Yes.

You seem to be talking about something close to communism more than like, democratic socialism. But in the kind of socialist economy you're talking about, a guy buys a truck and a whole bunch of groceries, and starts a food truck. He owns the truck and the groceries, he cooks the food, if the food truck fails, it's his loss.

Add more workers, and it's just that all of this ownership is spread out from just the one guy. It probably takes a lot more time to start a business, because you'd have to raise the startup capital in small pieces from savings--or find the equivalent of angel investors who also want to physically work at the business.

Tax structures in heavily socialist economies are absurd, so there is no incentive to be rich. Thus, there is small or no private economy. This crushes the entrepreneural spirit of an individual in such a economy.

Heavily socialist countries used to run under the notion that the politburo or the communist party in China's case knows best, they know which businesses to start, when and where. A simple paper by Friedrich Hayek, "The use of knowledge of society", which won him the Noble Prize, refutes this, by explaining a fundamental idea that every individual's life experience, knowledge and skills are unique, and party bureaucrats can never be so brilliant to substitute all these individuals in an economy.

Learning from this, China adapted to State capitalism, where the entreperenural spirit still flourishes, but is subject to the whims of the party if they get too big, like Jack Ma.

You are mixing it up. Heavily socialist economies have high tax rates. In these economies, governments own everything you produce, so if you are a farmer who has to give up most of his produce to the government for free, you are being taxed very heavily.

Capitalists systems revolve around the concept of money, so tend to become more debt burdened. Look at every country that is heavily capitalist. Many are more than 100% of Debt to GDP. That money will be payed back with either a devalued currency or future tax burden.

Forgive me, but I think you have little knowledge of finance. Debt is not a bad thing as long as you have an ability to pay it back. An individual can have a mortgage and a source of income and he is perfectly fine.

Capitalist economies that have the ability to pay back their debts are good. Debt can be either foreign debt(external) or internal debt. Debt that is foreign can cause currency issues. All debt is usually not foreign. Internal debt is again not bad if you have the capacity to pay it back.The people or institutions from whom you borrowed believe you have the capacity to pay it back.

Foreign debt is more dangerous as failing to pay can have consequences in the international market. As long as domestic debt does not spiral into fiscal deficits or high inflation, it is not bad. Yes, high debt will lead to decrease in future growth, what you borrowed in the present needs to paid back in the future.

That's not a tax, but just redistribution. A tax would be from your own wealth or income. Since the farmer in a socialist system doesn't own the land the produce was grown on, it isn't possible to "tax" this farmer. This would be like saying in a capitalist system that since a worker gave more produce to the public than they were paid for, it was a "tax". I would bet a tomato picker could easily pick 1000 tomatoes a day. Let's assume that this is 350 lbs of tomatoes and tomatoes go for 1.89 a pound. That means the worker should be paid $660 for the tomatoes. But the worker probably only gets 50$ of that at most. So according to your idea of a tax, this worker was taxed significantly more than a socialist system. So there is no proof that socialist systems "tax" more than capitalist systems. Those values for taxation are arbitrary and only based on what you think is fair. There is proof that capitalist systems can produce more GDP than socialist systems, but that wasn't your original argument.

Because the interest rate is fixed, and the money will be payed back with printed money if the economy can't afford it. The government can't file bankruptcy proceedings like a corporation can.

There are always bond yields, especially long term bond yields, those are good indicators of future ability of a government to pay back the borrowed sum.Invester confidence in them is still high, i don't think everyone can be wrong at the same time, especially when there is money to be made or lost.

Just like in most capitalist systems 90% of the wealth is owned by 10% of the population (all wealth including the stock market, land, buildings, and farms). Most people that think they own their house indeed do not. There is a paper that gives title to the bank in the event you miss even one mortgage payment. I don't even like socialism that much, but I do think it is worthwhile to talk about alternatives. If only to challenge your own preconceived notions that capitalism is the best system out there.

You may not realize this, but bond yields are propped up by printed money. Also, the investor doesn't invest on the capacity of the government to pay. Not paying is not an option according to the constitution. The government will cause fiscal austerity and inflation if they need to pay back the debt. There is no promise that as long as investors keep putting their money there, that it will be payed backed without a hiccup. PRC and USSR are old style socialism which I believe use committees to determine funding. Also, the concept of debt doesn't really exist in such scenarios. Correct this idea if you believe it incorrect, but the state would fund the business. So if it lost money on the venture, there was really no one to pay the money back to. The state could demand repayment, but that would just be by selling off all the capital assets. Beyond that, there was nothing else to recoup the money.

