Feminists will be like "98% of sexual assaults are men, that means men are dangerous."

But that statistic doesn't really tell us anything about how dangerous men are. When women use that statistic, the only possible resolution would be to make it 50/50 between men and women. Right, like if there was only 10 rapes that ever happened in the history of humanity, and 9 of those were men, then 90% of rapes would still be by men even though it's such a small percent of the population. You can scale the number of rapists up or down, but it doesn't tell us anything about the people comitting rape.

I don't want to look up all the numbers again, but I calculated something like less than 0.45% of the male population commits violent crimes. That can tell us more about how dangerous men are. This was using how many men are in prison and how many men are in the USA and then finding the difference and what percent. And even that number is all crimes, so once you filtered for just violent crimes it would be even less, and then when you filter out for violent crimes against women it would be even less. The statistic I used is being generous, and it is still already very low.

It's really funny to see women complain about the patriarchy and the so-called choice feminism while simultaneously supporting traditional roles and courting process in a relationship. The idea of men leading a relationship is based on the assumption that women are less capable of making decisions. Men pursuing women also stems from the idea that women are not agents in their love/sex lives but things to be conquered. Marriage proposals aren't true proposals as they come with the implicit assumption that the woman is already up for marriage and waiting for the man to make a decision. This dynamic doesn't exist in relationships where the parties are seen as true equals.

This is not to mention that a relationship where a woman expects to be provided for is transactional and also being "bought" by a man she wouldn't have agreed to date had he been poor or of an average income.

Feminism isn't about choice. It's a one liner that a lot of feminists resort to because people don't put any actual critical thinking behind why they say the things they say.

Saying that feminism is about choice doesn't address the fact that choices don't exist in a vacuum. There's a reason why many women "choose" to go into sex work, and if it were so fucking empowering to women, why isn't the female CEO of Only Fans shoving dildos up her ass on camera to subscribers? Why aren't her female family members? Why doesn't her grandma have a page sexually objectifying herself, since its so fucking empowering?

Many "choices" exist to uphold the patriarchy and the patriarchal oppression of women.

Two thoughts I had this morning:

Jokes such as "the feminism leaving my body when x x x" or "I'm tired of being an independent woman, time to find a rich husband" have nuggets of truth to them. This is how many women really feel but they've been suppressing it to cosplay strong feminist woman. They are expressing that they want to revert back to traditional (patriarchal) norms. But disguising it as a joke.
Any time I see a post generalizing men for something negative, it's usually talking about Chad. If you're going to paint all men as emotionally unavailable, manipulative, needing therapy, abrasive or potentially dangerous, at least connect the dots and realize you're talking about the assholes and the bad boys that you keep giving a chance. It's like if a man made a post generalizing women as vain, lying, cheating gold-diggers. You'd quickly be like, "Well, women aren't a monolith." Oh, and by the way, "women are not a monolith" is just a fancier way of saying "not all women!" and we know how much you all hate that when it's "not all men!" so please stay consistent with your logic.

People often say that radical feminism is what brings bad name to feminism, but I disagree. That's liberal (mainstream) feminism. Which one of you actually knows what radical feminists are saying? Do you know any radfem authors and their works? No, you don't, because radfem designation has become used just to brand someone one disagrees on theoretical ground. The actual radical feminism is unknown and invisible to most.

There are some people here who claim feminism just gets a bad name because of a few crazy radfems online ruining the image of the movement. To be quite frank, I think this is bullshit. So let me give a list of reasons why feminism actually gets a bad name.

1) The use of theories that are completely unscientific, circular and not falsifiable and taking them as dogmatic facts that can't ever be questioned even though there is no empirical evidence to support these dogmatic beliefs. Then acting like them believing in these theories makes them both morally and intellectually superior to everyone else. Telling people to educate themselves, assuming that anyone who disagrees with these theories is either operating with bad intentions or completely uneducated on the theory. Their idea of education is just ideological indoctrination. This is something done by most activist feminists, not just the radfems.

2)Feminist organisations that lobby for laws that discriminate based on gender, that support known female abusers, that cite false statistics, that minimize male suffering, that invite female criminals to speak on their events, ...

