I'll try to put a little spin on all these. Let's see how this goes.
Girls become women when they:
1) Follow you when you leave her.
2) Call you back when he hangs up on you.
3) Hug you after you hit her.
4) Kiss you when you berate her incessantly.
5) Watches action movies with you (okay, that one works)
6) Tolerates you cheering for your team (wow, two in a row)
7) Don't touch the remote, and watch whatever you want to.
8) Give up her friends to spend all her time with you.
9) Won't get all pissed off when you criticize her when she's driving.
10) Apologizes and then says she needs you even with all the above.

No, no, no... you've got it all wrong.
1: At least occasionally call the guy rather than wait for the guy to call them.
2: Take a call from the guy, she doesn't whine like a bitch because it's 10 minutes after she expected him to call, whine like a bitch because she's talking to a friend, whine like a bitch because he called her already today and now he's 'crowding' her and being 'clingy'.
3: Stop behaving as though everything is about them. Okay, he forgot to wash his plate, or he was in a rush. It isn't a secret message specifically to you saying 'I don't respect you'.
4: Shut the fuck up about the toilet seat.
5: Don't nag for the fucking sake of it.
6: Realise that he doesn't want to watch chick-flicks ALL THE FUCKING TIME.
7: Can be happy with the guy seeing his mates from time to time without banging on about 'emotional abandonment' or 'neglect', or without calling his trustworthiness into question every single time.
8: Allow him to arrange nights out with friends without her throwing a fucking psychodrama fit half an hour before he's due to meet them in order to force him to stay home.
9: Let a guy drive a car the way he damn well wants to drive the car, taking the route he damn well already knows.
10: Learn to say 'sorry' themselves once in a fucking blue moon.
This list could be a lot longer, but I have to take the dog for a walk.

Too bad these aren't equivalent.
*edit
I know no one will read this (this has been a long time after the fact, 9 days), I thought about deleting the post, but I stand by what I say.
Look, I think the OPs post is bullshit too, and I believe in Men's Rights, imagine that (though a few of the posts I see in this subreddit are barely blanketed misogyny) but these things really aren't the same.
8 for example:
Pass on booze night just to sit through her rantings. Ok, so he stays home once in awhile when she needs him. I would do the same for my partner. That is NOT "give up her friends to spend all her time with you".
"nag" is not "berate incessantly" and never has been. Nag connotates annoyance, berate is often done with anger and emotional damage (even if short term) such as "you worthless idiot, how could you forget to do something so SIMPLE, why did I ever marry you??"
Also "leave her" implies "breaking up" and "walk out" implies "I am so frustrated I left the room", or any other number of situations. In our society though, "left her" has a pretty understood meaning. "He walked out on her" has those implications as well, but the original post is ambiguous in this.
"Hand her the remote control" does not mean surrendering all rights to watch what you want 100% of the time.
Look, this is all just aggrandized and nonconstructive. If you want equality, go for equality, but this isn't equal.

[–]DarthOvious 15 points16 points17 points 14 years ago* (36 children) | Copy Link
Yep, but then it would help if their daddies weren't blocked out from seeing them by their manipulative and lying mother.
EDIT: Can someone please explain the downvotes? I'm a bit confused.
[–][deleted] 20 points21 points22 points 14 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Its reddit, don't fucking care about downvotes. Karma is worthless. Your message should be the most important thing. Most likely someone linked to SRS or from some other idiotic subreddit.
[–]Saerain 4 points5 points6 points 14 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Downvotes are objections in one way or another, and I think it's much better to want to know why someone objects than to be satisfied knowing that they do.
[–]DarthOvious 5 points6 points7 points 14 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
Hence why I asked. I think people are misunderstanding what I said. Are they suggesting it wouldn't help if mothers didn't block access for fathers to see their kids? Are they suggesting that not doing this wouldn't help girls who have daddy issues? Sounds to me as if they are stupid, of course it would help. Demanding fathers have access to see thier kids as a basic right is one of the things we argue for and use statitics that show that fathers being removed from their childs life damages them.

