There are more factors at work than social class and resources, including as you are referencing, but are not naming, male reproductive strategy.

Men of all types have emotional needs as well, and if conditions are right, a rich man might try to ‘lock-down’ a particular woman who meets his emotional needs particularly well. And, given the particular negotiation between those two people, marriage could be an outcome. Also, younger men, still full of illusions, may make choices consistent with their wishful thinking.

Human behaviour is not mathematics in the micro. Though, it can look super predictable in the macro, when studying a particular set of conditions. Like the weather, we know how weather works, but it’s just too big and complicated a system to be completely predictable to precise details.

You are right to a point, but as is common on PPD, you overstate things. Some rich men do marry whatever they want. A lot depends on the nature of the man's wealth and the circles he travels in.

Also, more important than a woman's money for a lot of rich men is her intelligence and ability to act class appropriate. Often, being class appropriate will require at least a UMC upbringing and maybe college. But some women are able to mimic upper class behavior based on natural talent. She also usually needs to be smart enough, at least street smart enough, to engage people in the man's social circle and not embarrass him. Real intelligence is a plus, but if she doesn't have that, then she needs the awareness of her limitations and how to maneuver around that. If she cannot talk politics and economics at a high level, she needs to know that and how to properly evade such conversations and engage upper class people from another angle.

I know in my own family rich husband marries women from poor family.

The way I understand it. There is a ego thing here where the guy feels emasculated if his father in law is bossing over his. He also wants to take advantage of his money power to impress and awe his wife.

It depends on what the guy is looking for. If he wants a power couple. Sure maybe he likes a fellow businesswomen.

But if he wants someone who will be a SAHM, educated, career oriented women isn't ideal.

Rich families have girls who are educated and typically have a career in mind.

Typically people move in similar socioeconomic backgrounds, proximity is needed for love. But wealthy men can marry broke women.

After a point more money doesn't help. What matters more is your lifestyle. No matter how much money you make if you don't pay attention to your spending you'll quickly go broke.

Often less wealthy women are low maintenance. The rich girls I met are daddy's princesses. Spoiled kids.

I can think of a couple of examples, off hand, of rich men marrying or common-lawing much poorer women. Old money men may be a bit less likely to do it than new money types (i.e. entertainers, athletes, self-made businessmen). But I've heard of some old money guys doing it as well.

Most people will marry within their own social environment, i.e. their own socioeconomic class, cause that's who they interact with and can relate to. There may also be social pressure to marry the 'right type' of woman, especially for old money upper class types.

Weird when you look at women of high value they often get with 'nobodies' they aren't getting men that are on their level or better than them. Look at Cardi-B dating a nobody or Iggy getting cheated on. I know this is of the entertainer circle but it applies to wealthy women across the board.

A good example is Halle Berry one of the most attractive women of her time, hyper successful and yet married 3 times and complaining about men. Women who are high earners believe that their money is enticing to men and it isn't. Men move mountains and go to war for a chance to lay with beautiful women. Not for a chance to lay with powerful women.

Also when men climb to the top a man doesn't care about a women's finance's. I've never once looked at a fine woman on the street and thought 'Daaaamn I wonder what her investments and liquidated capital look like.' I can promise you it never crossed my mind once.
This is why the princess Diana story is so popular, men will marry women far beneath them socioeconomically because that isn't what we're looking for. We don't care about a women's money, if she's beautiful, feminine, submissive in addition to having money than sure it's a bonus. But usually more money means more problems and strings attached, I didn't work this hard dealing with intolerable people to have to then be dealing with more problems in my home ledger.

If men were only looking to marry for wealth then you'd see rich men with women of all varying demographics but consistently you see rich men with beautiful elegant women. If there's one justifiable thing to spend money on it's for beauty. Art, atrocities, and cities were all forged in its name after all.

I’m a rich man, and I wouldn’t legally marry anybody because it is statistically stupid to do so, and also puts your finances in jeopardy because of leftist laws that were designed with good moral intent but resulted in a power imbalance of the sexes making marriage and the nuclear family move on a path towards extinction.

That being said, as a wealthy man I would absolutely marry (ceremoniously but not legally) a broke young woman rather than a wealthy woman my own age. I’d be the best husband I could be and start a family with her. All that matters to me is good chemistry, good personality/values, and good genetics. Her status/wealth are completely irrelevant. I find wealthy women to usually be too masculine and unattractive because of that.
