I might get a weird flair for this (but check my comment history, i'm no pushover), but....

I like FDS BEACUSE a Good man IS AMAZING the way a good woman IS AMAZING. and we deserve to become great women, who in turn enjoy the company of great men, which means we can't have our schedule clogged up with crap.

I don't disagree with this sentiment in the post so much as I disagree that the vast majority of dudes rise to the level of "men". same way a lot of gals fail to fully level up to being wonderful women (the difference is society gives guys a lot easier road to getting their shit together, while providing women with extra shitty minefields and manipulation and just a harder road.

Being a fully formed adult is not something that automatically happens when enough time passes. this post, applied to the correct population of people, isn't anti FDS for me. it's about reminding yourself that a quality partner that makes you feel passionately desired and protected and resepected is out there, and you are such a person yourself, and you don't ever need to take less than what you genuinely cherish when you have yourself.

This post is about the qualities the good ones have, that are missing from so many.

There are individual men who are like that, yes. And such a man absolutely is so loveable.

NOT ALL MEN.

Not as a class (as they see and treat us); not as a whole / social group. Then they are far, far away from that. So far we somethimes can't even imagine.

I'm happy for her because I think she wrote this out of love for an individual man.

But I so, so hope for it to not be just an illusion and a trap for her.

Also - this type of generalized thinking can be (is!) so dangerous. And now she thinks it's genuinely true, because of course every man who saw this left a comment praising this. But they didn't do that out of pure admiration for het and from melting over the "cuteness - factor" in that post. They do so out of the thought that this is in fact the pure truth and they can't do any wrong. But what if they act in negative ways nontheless - who else is left to blame? It's women. The mindset of women having simultaneously no say, no control and no capacitiy of even being able to do so and at the same time being responsible for the actions of men and their outcomes. And the thought that this is their right.

In a perfect world this would be such a sweet, lovely post. But sadly, the world we have to live in is far from that. And I fear for this woman. Also I have a feeling that lets me guess she is very young.... I really hope her opening her heart so wide open for that man (and with him a - sadly - unrealistic perception of all men) doesn't end in her heart being abused and shattered.

Gosh, that's so sad.

How many of us would love to be able (again or at all) to love men just like that, because we for the uttermost part just are like that.... but we can't.