Most people recognize the difference between caring about equal rights for men, and misogyny.
[–]DarthOvious -2 points-1 points0 points 14 years ago* (15 children) | Copy Link
And how is it misogyny? Are you denying some mothers do this? My comment didn't say that all mothers do this my comment said it would help if women who did do it, didn't do it.
Honestly, some people are just reading this wrong. If you read my history then you would see I'm not a biggoted person.
[–]Phallindrome 2 points3 points4 points 14 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link
Your comment implied that girls who put up with physical abuse due to their "daddy issues" (absent fathers, assumably) HAD absent fathers due to deceitful actions by their mothers. Full stop. There was no stated caveat that not all mothers do that.
And yeah, I don't read peoples' histories before voting on their individual comments... sorry?
[–]DarthOvious -4 points-3 points-2 points 14 years ago* (13 children) | Copy Link
No it didn't, read it again.
But then it would help - It would be beneficial
if their daddies weren't blocked out - Under the circumstance that their fathers are blocked out
from seeing them - speding time with their kids
by their manipulative and lying mother - by a women who is decitful and a liar
Now why don't you take your hyper-literalist viewpoint and stick it up your arse. Its idiots like you who probably argue against the Bible because you're too stupid to understand that Jesus wasn't telling you to give all your money away.
And I don't go around falsely accusing people of biggots, probably because I'm not stupid like you and I can understand what people mean.
[–]Phallindrome 1 point2 points3 points 14 years ago* (12 children) | Copy Link
Okay. The problem lies here:
In English, using 'if' to express a conditional in this manner implies that the opposite is currently true. "It sure would be nice if I had a car" obviously implies that I don't have a car, for example. Now, I can totally understand this if English is your second language; counterfactual conditionals are complex and I believe German in particular does it differently. What you actually ended up saying was:
In the circumstance that girls have daddy issues, their dads are blocked out currently by mothers, and it would help if they were not.
You don't need to insult me, unless you're a r/mensrights troll. If that's the case (conditional!), you probably need to feel better about yourself and I support you.
P.S. Jesus did say that... He was quite specific about it, multiple times, and passed the message on to his apostles. However, Jesus is not the reason I am an atheist. I like Jesus, actually. Except for his weird fig-tree-curse thing, he was a really cool guy. I just don't believe god is real.
[–]DarthOvious -3 points-2 points-1 points 14 years ago* (11 children) | Copy Link
Oh look its hyper-literialist guy again.
No, the word "if" is attached to the word daddies. Hence why it says "If their daddies weren't blocked out...." Also the validation of the term being "blocked out" thus means "When daddies are blocked out.....". So the whole condition is set up under the circumstance that we are talking about daddies who have been blocked out from their childrens lives.
if - in case that; granting or supposing that; on condition that:
So it says, "It would help, on condition that their daddies weren't blocked out from seeing them by their manipulative and lying mother".
So the conditional language and validation is that daddies are being blocked out.
Sorry, you lose.
That makes me feel better from the guy who labelled me a bigot.
Somehow I knew it. Here's what to do. Look up the word hyperbole and learn its defintion. Afterwards you can read this link, "The words of Jesus in the original Aramaic" by Stephen Andrew Missick.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 14 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link
No, sorry.
You can't hide behind "the if doesn't necessarily imply the opposite".
You said "It would help if their daddies...". This cannot be interpreted as they are currently receiving said help.
[–][deleted] 9 points10 points11 points 14 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link
Why downvotes?
Because you suggested that the principal reason for "daddy issues" is that the father is stopped from seeing their daughter because of a manipulative and lying spouse?
A lot of single mothers screw over the dad completely. But to suggest that that is the only or even dominant reason is founded on bigoted opinion.
[–]DarthOvious 1 point2 points3 points 14 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
I didn't suggest it was the only reason. I think that is being read into my comment by others.
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 14 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
You phrased badly, then. When referring to the group in question, you said "their daddies". Very awkward to interpret that as "some of their daddies".
[–]DarthOvious -2 points-1 points0 points 14 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
I also said "it would help", what I didn't say was it would solve the fucking problem completely
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 14 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
That doesn't dispute my point. "Their daddies" implies the daddies of all of them.
[–]DarthOvious -1 points0 points1 point 14 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Actually the validation also included "blocked out".
What? It says "it would help if their daddies weren't blocked out from seeing them by their manipulative and lying mother."
How does that change anything?
[–]Toneloak -2 points-1 points0 points 14 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Bias, maybe but not necessary bigoted.
[–]hoodie92 1 point2 points3 points 14 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
The downvotes are for assuming that behind every scumbag dad is a bitch mum. I know that this is r/mensrights, and I know that many men are screwed over by the system when it comes to custody, but from your comment you are basically saying that it is never a dad's fault and that only women have ever caused problems to their children.
[–]DarthOvious -2 points-1 points0 points 14 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I'm not going to repeat myself, I have already explained my comment. In short the validation on the comment was daddies being blocked out. So you can only take into account daddies being blocked out.
[–]hoodie92 0 points1 point2 points 14 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I totally understand your point, what I said in my comment does not contradict anything you said, I was just pointing out ways in which what you said could be taken negatively... Hence, downvotes.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 14 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
No, its not "some" women. Actually the majority of women do that.
And "daddy issues" is not a valid point when 1/3rd of kids are being born out of marriage, and the kids that are born in marriage have a 50% chance of parents divorcing. "Daddy issues" is a real social phenomena. Its one out of every two women you will meet.
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 14 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I cannot disagree. I have dismissed those women as prospects.
Upon reflection I see that the post carries an implicit message of ownership of men by women.
In regards to 3, I have heard of men leaving women because of abuse. It was parodied by the sitcom Friends.
I do not understand 1. It speaks of a beaten man without self-esteem.
2 is just clingy, and creates an expectation of mind-reading, which itself fosters poor communication skills.
The remainder provoke unhealthy responses in me and I shall not address them now, or likely ever.

