I think I pissed off an acquaintance during a small gathering. The topic of family came up and he said:

Feminism did good things, but it also made women into obsessive careerists who think they can have it all. Jane (not her real name) is smart and educated, but she knows I got her back financially so she can concentrate on raising our daughter instead of putting her in daycare.

I found the comment extremely hypocritical given the fact that he had been bragging about working for almost two decades in the private sector in a role that pays at least $200K a year, more than twice the median household income in my country, so I replied:

The only reason she can stay home is because your obsessive careerism is subsidizing her lifestyle, which I bet is nicer than the lifestyle of the majority of double income households. And she can't have it all because she threw away her career to take the slack of the work that you think you're too good to do. If you BOTH of you cut your hours you wouldn't have to put your kid in the daycare.
Needless to say, the gathering got very awkward afterwards.

Will I find someone? Im 18 and about to start college, I've been single for 3 years but had some hook-ups here and there. Mainly because of the pandemic. I'm average tall, maybe a bit under average. I'm fit with a nice body since I work out a lot and eat very healthily. I take care of my appearance, have an okay skin with a few scars from acne, but getting better.

I have some hobbies like cooking, playing guitar and drums, sports, investing, and traveling, I travel a lot. I'm already investing and making relatively good money compared to my friends and people of my age. I consider myself a 7 on looks, I've never been the hottest guy in the class that all the girls wanted, but I always had one or two cute girls interested in me. My concern is that my dream is to marry and build a family. I want to find my future wife, someone to spend my life with, but reading this sub and others, shattered all my hopes and dreams of meeting a nice girl and forming a family. Am I being dramatic or somewhat realistic because in today's society it's very hard to marry someone and form a family?

My baby choked on a carrot tonight I’ve never been so scared in my life. Thank the lord I was able to get it to clear.
