but I like to chat for a couple days first to see if there’s at least “texting chemistry”.

However, this makes me wonder if I’m filtering out guys that could potentially be great dates, because some people don’t like to waste time chatting on the app and would prefer to just meet in person right off the bat. A guy might “next” me because I wanted to chit chat on the app for a bit, but what if we were potentially a great match and I missed out?

Thoughts?