I think you might be confused as to what literature is. Literature traditionally connotes something a little more "weighty" than JPEG lists passed around Facebook.
The "literature" part was kind of a joke. People are taking this image far more seriously than it is. Literature is serious business, images by 13 year olds aren't, and yet the image is being taken rather seriously. Hope I explained myself well enough.

We're agreed then. I think it's a stupid statement in the first place, said by either gender.

Also, this makes me so furious for a different reason. My girlfriend is small and cute so when she shouts, I sometimes laugh and hug her and saw "aww". Happiness is when you achieve something.

Confidence isn't just the ability to accept a challenge head on, it's the ability to walk away from a challenge knowing that, yes you could, but you don't need to.

-- F. Scott Fitzgerald
A MAN has his own life and limitations and pride, and the ability to compromise. He neither dominates or 'submits' to his partner, but has an equal, respectful relationship with him/her.
Same goes for being an adult, no matter what gender you identify as.
He neither dominates or 'submits' to his partner,
Unless they're into that sort of thing.
[–]kosilar -1 points0 points1 point 14 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
A real, adult man would do several of these things, depending on the situation. Why don't I break it down for you?
[–]MsManifesto 7 points8 points9 points 14 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
I like how you complain about gendered stereo types only to come back with one.
[–]CJPJ13 5 points6 points7 points 14 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
It's in response. I get what you're saying, but we have to deal with this quite often.
[–]MsManifesto 2 points3 points4 points 14 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Don't both genders have to deal with this quite often? To me, the gender ideology which is pervasive in our society impacts both genders immensely. I therefore think if you have a problem with the way that gender is ascribed, then you must reject it in all forms. That means you view others as individuals, not genders. It also means being open and engaged with those that continue to perpetuate the gender ideology in their own lives, because they are unenlightened, and need to experience a difference in perception if ever they are going to choose to change.
[–]CJPJ13 1 point2 points3 points 14 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Undoubtedly, both genders have these sets of expectations and social codes. Which is why we should, in theory, be unified. I would wager we would probably agree on a great deal of matters.
I don't mean to sound combative but I therefore think if you have a problem with the way that gender is ascribed, then you must reject it in all forms.
By you, I assume you mean /r/mensrights at large. I don't think anyone here believes we need to subjugate women, but just as we fight for gender equality, we expect women to keep their end up. When shit like this post comes up, we would expect universal outrage, just like the "make me a sammich" posts that frequent r/feminism. Let's reject stereotypes against women, and vice versa.
[–]dermanus 0 points1 point2 points 14 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I'm not sure it's a gendered stereotype so much as an age based one. A mature woman wouldn't do the stuff in the OP, and a mature man wouldn't put up with it.
[–]MsManifesto 0 points1 point2 points 14 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You're right about it being immature. Even a mature woman that lives by her ascribed gender roles would never make such an unreasonable claim by which to define a "mature man." Not that gender roles don't all ready make ridiculous claims, but the OP is something certainly exceptionally stupid.
? "Girl" describes a person as being more than just female. The thrust of the image linked is that a male becomes mature when he is easily manipulated by an immature female. The comment you're responding to might not have had the most eloquent of phrasing, but I read it as highlighting how ironic it is that apparently boys become men when they meet the standards of girls and not women.
[–]MsManifesto 0 points1 point2 points 14 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Thanks for the insight. I agree that it certainly was ironic, and in fact, quite complimentary for the context of the OP.
