Everything about this story is triggering because its so common in my context. And I hate how his family went ahead and decided how the wife should become a SAHM without consulting the wife and her family. I am glad she's leaving and also that all assets are in the kids' names. In my country, mothers are always granted with custody so at least she has control over the houses and won't be forced to share the property with the husband in a divorce

OP here: Another detail I think is worth pointing out is this whole “I brought her to school” and this is the thanks I get. I HOPE that he means “I paid for her school” or at least “I brought her to school with me when I attended, I moved her with me” (not great but eh...), from the original thread though, there’s at least some that think it literally means “I used to physically drive her to school” and we all know the abusive, grooming shit that implies. 🤮

I got too impatient to read all the comments before posting. This is almost certainly an African country. This behaviour is par for the course unfortunately.

Sounds just like the pious hypocritical men in my country of birth. They will be bbq'd in their hell. Something about the turn of phrase as well as the religion and elders. That man is less concerned about his marriage than missing out on the cash he doesn't have access to.

At no point does the man talk about speaking with his wife about resolving his problem together. He harassed her to not divorce him and tried nothing to win her trust.

He says he sent her to school - she's a business woman and he'll brag about that as his achievement till the cows come home while stalking and harassing her for her money.
