Men organize around things they care about all the time

Men have marched for equal rights for all races.

Men have marches for gay rights.

Men have marches in protest of the draft.

But these topics spiraled in size because a smaller group of people began to talk about and educate people on the topic and explain what’s wrong.

There ARE groups of people who are spreading awareness about the downsides of circumcision - many of these people are men. (Ie, my mom did some reading and decided not to circumcise her children based on available literature, even back in the 90’s.)

But atm, the US is having a “messaging” problem because ANYONE advocating for rights is deplatformed so it’s hard for anyone to organize at all. Which was the plan.

statistical parity through equity:

in short the issue is if we look at for example political representation or any given field of work like military service we would have to force people into positions they do not want or are not qualified for.

to reach "statistical parity" equality our society would need more conservative women like margaret thatcher, angela merkel, queen elizabeth, giorgia meloni, candace owens, rachel wilson OR get rid of conservatives.

liberals/progressives may not like that but abortion, parental leave, flexible hours, daycare etc are a "or at least should be" part of equality of opportunity and affirmative action/equity will not be enough to equalize outcomes if conservative women refuse to step up. just look at the representation by gender in politics and you will see that liberals/progressives are close to parity but not quite there yet already. in my opinion it is unreasonable/unrealistic to expect the democrats to consist of +75% women in power to compensate for the republicans and their consented nuclear family structure with its gender roles to reach statistical parity. it is also unreasonable to expect liberal/progressive people to equalize the most dangerous jobs through equity.

What makes you think they don't? Adoption of default joint custody and alimony reform is largely the result of campaigning by men (always fiercely opposed by women's groups).

In 2021, the National Coalition for Men took their case against Selective Service to the Supreme Court. Incidentally, a female SC justice authored the opinion tossing the case.

In 2011 male anti-circumcision campaigners got a proposal to ban circumcision onto a ballot in San Francisco. Incidentally, it was a female judge who ordered it removed from the ballot.

Men definitely do try, but society pushes back much harder when men organize around their own issues than when other groups do. That makes it a lot more discouraging over time.

If men advocate for issues like the draft, family court, circumcision, or false accusations, they're often labeled misogynists, insecure, or told they're trying to derail women's issues. A lot of people don't even engage with the argument. They attack the motives instead.

There's also social pressure from other men. Many men have grown up hearing that they should just deal with their problems, so some end up shaming other men instead of supporting them. That doesn't mean the issues aren't real. It just means the culture around discussing them is different.

None of that means men shouldn't keep speaking up. It just explains why it's harder to build momentum when the response is often ridicule or dismissal before the conversation even begins.

You have a lot of assumptions in there, like that men oppose the draft or that they do not speak up. A lot of men speak up and they're silenced, for example by being banned on platforms like this one. You're called a radical incel and righwing extremist for opening your mouth.

Regarding the draft, if men and women are equal, the question is: Why aren't women drafted? But I suspect most men do not actually want women to be drafted. But a lot of men also understand that this is a necessary evil instrument. It's just that men are institutionally forced to pay the ultimate price when it comes down to it, and at the same time you are constantly told that you're the bad guy.

Self preservation.

There is already a narrow window of what a man is allowed to be, and not fitting that narrow window has harsh social consequences.

From social ostracisation, isolation, virtually no chance at a romantic connection to outright mockery and socially acceptable expressed disdain.

A lot of us are aware of the unfairness of the draft, or how it's acceptable for women to hit men, or how retaliation is unacceptable, or legal bias against us, in both legal and civil cases, or how it's entirely acceptable to mock mens sexual assault to the degree where male prison rape jokes have even showed up on children's TV shows, the disparity in dangerous workplaces or so on and so forth.

But the consequences for being seen as a man who cares about, or is even aware of those kinds of things is too great.

IRL, I'd never let it slip that these are things I'm even aware of. I've literally allowed myself to fall victim to some of these issues without bringing up the unfairness, because it was less damaging to me to just accept it than it was to acknowledge it.

Your first error is assuming men are in favor of abolishing a draft. There may be some who are, but largely men accept that a draft is necessary. Thus, you will not find men organizing to abolish the draft "in the name of equality".

Circumcision is being talked about.

And that's it. Those are the issues you listed. Congratiulations on spending maybe 3s to think about it and then throw some milk toast opinion out to clown on men supposedly "not helping other men" and "fighting for equality". Let me give you some more:

- Male suicide rates

- Male homicide rates

- Male homelessness rates

- Paternity fraud

- Divorce rape

- Being treated as secondary parent (even though progressive circles say they want the same, their actions speak differently)

- Therapy being women-centric and discarding the male POV

- Societal double standards (google "my wife screams at me" vs. "my husband screams at me", hitting a man vs hitting a woman)

Men do help each other out. But when they do, it is a) immediately discarded as extremist/dangerous/misogynist/etc... and b) not like women expect this help to look like - MGTOW and TRP are some examples of it. However, when men organize and help each other out it works fundamentally different than what women would expect it to look like. The phrase you're looking for is "tough love".