The above question is referring more to co-ops which is more a hybrid between capitalism and socialism. In such a scenario, debt could be introduced by private creditors (since this system has aspects of capitalism). If that was the case, the creditors would demand repayment of debt from the owners of the company (which would likely be the employees)

You implied that it's more important than everything else, you implied that without it, everything else is irrelevant, right here look,

There’s very little variation in how different women rate men’s physical attractiveness - we overwhelmingly find the same men attractive, and the same men unattractive

Our variation comes in with the “extras” a man needs to have, and how his particular equation of looks + attributes appeals to her, personally

I'm not saying the extras don't matter(believe me all I care about is the truth, I'm the furthest thing from an Incel), I'm(well you are) saying that without looks, the extras don't matter and vice versa, to put it simply, I'm not as attractive as any woman but I do believe that I'm an attractive male, and because of that I have the luxury of choosing women, if I was like women, having the choice between say, Simone and Jasmine, both are short, nice shape, fat ass and cute face, but Simone is slightly more intelligent, has a cool personality and always assumes that I'm in need of a hug or a kiss, so I choose Simone, now if Simone wasn't hot, I'd have chosen Jasmine, which is basically how you explained is how women choose men, on physical attractiveness, and you can't say that it's based on physical attractiveness ONLY because the extras are just that, extras, if one attractive guy doesn't have the extras you desire, then you'll choose another physically attractive guy, it wouldn't matter if there is an ugly guy with all those extras because he isn't hot, so he ain't in the running.

Look I'm not blackpill and I don't care to debate this with you, all I care about is why people don't acknowledge these what these dudes are saying? Rather than doing that and telling them to pay for prostitutes, people here bully these dudes and even go as far as to call me blackpill and shut me down for suggesting they visit prostitutes which is a valid, practical piece of advice, is it not?

Well DO understand that most of these black pill guys don't meet the looks/height threshold so at that point, nothing else would matter simply because they can't pass the threshold even with modern science and medical technology.

I would consider myself a hard 5, but with a good workout/diet routine and some filler, I could probably be a 7 given my face isn't severely deformed and I'm 6'3. Of course in the process of saving money for surgery and spending time to build a good physique, I would sacrifice developing other qualities. Since I have a good height, decent face and large frame, I could pass the looks threshold with enough time and dedication.

The point is, guys like me have a good foundation that we simply need to work on and therefore we see the benefit if developing other qualities. The black pilled guys usually don't even have a foundation (that foundation being height, endowment and frame).

There's a huge double standard when it comes to evolution; if a woman only wants to procreate with top tier men, then thats her choice to do what she wants with her body but if the rest of society refuses to help take care of her offspring, then its seen as selfish and inconsiderate? No, no thats not the way evolution works, its all or none (pair bonding OR tournament dating). Survival of the fittest means just that: survival of the fittest.

If a father has such good genes, then his offspring should have no problem with growing up in austere conditions. If not, then the father is not all that genetically superior and the mother simply made a bad choice.

Edit: AFBB is not natural nor is it survival of the fittest, if we as a society truly want to have survival of the fittest then it should be every person for themselves and there should be no society at all. AFBB is just good looking men taking advantage of society and abusing the ugly men the same way rich people take advantage of society and abuse the poor.

I personally don't really care one way or the other.

I’m all for helping people who are struggling get on their feet. ....I’m not for helping a bunch of privileged men whose “problem” is their own sense of entitlement.

The problem with your argument is that you don't define the men that are struggling. You may believe that all men are privileged, which is what many women believe on this subreddit. So according to your own words, there would never be a circumstance where men could get help. You also seemed to hint dating struggles don't matter. And you offered no solutions on economic struggles. You seem to be very proactive to make sure women get help (and were quick to defend your argument that women should be able to pick top tier men and have the rest of men pay for their choices- which is what your original comment was a reply to), but aren't very proactive about men. Not sure this is exactly how you feel, just getting that impression from your tone of language.

