This comment thread got me thinking about this. The average woman is apparently 5’4” and 170lbs. This is approximately what that looks like. No offense to any of these people, but none of them would be my first choice to approach in a bar. For men it’s 5’9”, 200lbs which I imagine is approximately the same level of attractiveness.

It’s a common complaint on this sub that women are only interested in the top 20% of men, and that an abundance of male interest makes women over estimate their attractiveness or SMV.

Is the obesity epidemic compounding this sense of scarcity in the dating market? If there were a higher number of more attractive (less fat) women (and men?), would that change things?
