Ugh, I hate that I found this thread late because the WEC saga is so fun.

Here's what Caleb did wrong:

He flew too close to the sun. That's literally it. I agree he has an above average SMV. I agree that he's hotter than most of the women he ghosted. But not everyone can get away with everything.

If he had 3-4 women in rotation + some extra ONS like what most men of his caliber do to get casual sex, he would have been fine.

It's the fact that he repeatedly and consciously slept with perhaps 100s of women, leading them on and then ghosting them that led to his demise.

I'm of the belief that anyone, including men and women, who use deception to get what they want should be shamed for it.

I also think that Caleb's behavior is pathologic. Not all men of his caliber do the things he did. I've met awesome guys better looking than he is who basically have been in short and long term relationships since college.

It's clear that Caleb was using women for validation. Because if he just wanted sex, he could have been honest and upfront and still likely gotten what he wanted, just not the sheer amount of it.

Actually, you know what’s really funny? Ghosting is emotionally abusive. But how come when men get ghosted, it’s a “who cares! Nobody owes you anything!”

I’ve been ghosted by women who would do the same shit WEC did and in many instances, would drive me into a drug filled psychosis and basically relapse. Every time I used to talk to my lady friends that I trust about [insert random woman here] who ghosted me without a care and how depressed/hopeless I became afterwards from not hearing from them or getting any closure (I sometimes would beg for a rejection message rather than silence and still get silence ouch), they would ALL tell me something along the lines of: “Well, yeah I guess she was shitty and I see why you’re hurt but technically nobody owes you anything. Just move on.” Oh really?

I used to reply with something along the lines of “I get that in terms of sex and romance but ffs, what about empathy, kindness, basic human decency? If nobody owes us anything, then what’s the point of life? Why do people complain about climate change, or a billionaire not paying more taxes if nobody owed each other anything right, doesn’t it all sound hypocritical” and they would just say “Well yeah I see your point but maybe YOU just need a break. Stop dating for a while. Don’t think about her anymore. I’m sure someone else will come along!” Yeah the onus was on me to accept the ghosting. Boo fucking hoo. —- For a very long time, I thought, fuck, I guess I have to accept that most people (in my case, women) are liars, didn’t mean anything they said to me (e.g. wanting to be in my life forever or never wanting to let me go) and I’m just a sucker for believing in…it.

If I complained about ghosting, then it’s my fault for getting emotionally attached “too early”. It’s my fault for feeling bad about feeling ghosted. It’s my fault for “expecting” a certain behavior and that I’m being entitled. Move on if you get ghosted, she probably just wanted “space”. “It doesn’t matter what her reason was, she’s allowed to ghost for any reason” Ahh, alright then! That means I have every right to ghost, for any reason as well.

In WEC’s case, frankly, he had every right to ghost since that’s what women would say too if the genders were reserved. They would’ve done the same to him if they had the chance. Accept the full consequences ladies since you are equals, correct? I don’t owe you shit either. Men don’t owe you shit either. West Elm Caleb didn’t owe these women shit either. See how that works? :)

People talk about him not being "cute" really don't get it. He's tall, white and works a great job. It's probably one of the best lanes out there. It's like playing Pokemon and picking Squirtle. Is he going to evolve into a fucking Charizard? No, but that shits still easy as fuck. It actually makes him a lot more palatable to most women.

I'm also 6ft4, black, insanely muscular, handsome and well dressed. I literally look like the type who will fuck you and never call you back. Whilst I wont pretend for a second that a struggled for attention on apps like Tinder (whilst I only had my radius set to about 5-10 miles lol) I did notice that despite the many, many matches it was hard to get women to commit to dates...especially considering the fact that I kinds bored of the whole thing only a couple of years into it. The only notable part of this saga is that it is mainstream. Lots of women are judging him just by being tall, but otherwise just looking average. But he probably had good text game, since his "lovebombing" gets referenced a lot, and he might have been charming on dates, too. It's always women who are saying that they judge a man for more than looks, so I'm not sure why so many of the comments from women so far seem to be just commenting on just his looks. Through text game alone, I've personally gotten women interested in me online who probably wouldn't have given me the time of day if I had approached them in real life.

I think that is what bothers women so much about this story - that they can fall for men's charms so easily and be fooled like this. It's like men who are criticizing other men for falling victim to the "women are wonderful" effect.