My point was the responsibility of the whole tribe to look after the tribe, including children as a group. Before and during Paleolithic societies humans didn't operate in two parent households, they operated as a unit. The makeup and exact roles in those groups may have been different in different times and places, from family groups to later 500~ tribes.

The next comment was about how humans are selfish and there is no incentive for low tier men to take care of others offspring, which wasn't really an option at all prior to the advent of agriculture (12k years) and the concept of private land - even then we step into feudalism and those at the top, new high tier men collect taxes, retain wealth and retain women. What this did change was a higher prevalence in a particular sexual strategy, offering of wealth to women as sexual currency to secure a mate, essentially the betabux strategy. At this point even in polygamous societies a majority practiced monogamy or serial monogamy because resources are finite.

People who didn't want to help were ousted from the group (which for much of human history was a death sentence in itself) or killed otherwise. Ones who do not contribute by choice, or resisted 'their place' were unnecessary.

And it's not all that different to how we still operate.

The idea that if lower tier men (which I'd pin somewhere around 20-40% depending on time) didn't have sexual access to women they would just go be lone wolfs or revolt is weirdly romanticized.

Chad is probably not the best word to describe the top men at any one point in history, because who are top men, and the characteristics changed throughout depending on the immediate threats to the tribe or group, with it our sexual strategies have changed to accommodate.

A lot of the time, it seems like women base their concept of "love" around men who can inspire the most broad range of emotions from them. Women have to be happy, sad, angry, afraid, bored, and a little disgusted on a constant basis to feel any sort of emotional attachment to a man, and too few of these emotions and/or in too small quantity creates lukewarm-ness and indifference.

I say this as a guy who watches as their friend's girlfriends continue to be with them despite being treated rather poorly as far as relationships are concerned. My friend that I'm staying with made his wife cry during dinner last night and he constantly acts annoyed by her like she's his biggest problem in life and tries to control her. Yet, after a long talk with her and her bottle of wine last night, she still loves him and wants things to be like they were when they first got together.

Both. Agreeing to a date is tacit approval for some physical escalation but there will be hints during the date if she’s into more or not. For example if you touch my arm and I lean into you, you can try escalating it to a leg touch. If I shirk away I’m not into it and that’s when the date probably isn’t going further.

Also, it looks like a woman commented below that she'd be very turned off by a man escalating on an early date, but I assume she's in the minority.

I simply said that non-psychopaths will have kinship ties and feel hurt when a kin dies, and so empathy allows them to potentially temper their actions for any non-survival harm compulsions they may enact on those in the broader tribe/community.

Aside from family and "friends," that's not how empathy works. Empathy isn't controlled or only directed at certain people that the brain chooses for some nebulous reason.

Here's a source if you're interested in reading which says that some neural components are present for the building blocks that give people the ability to develop empathy, but that it is ultimately a skill that needs to be developed. Its not exactly inherently present in everyone - it is learned.

What always happens with the OKC data is it's people talking about the data in the graphs vs people reciting OkCupid's "analysis" (presumably because they're not numbers and data types). The problem is that for people who do speak numbers and graphs, OkCupid's "analysis" and narrative about the graphs amounts to a handful of frustratingly bizarre wierdo novelties. It's very much "we've got some data but rather than tell you the results you want to know we invented an these strange ways to look at the data and beat around the bush".

The thing is that what OkCupid wrote about their data was pretty obvious bullshit and marketing spin. Basically at each and every turn rather than stating the simple and obvious result (whatever it is) using data that they obviously have, they instead concocted all these byzantine ways of looking at something else.

People who are good with data and statistics can see what's going on. It's one of those "lies, damn lies, and statistics" situations. The charitable interpretation is that doing the obvious thing would reveal information they don't want investors or competitors to grok. At one point I worked through their published data to see if I could figure out the active user gender ratio. And it was pretty much impossible. So my most charitable guess is they don't want anyone to realize how extensive a sausage party it is. But Ashley Madison also revealed that these sorts of sites go to great lengths to keep males engaged with fake profiles etc. So they could also have been trying to avoid revealing that sort of thing.

Today I saw an absolutely beautiful girl walking around, perfect body, a face that has flaws that only makes her even more beautiful.

I then started thinking and tried to imagine being in her shoes. What if somebody like myself randomly approached her with the obvious intent of wanting to eventually have sex with her; how would she feel?