What I was trying to point out is that because we all agree that the context/"mentality" of the OP is what is wrong about the post, bold facing "girl" is an inadequate, ad Hominem counterexample which perpetuates the problematic gender ideology in the first place.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 14 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Um...Did you just completely ignore what I said? I feel like I could just copy/paste my last response and it would be just as valid now as it was when I first wrote it. My whole point was that the emphasis on girl was not that girls are females but that girls are immature in the same way that boys are, i.e. because that's what those words mean.

[–]DarthOvious 31 points32 points33 points 14 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link
Its really weird, because most girls aren't attracted to men who do that, so its a vicious cycle.
1) Girl dates man, but man won't be her doormat 2) Girl complains about men not being her doormat 3) Girl doesn't notice man in office who is willing to be her doormat 4) Girl dates another man who won't be her doormat 5) Girl again complains about men not being her doormat 6) Girl still doesn't notice guy in office who is willing to be her doormat. 7) Repeat over and over, etc, etc.

While I agree that this list is terrible, I think this statement you made is a bit misogynistic. You're implying that women are some sort of an infantilized version of men.
[–]Demonspawn 36 points37 points38 points 14 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
You're implying that women are some sort of an infantilized version of men.
When you recognize that society has significant standards for a man's behavior but little to no standards for women's behavior, isn't society itself saying that women are an infantilized version of men?
[–]Hamakua 14 points15 points16 points 14 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
If nothing else, "no responsibility" is pretty much a characteristic all infants share.
[–]GavnLogic 10 points11 points12 points 14 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
In the movie As Good As It Gets, the main character, an author of romance novels, was asked "How do you write women so well?"
He responded:
"I think of a man... and then I take away reason, and accountability."
[–]Hamakua 1 point2 points3 points 14 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yup, Jack Nicholson and Helen Hunt IIRC (not the girl he talks to).
[–]adelie42 1 point2 points3 points 14 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
And in the context of a fantasy novel for which a reader is going to project their secret desires, it is neither sexist nor misogynistic.
The fact that a man might have different desires were they relieved of reason or accountability is a different issue
[–]GavnLogic 0 points1 point2 points 14 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Not quite what he meant, but I see where you're coming from with that.
[–]adelie42 0 points1 point2 points 14 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I call it being neither sexist, nor delusionally egalitarian.
[–]Demonspawn 5 points6 points7 points 14 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Yes, women have little responsibility because society does not see them as disposable like it sees men. When something is not disposable, it is extremely difficult to hold them to a standard of responsibility. If they fail to uphold the standard, what are you going to do?
[–]adelie42 2 points3 points4 points 14 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I think this can be individual. When I really stopped giving a shit what other people's standards of being a man were, first by men, then by women, I found 1) myself to be happier with who I was, and 2) other people to be happier with who I was. You could further substitute happy with respected.
Wasn't easy. Still learning.
[–][deleted] 13 points14 points15 points 14 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Not genetically no, but society has been encouraging it.
So yes, I do think women have become sort of infantilized in many areas - as that list shows. It isn't innate, it's what we've been allowing to happen when you start removing things like responsibility and you stack on disney-princess entitlement.