3) Most of their theories blame men in one way or form, and because they are usually not scientific as I mentioned earlier, one can only assume that there are sexist reasons for doing so. Almost everything negative is names after men, and men's problems are framed as self-inflicted. The irony and hypocrisy of this is that feminists themselves say that patriarchy frames men as strong and tough and in control, while they themselves continue to support the same gender bias through pretty much all of their theories that men are active and have agency and are thus to blame for their own problems while women are seen as passive and victims of their circumstances. This again is something that is shared by all branches of feminism, even if not to the same extent. Its not just the chronically online radfems.

4) ties back in to the first point, but feminist academics are some of the most dishonest and sexist people you will ever see. I'm not going to go into much detail, but it's essentially the same as what male academics did in the past when they called women hysterical. It's not just an offense to men, but also to scientific integrity.

5) Hostility towards men's rights activists regardless of what they are actually doing or saying.

6) hypocrisy of gender essentialism vs gender nationalism. On one hand claiming gender essentialism is bad, on the other hand claiming that each gender should just support their own gender as if men and women can't care about eachother. Also ignoring that many men supported women in their fight for equal rights, and now acting like men should help themselves completely om their own and can't expect help from women whatsoever.

I saw an article once talking about how most abuse is actually reactive. This has played out in my own relationships so I have a lot of sympathy for men who retaliate when women constantly taunt us and push us until we snap and then they play the victim.

Also consider how lesbians have higher domestic violence rates than gay men. Domestic violence is usually women's fault.

The Barbie movie was on Hbomax and i watch it.

I expect some feminist men are bad woman are good piece.

But imo it was a very anti feminist movie.

The starting scene where we see barbieland is made like a parody of what modern day feminst want.

And in are world when ken suddenly get respect. Like he freaks out that somone asked him what time it is. and someone says exuse me sir. Shows how much disrespect he got his hole life.

And when he introduces patriarchy to the other kens. yes they take over barbieland. But they still treat the barbies better then the barbies ever done to them. As they still wanted to spend time with them. Where as the ken where just seen as eccessories to the barbies.

And the final arch was literly barbie convincing ken that she is not importend to ken. And that ken suide find himself more importend then barbie.

And the narrator even says that ken get treated worse then woman do in are world.

And when barbie gets to choice to stay in the perfect feminist world she choices to go to are world instead cause she thinks its the better option.

He she clearly feels pretty bad about manipulating all the ken to fight each other.

The big mistake of feminism in many countries is that it pushes critical theories that are divisive as a main message of the movement, like the “oppression” framework (i.e. men are oppressors) and the “patriarchy”, rather than pushing for a simple and more popular message like “equality” or “fairness”.

As a supporter of feminism, I think this is what causes backlash against feminism in many countries. I am glad that feminists in my country have not become too divisive and still get things done. We have recently pushed for expanding abortion right, from 4 week limit to 12, and now from 12 to 20. And this happened under conservative controls of government, parliament, and Supreme Court.

Feminism is simply an old outmoded ideology that isn't interested in grappling with modern problems. It's raison d'etre hasn't totally disappeared but women are much closer in economic equality and have "preferred status" (if not out outright gender based nepotism) in large corporations and institutions, women are no longer bound by marriage/family/sex relations etc. It simply doesn't have a lot to do that doesn't sound like whining in modern society.

The "women at the end of history" it produced isn't an interesting or socially health person. She works at some corporation perpetuating capitalism (or else she'd be some party official and functionary doing the same for that ideology), her relationships are mostly transactional, she has no real future because she's the product and epitome of modernism which is low fertility and collapsing. She's just a consumer unbounded by her ancestors social mores. Where to go from here? Not anywhere really.

It struggles to remain relevant by attaching itself to other causes - "Green energy", democratic socialism (or socialism), feminism in the third world and so on. But everyone is aware these largely exist as irrelevant projects of the bourgeoise in service to some greater ideology, and the rank and file feminists aren't much interested beyond individualistic gain in any case - can feminism get more money, into a better college, more maternal leave etc.

The real issues of the 21st century (social and demographic collapse, 1st world economic ossification, mass immigration/migration, climate change etc) won't be confronted by feminism in any meaningful way, just some embarrassingly simple answers that accomplish nothing (things like throw more money at childcare or be nicer to immigrants etc). In essence it's disappeared into the large operating model of liberalism.

