Society doesn't care to tackle this and even if they did there isn't the money for it. This will continue and we'll just have to witness how this general disproportion in loneliness evolves.

Like personally I think the future rise in extremism and violence won't be related to loneliness, just a coincidence. Plenty of other factors that we can see extremism rising.

Dating apps are not about primarily about sex.

Trying to force dating app numbers as a 1-2-1 about the SMP isnt going to get great results, many are built for and are used by women for the RMP.

With ones more suited to it, like Tinder, men outnumber women 3-1 up to 9-1 in some regions covering much of the disparity.

There are some men and women having lots of sex, the rest of the women are just trying to find someone they can call a partner. The issue is arising as there are more men wanting in on the 'lots of sex' stuff while the pool of women in those top % is not large enough to accommodate them.

The manosphere then takes it out on the lower/normal sociosexual women, trying to push for sex too early, assuming they're the same women in those top %'s when they never have been. The women without partners in their early 30s are not the high sociosexual bunch - those ones are married or on their second marriages already. It's women who have had a couple of relationships and -maybe- a ONS.

The article talks about enforced monogamy, but it also mentions more men wanting more sex than before. It's not just women's expectations that have shot up to create the current dating climate, but men's too.

This makes my head hurt.

1) the top 5% having more sex than the bottom 50% =/= the top 5% having 50% of all sex. The study claims the former, not the latter.

2) you can't conclude anything from comparing gini-coefficients like that. The Lorenz-curves can look vastly different even for identical gini-coefficients.

I might make a post about this later, but I'm not sure if you're all too statistically illiterate to deserve that much of my time anymore. If anyone here is interested, let me know. I might sacrifice an hour to explain why OP is wrong.

The casual sex market is ruled by dark triad types, nothing new. In most cases, it inherently takes a level of manipulation (lying, subtle suggestion, dominance of peers, etc) to get women to feel both comfortable and aroused, which requires a lack of empathy.

Your last stat basically says it. it's unequally distributed in both groups. Number of sex partners is also not comparable to wealth. It's bizarre to compare number of sex partners with wealth distribution. You MIGHT be able to compare # of sex acts to wealth, but number of partners is weird and has completely lost me. There is quite a natural explanation for the sex acts thing that has nothing to do with number of lifetime partners though. old people have less sex. it's simple.

The funny thing about this editorial is it cites so many irrelevant stats about number of sexual partners changing, but doesn't actually provide ANY study on the actual effects of sexual loneliness, which is the point of the editorial. If you're talking about an epidemic of loneliness, why the heck do i care about median number of sex partners vs sex partners of the top 20%? tell me about the actual epidemic lol wtf is this.

Alright. Well, the best solution I can think of before things get out of hand:

Round up all men who are not romantically or sexually involved in camps.
These men will be given the option of castration and rejoining society or remaining in the camp to sometimes be let out like the olden days to work on beautification and infrastructure.
The men who are able to demonstrate the right attitude towards this situation and get castrated may rejoin proper society and will be given a special food stamp style allotment to thank them for their sacrifice.
The men who cannot embrace this new life will live at the camp, but be sometimes taken on field trips for societal beautification and infrastructure stuffs. If they happen to find sexual and romantic relationship during this activity, they may rejoin society as they will no longer be dangerous.

I think with this sort of draconian approach, we can solve this issue within a single generation or so. Parents will naturally lean more heavily on sons to be socially involved and successful so as to prevent them from ending up prisoners or eunuchs.

Of course I'm open to other solutions, but I'd be careful about slinging phrases like state mandated girlfriend or, "women could just lower their standards", cuz that's eunuchs talk to me.

Im happy with the small amount of sex I have rn at 22 very busy with school and other stuff. Im a stereotypical “beefcake” lol which more so helps me with girls older than me not girls younger they like twink looking guys lol. Im not concerned. Remember sex as a guy isnt tied to your physical attractiveness alone or anything about you. Its how much you try. I BARELY try. I know ugly guys who make sex a huge priority and always need a gf.