This sort of behavior, reacting like this to women, is not attractive to men or women. The only reason these lists exist is because the author is trying to believe things contrary to biology. Might as well say a "real man" rides a unicorn.

[–]lazylion_ca 9 points10 points11 points 14 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Here's my theory:
It's not that women think they can change men, or that they think men will change. Instead women of this stereotype believe that men are fronting; pretending to be something they are not. They believe this because this is exactly what they themselves are doing.
Once these particular women eventually feel comfortable enough around their new mates (read: get tired of faking who they are), they will begin to display their true selves. They then expect that the man will do this as well.
They are then surprised to find out that the person they are with is exactly what they appear to be on the outside. There is no inner caterpillar waiting to turn into a butterfly.
This is why women think it is ok to go for the "bad boy" type. They think that the guy is just faking. That he would never actually hurt them or cheat on them etc... That their wild streak is just for show.
This is similar to women who think their boyfriends are not open about their emotions, when in fact, they are just men with simple lives and nothing to be emotional about.

[–]RyanLikesyoface 4 points5 points6 points 14 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Most are terrible, but there are some (i.e. 50 First Dates, 10 Things I Hate About You, etc.) that are pretty good. It is hard to write off an entire genre like that.
[–]RyanLikesyoface 4 points5 points6 points 14 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
If one happens to be particularly good I wouldn't mind. I don't see how I have to watch something that I don't like to be a "Man" though. I wouldn't force it upon someone else.
[–]nunobo 0 points1 point2 points 14 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Again, I didn't agree with the title of the list, just that those things are reasonable things to do in a relationship. That is all.
They're predominantly comedies, using romance as a vehicle. Not Romances trying to be funny.
I beg to differ. Why watch a sob story if it makes you sad as a woman? And why go on a trip as a man if you don't know the directions?
[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 14 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I dunno. I don't expect to be forced to watch movies I'm not interested in... I don't see why anyone should be forced into watching 'romantic comedies'... unless it's a birthday treat or something...
Do people not understand that if you want to watch a movie your SO really doesn't... there are these people that we commonly call 'friends' that have similar interests to us that will actually enjoy the movie?!
I mean, sure, all for trying new things... but generally speaking, I don't think harmless leisure activities are the kind of thing you really need to compromise on that much.

ahahahaha... ha... ha... ha.
Instead of trying to understand, let's make a joke and fuck off. Good job.
Girls become women when they realize that demanding men to be servile is pathetic and wrong.
I'm a woman, and I hate that mentality too. I can't imagine making my husband bend over backwards for me like that and feeling like it's what he owes me just because I'm female. Ridiculous. I'd rather be in a relationship where the respect, the consideration, the tenderness is MUTUAL and from the heart rather than one-sided and the result of guilt trips.
[–]Greenei 2 points3 points4 points 14 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I'm pretty sure, that if someone actually acted "manly" after this definition the girl would make out with the next best douchebag, because the "man" is too much of a softie and can't say no.
In our defense, this was probably made by a thirteen year old girl.

[–]PublicStranger 2 points3 points4 points 14 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I had a boyfriend who did 1 and 2, and 10 to a suicidal degree. He was emotionally (and later physically) abusive. When I tried to break up with him, he would not let me go. He would not take no for an answer.
Non-abusers let you go when you walk away. They take you at your word. They do not attempt to manipulate you.
Whoever wrote this list is a broken individual—probably from an abusive home, where she normalized and adopted abusive habits. Numbers 6 and 9 are a particularly indicative of how ungrounded her sense of reality has become, that this is behavior she considers typical of guys. Numbers 2, 3, 4, 6, and 8 suggest she is a dangerously emotional person, likely suffering from a mood disorder like BPD.