Its a good question.
Partly because speaking up feels pretty pointless. Structural issues like male loneliness (female loneliness is also a huge problem but there are slightly separate factors) are VERY difficult to tackle. Just being vocal doesnt feel like it actually achieves anything.

Men sometimes do speak about such issues but sometimes to friends and family rather than publicly online.

And lastly because sometimes some men do care about these issues MORE in terms of being able to argue against women rather than as actual issues. The draft is an issue that I dont feel many men actually worry about in day to day life but its mainly used as a talking point.

The one percenters among men don't because they aren't the ones hurt by the problems men face. If anything, they're rewarded for speaking against them or pretending they don't exist.

Normal men know that they'll be attacked for it and be accused of being far right or even a rapist. They don't have the power or resources to protect themselves from that, so they just keep their head down. At best, they'll work with kids at a small, local level.

The only people consistently taking up the causes are the most toxic shits who only want to attack women. People who don't want male issues getting attention will use this to stop other men from taking up their own causes unless they're willing to side with the toxic shits.

Circumcision is always bad unless an adult or old enough person needs it medically or wants it for some other reason. I’m happy mine is intact, it looks better and feels better apparently.

I don't know how much of a history buff you are, but in WW1, and a lot areas of WW2, the soldiers didn't want to fight. They literally revolted, multiple times, on multiple fronts. The larger powers that be essentially make it so if you do do that, there's a 100% chance you die, as opposed to maybe a 50% chance facing the enemy.

This stuff is perpetuated by both men AND women, and often women's definition of masculinity matters much more than mens because, well, a huge reason men do the things we do is to be deemed attractive and valuable by women. Look up the white feather campaign in England during WW2... women essentially shamed boys who were conscious objectors or didn't want to go to war.

Systemic forces, perpetuated by both men and women, keep men down in the same way they keep women down.

Also, with Ukraine, there are actually two arguments hidden in there - one is speaking up about the draft in general, and the other is speaking up about unfairness regarding why the draft only includes men and not women. the first one isn't really about mens rights as much as war opposition.

Basically, both genders like women more. Thus women being treated better is the correct state of things to men and women alike.

Rich don't care, they pay their taxes and are the ones generating all of the revenue in the U.S. (I am glad they aren't fighting; they did their fair share). Women don't care, why would they opt for collective harm? Left doesn't care, they think men should sacrifice themselves collectively. Right doesn't care, they think men should do it for the good of society. All with no benefit for a collapsing society.

No one cares about the draft because it doesn't affect them right now. If they do ever try to implement it, there will be a huge backlash.

I cannot speak for all men, but if I were to answer the question it would be that I think I can influence/solve the problems by myself without needing to put in the effort to change the whole society around me.

Circumscision isn't a real problem in my country so I never really gave it much thought. Draft? well it's kind of a problem (I live in romania which borders ukraine), but the solution is to just flee if the possibility of war is very high (as a quite a few ukrainians did).

Another poster mentioned that us men don't have as big of an in-group bias as women do and we may seek to solve problems just for ourselves and close family/friends and care less about societal change. For whatever reason this applies to me even now that I have two kids. I want what's best for them, but it never was high on my priority list to go protest for draft or anything similar.

well i can never agree with feminist really because of certain women behaviour. but i do get confuse at who men are complaining at. i grew lower class right men around will sometimes rather shit on you than help in certain way so they succeed. even in college i see this. thats all it is competition. just reality of world all rich people for example i met most of where men and you go on. the poor people where i grew up where also women men children. my mom worked many job so i cant see how its all easy for women but it could be american thing. if men want to help men they can do so is basically what i try to say. they have resource to. most of resource actually. i think because men know men dont really have any want to help it would be nice for women to do more because that thing they better at doing. women are better with people and community and i bet i will be called misognyst for saying it. but they just refuse. it all just gets silly messages because men care most about dating.

Men don't have internal bias the way women do. Men don't tend to discriminate in favor or other men when they have the power to do so, unlike women who have been proven to have a very large in-group preference that leads to discrimination when women apply power unchecked.

As for why, my guess would be rape. Common threats bring people together; if there was a third gender that were always beating up and raping men, I imagine we would develop a much greater sense of community as well.
