I love everything about this! This reminds me of a similar story...

I was briefly seeing guy who I decided to end it with because his behavior became narcissistic and crazy. I informed him via text that I was done.

He texts me: "So you really want to throw this all away????" while sending me a pic of us together and smiling

I reply: "yes"

Then I blocked him 😂

I think my recent ex tried this manipulation shit - he initiated the idea of breaking up because I didn't "match his efforts" in the relationship (ie, I wasn't his bang-therapist). When I decided a breakup sounded good, he backpedaled, "I just wanted to love you forever!""I thought I was gonna marry you someday!""Still not done trying if you change your mind". The last one was after a string of comments about how I didn't put effort in and he needed someone who could match him 🙄 don't let the door hit you on the way out 👋

Oh Lordy Lou, a poly guy I’ve been gray rocking (no contact is not a smart move for me right now, so block and delete needs to wait) sent me, “Be straight with me, do you want me to stop contacting you? Your responses have been pretty dismissive” which I took as him trying to trigger some fear of abandonment in me. I gave him an affirmative and said I see no point in being in touch, then he tried to argue why I was wrong and said we could have so much fun together. I told him I was bored out of my skull the last time we saw each other and would be far less bored if I spent time on my own, so that’s what I planned to do. He sent me a really long reply about how he’s such a victim and “thank you for reminding me how unkind you choose to be for no good reason”, how he “tried to create a friendship” with me, but also how “all facets of intimate relationships have sexuality woven into them in some way. It's all sex”, how he “never did anything to deserve the way you have treated me” so for me to act like I have suggests that I have been “experiencing hallucinosis,” and that I seem to have an “underlying loathing” for him. (Fuck, finally, he’s picking up what I’m putting down! Why would you want to stay in contact with someone who is SO clear about loathing you anyway?) He ended the novel saying that that’s a really unfortunate way to look at people who are only trying to be kind to you, “I know because I lived that path for a long time before finally waking up. It’s a very lonely path indeed.”

I simply responded with a “You’re welcome for the reminder!” and he finally shut up.

This reminds me of once (years ago) my LVX asked me to come to his bday party, I said what time should I be there he said "chill bbq in the afternoon come whenever" I was like okay cool be there at 4 after work. I show up at 4 and he straight up (tries to anyway) ignore me. I said why would you do that? He responds "my friend said I should be mean to you since you were late to my party." ??? Honestly I was confused. Now I realize he was just trying to neg me into sticking around and unfortunately it worked for 5 more months until I figured out he was not worth my time/life.

Same thing happened to me. This guy I went out with turned out to be a RPiller and used all kinds of tactics with me. I stopped replying to him and he kept texting. One day he asked me if he should stop texting me. I said that would be best. He stopped for a while only to start again. Ended up blocking him. Thank you FDS!
