One thing I've noticed on this sub is how frequently men say women are liars and can't be trusted. This leads to some men disregarding anything the women here have to say about their own experiences.

I think the men here are projecting. They believe women treat men the way the treat women, especially in this particular instance. Why?

Lying by understating the endowment is the most widespread strategy, as implemented in 71% of the games (overstatement occurred only in 3.2% of the games, the rest being truth-telling). The frequency of lying is similar in mixed groups compared to homogenous groups. However, studying only cases where lying was observed (the extensive margin of lying), on average, whatever the gender of the partner is, the amount of lies submitted by men is higher than the amount of lies submitted by women, a result in line with existing experimental evidence in strategic, selfish lying (Gill, Prowse and Vlassopoulos [2013]; Conrads et al. [2013]; Dreber and Johannesson [2008]; Erat and Gneezy [2012]). Men tend to state the largest lies when paired with women.

47It is, of course, a true challenge to infer general conclusions from such simple experiments. However, the existence of a gender effect in lying behaviour as observed within a population of educated, young subjects is a challenging finding. The question of the best organization of teams cannot ignore the quality of communication, and the “production of truth.” In our specific context, there are no gender differences in the frequency of lying, which seems to be relatively high. However, regarding the amount of lies, women turned out to be the most reliable, and men’s behaviour, particularly when paired with women, is worrisome, to say the least.

Well, well, well, would you look at that. Men lie more, tell more selfish lies and tell the biggest whoppers to women. Even in a stupid game some researcher came up with.

So, maybe it's women who need to start saying lying is AMALT.