I’m not too familiar with the literature or history but from what I do know, feminism is a movement that in my opinion was supposed to give women the right to vote, equal pay, equal job opportunity, inclusion, and more control over birth.

Once that was achieved then all the extra shit is just agenda, propaganda, and ego. Everybody’s world is different but from my view majority of women don’t even utilize the movement to do anything productive just a bunch of chicken heads making noise about selfish motives and victimhood.

Society simply doesn’t care about any of the dumb ass talking points from average women proclaiming to be feminists because they aren’t advocating for anything and certainly not changing anything…you’re simply complaining and bitching about social issues regarding women that you are not equipped mentally or emotionally to solve at any level.

If you want to be loose goose and get knocked up before marriage…you can. If you want to abort that life…you can. If you want to act like or even change into a man…you can. If you want to chase a career…you can. If you want to put your naked body on the internet and sell it…you can. My point is that women can do whatever tf they want. Whether the woman has the resources, knowledge and power to do so is up to her not any man. Women know that though lol.

A true feminist, in my mind, are people who want women to prosper and commit their lives to create avenues to see that they do. This means actually gathering the necessary resources, education, and influence to do so. From my view, most women are just fans (supporting) of feminism and not actually feminists. They want all the benefit for no work. In my opinion, you shouldn’t be able to do so. If you’re not helping, educating, delegating and providing for this movement then you really just need to stfu and get over yourself. That’s where feminism turns the men off. The movement is being taken too far by women who aren’t worth a rat’s ass. Influencing and indoctrinating younger women to be just as delusional, spiteful, and selfish as you are with no benefit to anybody but that you “belong to a group”.

Feminism, in my opinion, is an elite concept that should be handled by people who actually give af about women’s issues. Not some attention seeking thot who couldn’t get a car door opened or her feelings validated by a man.

Feminism was useful when women weren't allowed to vote or get loans. Now it's pretty much just a man-hating cult that's only made society worse over the past few decades. Yet we've still got congresspeople whining about shit like the "gender pay gap" when it hasn't even shrunk in 20 years, and it's not going to shrink because men and women simply aren't the same. For example, women can get pregnant which will naturally take them out of the workforce for some time. Women also tend to naturally gravitate towards people-oriented professions which usually pay less than technical professions. Hopefully more people (particularly those on the left) begin to realize that feminism in its modern form is doing more harm than good.

I'm a feminist in theory but I disagree with many of the points individual feminists make.

There seems to be a lot feminist criticism of capitalism, which many consider to be a patriarchal construct, and many advocate for socialism and other economically "egalitarian" systems. I think this is extremely naive. Every system has activities that are valued more than others and positions that are more respected than other. Disadvantaged groups in these systems will end up getting the short end of the stick.

Feminists focus a lot on collective action such as reduced working hours and parental leave -which is great- but ignore that many instances of sexism take place at home, not in corporations and not in the government. Women will always get the short end of the stick if they keep cohabitation/marrying men who don't act like equal partners early on, or always become the ones to give up their careers because they can't fathom the idea that children are also a father's responsibility. It's infuriating listening to "feminist" women telling other women that they need to choose between children and a career, when they know damn well that their husbands didn't have to.

I understand that some women get pressured to participate in casual sex and this should be rightfully criticized, but framing hookup culture - which prevalence is vastly exaggerated- as inherently anti-feminist by some feminists is sexist as fuck. This portrays sex as something men take at the expense of women, and that having agreeing to a relationship with you somehow validates the reception of sex.

Feminism in the U.S., has fought for and won many, many policies disadvantaging men. It’s a very anti-male movement. Why any man would want to date a woman who chooses to be a part of an anti-male movement is beyond me.

I have mixed feelings about feminism as a whole. I support women liberation from oppression and same rights as men but there other aspects of feminism I don't like and disdain.

Some positives: calling out toxic traits in men such as cat calling, fight against domestic abuse and victim blaming, equal rights, legalizing abortions, and critiquing poorly written women in media

Some negatives: decoupling sex from romance, advocation of prostitution, undermining negative emotions in men, romanizing female promiscuouity and paternal uncertainty, wanting to reduce romance in media, getting upset male and female leads falling in love, obsession with subverting expectation, obsession with divorce, and pushing for male and female friendship (nothing wrong with mix gender friendship).
