I'm in my 30s, I hit puberty late but ever since my body started growing hair I've been looking for a way to get rid of it. Not because I think it's intrinsically gross but because we've all been conditioned to think it is. I mean women in commercials for hair removal products don't even have hair to begin with, it's absolutely ridiculous.

When the pandemic started I figured it would take some time to go back to normal. I decided to let work and studies take a backseat, devoting my time improving my mental and physical health. About two years ago I stopped shaving and trimming my pubic hair. I don't even shave the bikini line anymore, I just don't care and ever since my self-esteem have soared through the roof. That such a little thing could improve my confidence, I finally feel like a sexy, adult woman and the fact that I haven't before is almost upsetting to me now. Whoever created the narrative that women need to look young to have sex appeal can get fucked.

Some time ago a group of local artists arranged a course in croquis that I signed up for. I know I sound like a fucking creep but seeing a adult woman looking like an adult woman was a damn near spiritual experience and almost erotic. Tummy- and backrolls, cellulite, hair, scars and other "imperfections" (the fact that we even call it "imperfections".. ) is sexy af. Most models we see in public are white, skinny, young and hairless. The fact that my brain is telling me that pubic hair on adults is somehow norm-breaking is fucking sad but I am eternally grateful that you ladies played a major part on the decision to let my public hair be free and untouched. Thank you!