[–]TheRealPariah -2 points-1 points0 points 14 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
"because death" doesn't attach to anything on the list whatsoever. Someone could follow the list word for word and still not give a shit about dying.
And who gives a shit if they wouldn't make an effective solider. Men are not disposable playthings to sacrifice to whatever cause you think is just.
[–]soundclip989 0 points1 point2 points 14 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Nor is willingness to die a characteristic of merit.
[–]altdetgoe 0 points1 point2 points 14 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Yep, send that type of "Man" into war please.
I interpret this as "send this type of man into war (meaning death)
You asked why, i explained to you why, or at least so i thought.
On a side-note i think they would make effective soldiers as they do what they are told.. Effective soldiers or not, some would still die, which is what thekvein74 thinks these men should, or that's how i read it anyway.
At no point did i say anything about sacrificing anyone, and when you ask a short question, you get a short answer. I think i answered your question, if you want another answer, i think you should phrase your question more delicate.
[–]TheRealPariah -1 points0 points1 point 14 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I said my piece. I don't care to bicker with you. He is trying to imply that the only sort of male that would do these is a pussy and pussies do not do well in war. This is a stretch and also implies they should be good in war.

Neither do I. I'm bouncing ideas, not necessarily saying they apply to me. People generally believe France is somehow far inferior to other militaries, so the reference made sense to anyone who has an idea of what some people see. I personally don't see the reason to put these types of "men" into the military.

How disturbed must a Female be to believe to expect this bullshit?
[–]Abe_Vigoda -1 points0 points1 point 14 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Ask my girlfriend. She expects shit like this all the time.
Really, this argument can be reversed because i've seen guys do this type of manipulative bullshit too.
I think it comes down to nurturing spoiled behavior during a young age. It creates a sense of entitlement. You can see similar traits in both genders.
However, attitudes get pushed into the public perception on how people are supposed to act, which is a massive influence on how people act and why they do it.
For men, we're pushed into this macho alpha image identifier. With women, it's the Cinderella syndrome. This image seems to push that perception.
Feminism isn't bad. It can be used badly though because it seems to push an image of strong women that are victimized by men instead of it's intended use, which was to give women true equality.
Men's rights is an ideological counter to that, in that many men feel victimized by feminist outrage and idealism.
[–]McFurious 2 points3 points4 points 14 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Feminism has never been about true equality.
[–]Abe_Vigoda 1 point2 points3 points 14 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yeah, that confirms some things for me. It wasn't a natural development but the agenda of academics.
That's always the way it works though.
[–]vgarrett 1 point2 points3 points 14 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link
Completely agree with you on the feminist issue and it's recognized mis-use. However, I was a spoiled ass princess ballerina as an only-child and it went to the degree that I dictated what we ate in my house. At some point we all have to grow up and face logistics and rationale, realizing that people - largely - react to decent behaviors and respects from other people and no one is more entitled than the next to be heard or be ranted to. Common principles of human interactions: "treat others as you want to be treated".
As far as Cinderella syndrome and womens rights and equality. Contradictory stances, entirely.
Feminists I have known have all been extremists and I think it really is crazy that they step on their own toes by then victimizing men. Makes them look ridiculous; then again, what hypocrite isn't laughable?!
How old is your girlfriend??
[–]Abe_Vigoda 2 points3 points4 points 14 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Like 30. She should be more mature but she's not. She was a spoiled princess and then her parents died and she's got a lot of problems coping with the loss and support.
I don't nurture her emotional requests and she rages like a 10 year old. I like her, but it's really hard to deal with someone whose never been told to behave.
It's absolutely contradictory because one side presents strong willed self determination while the other side promotes docile thinking.
It makes people expect others to solve their problems for them and that's a crappy attitude from any gender.
[–]vgarrett 0 points1 point2 points 14 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Absolutely! I hope she starts to evolve out of that.
Yes, fuck this mentality, fuck it right in the ass because that is what you're giving up if you want me to act like a fucking pussy the rest of my life.

