Slight paraphrase from JP who personally I find a bit unhinged in some of the stuff he comes out with and the Twitter rants, but putting that aside.

I know a lot of men look up to JP (or used to before he spun out) which I always found interesting as this statement goes against a lot of the RP beliefs.

I know that RP is heavily based around self improvement so in a way it does align, but a lot of RP content is based around calling women entitled, hypergamous with unrealistic expectation and standards, and that’s why so many men are single and struggle just to land a date.

I think the main problem with those men is the fact when you have that level of derision and vitriol for women… yeah, no shit they aren’t going to be into you.

An issue with online dating is that most men can’t create a decent profile. I’m in a LTR but my friend will show me her Hinge and so many guys who actually could be good looking have awful profiles.

Dry, basic captions/prompt answers, cringey selfies/pics or so low quality you barely see what they look like. I’ve actually helped a few of my guy friends with their dating profiles and they got a lot more matches just by choosing better pictures and captions.

It’s ridiculous when men here say women only want tall, rich, handsome guys, the 666 etc. Go outside. There are so many couples where the guy is out of shape, short, broke and he still has a gf. I’m not denying those traits help with dating, ofc they do, but they’re not the be all and end all.

I agree with this statement and but also that it goes both ways. If a woman says that all the men she dates are toxic etc then there’s a very good chance that the call is coming from inside the house.

A few years ago I was one of those “all the men I date are trash” girls (I was 18-20 so go easy on me) and it wasn’t until I actually worked on myself and my mindset that I met someone wonderful. Luck and chance play a huge role, but if I’d met him while I was in my old state of mind, it wouldn’t have worked out.

It comes down to having an external locus on control, believing that your misfortune is everyone’s fault but yours so there’s nothing you can do to change it, which ends up being a self fulfilling prophecy that keeps you stuck. When I believed “all the men I date are trash” I was dooming myself to that outcome.
