She went to hospital at 2am one morning, with abdominal pains, apparently only then discovering that she was pregnant.

As you'd expect, this news has resulted in major trust issues on my part, and has at times led to me question our future together.

In my jurisdiction, termination is an option up to 20 weeks in, but as is always the case, that's not a question I have any say in - and I do support a woman's autonomy over her body by the way. I have tried to plead with her to take that route, for emotional, financial and mental health reasons. But she still seems inclined to go ahead. I did help her get in contact with what I thought was a reputable family planning and counselling service. Big mistake - in a mere 1/2 hour over the phone counselling session, they've already told her to ignore me in her decision making process, and told her make her plans on the basis that her potential motherhood would be as single parent. (Seriously WTF?)

Emotionally I've been wavering from numbness to anger, to acceptance, and through it all over again. It just feels so unjust - in all likelihood, I'm going to be a father in April, assuming the greatest responsibility a human being can take upon themselves... and at no point have any say in the matter. I mean I get it I support a woman's right to choose, but that that moment of conception, when I should have gotten my say, when I could have used a condom, mutual masturbation or whatever - that was taken away from me. It just feels so fucking unjust.

And then what do I have to look forward to? Custody battles? Child support. I genuinely have no idea why somebody would want to bring a child into the world in this way.

Any ideas, similar experiences, advice, or thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.
