I never liked him from when he was a teenager and called his boy gang the "Pussy Posse". He was objectifying women from the word go. How a man treats relatives and colleagues is no indication of how he will behave with a romantic partner. I've had a sister say their brother is "amazing, the most wonderful person in my life." Meanwhile, he's gaslighting me and trying to invite himself over at 1am 🙄 Dicaprios behaviour is pathological. The gossip websites have speculated for years that he's gay. I've read some gossip from a few different sources that he gets his entourage to approach girls he wants to fuck and gets them to sign a NDA. Then he lies there with air pods on listening to whales apparently and not making eye contact whilst the poor "fan" does all the work. Just projectile vomit material. He was a child actor in Hollywood so odds are he is a victim of child abuse which may explain some of the weird behaviour. Dude seriously needs therapy.

Here's the thing. How he treats Kate Winslet is not how he treats his girlfriends. Men like him are not looking for a partner or lover. They are looking for a 'tight pussy.' A woman his age is 'old' by his standards. Most would already have one marriage, kids, a stable career, money, and wisdom. They won't be in awe of him. If men like DeCaprio wanted a partner that they would want to marry then they would have been dating an entirely different corpus of women, someone like Winslet. The women are there for fun too when they are with a powerful man like DeCaprio.

The scene where an child actress talks a bunch of adult nonsense no 8 year-old would say, and then she kneels at his feet- perfect example of adultification. Leo’s character tells her this story of a washed-out actor, and then he says she’ll be washed-out in 15 years, then says:

“Nothing, pumpkin puss. I’m just… I’m just teasing you.”

In the scene where they’re acting-out a kidnapping, she sits on his lap with his hand in her chest (most uncomfortable thing I’ve ever seen) slobbering all over her, and then he throws her to the ground, and when they cut, she tells him what a great job he did.

These scenes might seem harmless enough, but since the whole film seems to be about white male masculinity, and an excuse to literally brutally roast “feminist” straw-men female murderers at the end (completely misrepresenting the inherent misogyny of Charles Manson- see feminist film Charlie Says)… scenes like these are commentaries on female actresses and girls. Given Hollywood’s track record with that in the 70’s- It’s just deeply uncomfortable and I don’t understand why an actor would agree to be complicit in that.

Then again, Brad did kiss Kristen Dunst onscreen when she was a child, and dated a 16yo while 26, so…. I guess they are all rotten to the core.

I think when his exes realize how 1. Manipulative and weird he is and 2. That they don’t want to spend the rest of their life with someone like that, it’s over. The brain finishes developing somewhere around 25 so that makes sense. Younger women are more likely to fall for manipulative tactics and be impressed by wealth, fame, etc. I think a lot of women date him for fame and then dip as soon as they get it. Kelly Rohrbach is an example of this.

In all seriousness though, I can understand why young, pretty actresses who're trying to land a role that might get them closer to an oscar or even just establish their career might want to use his fame and connections. Do I think it's good? Absolutely not but I can understand doing so if it feels like you need to in order to achieve your dreams or heck just get enough roles to pay the bills in such an expoitative industry.

There need to be more women in power in that industry or this isn't going to end and we're just going to get more films that I can't watch without cringing at the female characters and feeling disgusted by the male ones.

Edit: What I absolutely can't understand is why anyone would let him near their children.