We are so close to being done

Both of us knocked ourselves out this past week, but especially today

BF completely cleaned the garage, top to bottom - we could barely get into it earlier, and now it’s basically empty (his grandfather kept a clean garage, but there was a LOT of crap in it. And the contractors used it to keep a bunch of shit for the house too, which was not organized at all. The haphazard piles of 2x4s alone were taking up a stupid amount of space, let alone the spare crown molding and baseboards)

I washed every. Fucking. Thing. That was going into the kitchen - every countertop appliance, pot and pan, sure, but everything right down to soy sauce bowls and corn on the cob holders. Even my spice containers were bleached and sanitized. Got the kitchen completely organized and put away, lugged multiple pieces of furniture up to the attic and down to the basement, helped the bf a bit in the garage (only when he needed it with big stuff, that was totally his accomplishment)

Exhausted, aching, swollen, but very very happy and feeling accomplished. Contractors and the fencing guys should be totally wrapped up this week, which means we should be in a really good place come next weekend

This has been a fucking process, but I don’t have a single regret. I’m so, so happy

As someone who was...put through things of similar nature...for years, I'd say that the physical aspect of being used wasn't nearly as bad as being gaslighted. One abuse hurts and makes you feel disgusting, which is horrible, don't get me wrong.

But being told everyday that you're misremembering conversations, that events never happened, that your books were never on that table, that your car wasn't parked there...it massively fucks with your head. You must have forgotten to buy the juice, even though you specifically remember putting it in the fridge. And then an hour later when it is there, well it always was. No, we never had a conversation about it. What are you talking about? When the juice is more than halfway empty...that's because you bought it a few days ago, not just yesterday. Yes, physical and sexual abuse is absolutely terrible. For many (thankfully not all) people those are exclusions to relationships. Which is fair, not everyone is emotionally strong or empathetic enough to have a partner who went through that, whether man or woman. But I'd say mental abuse is more important in many ways. If she's got PTSD or other mental issues she wouldn't be able to take care of my children properly, or worse might mistreat them even unintentionally.

That's entirely fair, although it differs from person to person. I watch my toddler/baby nieces and nephews frequently, and it's exactly the same as when I was growing up helping to raise my brothers and sisters. Excellent birth control lol, but there's nothing about children that is triggering for me. If someone did have a trauma trigger related to children, then yeah, that's certainly not safe.

I'm wondering how you would be able to tell if someone has past trauma though? Unless you're a psychiatrist or psychologist or therapist as your career? My FWB knew me very well for 2 years (21-23), like hanging out for hours numerous times every week, and didn't know about any of my trauma until I told him like 5 months before we started having sex. Granted, I'd been living on my own since age 17, so even before he met me I had 5 years of working on myself. I was a very different person at 17 vs 21, because trauma doesn't stay raw. We wouldn't survive as a species if it did. It's like any other wound...eventually it heals in a healthy environment, especially if you're actively taking care of the damage. So just curious how you'd be able to tell. Like what signs do you think would be out in the open for you to see?

If you are looking to date someone, not be with them everyday, and have dates every second weekend dating a single mom who is not looking to make you a dad can literally be the best of both worlds. Single with a love buddy.

I have know single mom's who are looking for a new dad, and single mom's looking to enjoy the weekend off with someone. When I was young the former was the norm, today the latter is the norm.

Women in your age bracket also grew up with stepdads they didn't like, just like you. Those that have their shit together do not want to repeat that situation.

You will not get your mom needs met by a together single mom, unless you want to be a stepdad/love kids a together single mom will not make you a part of their household. But if you are in the stage in your life that you want to do things with someone (concerts, hiking etc) but are not ready to settle down single moms can be great girlfriends.

I've said before I dated 5 men as a single mom, no regrets from the guys, even a couple of wedding invitations.

The guys I dated wanted kids, I was done that, so we knew going in that we were here for a good time, but not a lifetime. No regrets on my end either, and when it ended it was not a horrible thing.

Mom needs? Not sure who you're talking about, but I'd like a partner. I've had the opportunity to have 2 long term ones and a couple of short term ones. Not looking for a mom to mommy me, but thank you for the offer. I'll pass, and I'm sure you'll understand.