Didn't notice the subreddit/title until after I read it.
Was just thinking that I highly disagreed with most things on the list, and that it's kinda annoying we're expected to act like that...
Then realize that this shit is a daily occurrence.
To be fair I'm certain this is written by a teenage girl, or a woman who needs to grow up. Either case it's safe to say no sane woman believes that.
Also if you change the title to
Girlfriends/Wives really appreciates it if their man sometimes:
and remove number 3 I find it's acceptable.
1) are you a woman?
2) do you date women?
If 1) then realize you aren't all other women.
If 2) Realize you haven't dated other women and move to 2b).
If 2b) some of us date a lot of women, and generalizations hold true to a normalized population [like all women.]
Anyone who does that (except for 5, 7 and 9, and you take turns on 7) is not a man, he is a whipped slave.

Both the comments on this post as well as on the picture don't really matter. There will be some relationships that are just like this that work and others that don't work like this.
Believe it or not there are guys out there that would enjoy doing every single thing on the list and then there are some others that won't. How two people share love really isn't a concern of mine or should it be a concern of yours even if you think its making the guy act accordingly to this list.

That's like saying "There will be some relationships where a man hits his wife and she's obviously ok with it because she doesn't call the police." or how about "When she says 'no', it means 'yes'". I guess abusive relationships should just be ignored since the way those dysfunctional couples "share love" isn't any of our concern.

Go fuck yourself.
50% of first marriages end in divorce. 70% of second marriages end in divorce.
Only 51% of American adults are getting married, as opposed to 70% 40 years ago.
88% of women will get child custody, and thus child support
93% of alimony is paid to women
93% of workplace deaths are men
99.99999% of military deaths are men
There is no wage gap, yet you will be removed from jobs because there aren't enough women
We'll see you in a few years when it affects you. You go boy!
I'm not saying I don't believe in equal rights, just that going on Reddit just to get pissed off about it every day isn't something I am interested in. :(
Again, don't worry! If you choose to have a wife or children, you'll get pissed off about it eventually!
Good luck!
I believe knowing about the issues is important because it keeps you informed about the current state of affairs. Mensrights is not all angry men, there are women here who have their husbands/boyfriends/uncles/children screwed over by the system. And there are gender egalitarians who are here because they find the issues faced by men equally valid to issues faced by women.
Where else can you get news about mens rights getting trampled on and people actually defending men? You can skip the comments and just read some of the articles we link to if you hate the atmosphere here. Either way it's up to you, but I believe this subreddit will always be open to anyone who believes in true equality between all genders.

Having someone follow you when you walk out or call you when you hang up is not a desirable trait. I had a boyfriend who did this. It was bad. I could not break up with him because he'd stalk me and harass me when I tried.
If I walk out on you or hang up on you, it's because I want you to leave me alone.
If you enter fight mode and punch him, then I dare say you'd rather he not hug you.
If he's "hugging" you in order to restrain you and protect himself, it's fully understandable. But if he's doing it to appease you and win your heart back, he's manipulative and co-dependent. A more sensible man would split.

Well, I disagree about those two, personally, but to each their own. It's more that I feel persistence in general is helpful.
Yeah, could be. I'm not the kind of person to walk out or hang up unless I really mean it—so once I've reached that point, my mind is made up and I'm not interested in hearing counterarguments. This has only ever happened in one of my relationships, which ended four years ago.

/r/mensrights doesn't hate women, we hate feminists
My personal takes on these (in order): 1) If you walked out on him that's rude. 2) What if your phone died? 3) To a guy that probably doesn't hurt. 4) JUST TO SHUT YOU UP 5) ...okay you got me there. 6) Cause he might've cried over their favorite comic book hero too. 7) Cause nothing good is on. 8) He doesn't drink (Well I don't). 9) Because he's too busy listening to the GPS. 10) For the same reason you would: Guilt.
Idk, thoughts?
