It’s not about if he is physically attractive. Anyone who isn’t blind can see he works out and takes care of himself physically but being physically attractive isn’t the end all be all of attracting women. Also that much muscle isn’t everyone type. Men here are trying to push looksmaxximg and paring off based on looks above all else but overtime looks will fade and people need to have something in common that they share to bond over that will keep them together.

I dated an Instagram fitness guy with a similar look/vibe in college. He wasn't my usual type but he approached me and seemed nice so I decided to go for it.

Big mistake. You would think that validation from thousands of social media followers would be enough for these people, but it isn't. He was constantly sending me photos and wanting me specifically to compliment his body. I told him multiple times as a young practicing Catholic woman I didn't think "thirst traps" were appropriate to send to your SO, particularly after she's expressed multiple times that she's waiting until marriage. Let's just say he didn't like that.

Back in the day when I was young and attractive I still wouldn't have dated that clown. I've never in my life found overly muscly men attractive - his chest is actually disgusting to me, it looks really wrong and not how a human body should look.

While that guy can get "young and attractive" girls, it's the ones who are into that look. There are many thousands of others who aren't. Beauty is subjective - while I find his body disgusting to look at, clearly others will admire it and find it nice.

Just like how some of the guys I find to be absolutely beautiful aren't to the taste of others. But that doesn't mean they also aren't attractive to other young and attractive women, it's just a different set of young and attractive women. I don't understand how you absolutely continually don't understand this despite it being pointed out to you already.

Plus the guy you've posted looks like a total tosser. Yes he'll attract people who like that kind of thing, but there are lots of very different people in the world who are attracted to all sorted. All "young and attractive" women do not like the guy you've posted.

I would suggest that the disparity on Reddit is because women who are into love island, towie, going to Dubai and Instagram influencing aren't the same ones who hang out on Reddit, who generally have a broader and more varied set of interests and their taste in what makes someone attractive is going to vary accordingly. And just because the men they like don't fit your ideal of male beauty, doesn't mean they aren't attractive to plenty of other young and attractive women who do happen to like that.

He's an attractive man. He will appeal to his female equivalent. Women are not as deluded as a lot of men on here say they are and a woman who is not young, attractive and into that Instagram lifestyle won't want him as they know he will at best pump and dump them, if he is interested at all.

Do I think that man is visually attractive? Yes. Is he the only type of man I find attractive? No. Do I think that man would be interested in a committed relationship with me, even if I were in his age bracket? No, so I wouldn't be interested. I'm not his type, I know it and so would he.

There is no "disparity" as you put it.

A man or woman can do very well being more than just average levels of appealing to only a small percentage of the opposite sex so long as that person leaves their home in ways calculated to encounter those people, knows how to recognise when those people are attracted and is willing to be flexible about how far down their own preferences of attraction they date.

There is no disparity there.A person only attractive to a single digit percentage of the opposite sex can have a whole lot of casual sex. Doing this does however require them to have an outgoing nature, some perceptiveness and a willingness to lower standards themselves.

I always get confused at posts like this because being a successful guy throughout life does not equate to looking ripped. Sure, this guy is physically attractive and takes care of himself, but not everyone like that will live a rich and successful life. If you want success and joy in life, then go to college, study, socialize, and take care of yourself physically and mentally.

Well for me personally this guy(purely judging of his social media) seems vapid and into himself. Not the kind of guy I would want to start a life with. Is he physically attractive? Yes, obviously. Is he attractive as a future life partner(for me)? No. Also for me personally I’m not much into six packs. I’m attracted to muscles, but a full six pack for me is just a bit of a turn off.

"Attractive" seems to be equated to "bf material". But does the guy being "bf material" matter at all? The real question should be whether they are aroused by the guy or not. There's a difference between attraction and arousal.

Arousal: he gives her the tingles and is genuinely sexually desired by her. (AF)
Attraction: he doesn't arouse her quite as much, but he's a sensible and solid bet on the long run. (BB)

The answer where 90% of PPD girls thinking he's not attractive might be correct if you consider his decreased long term reliability, but it doesn't cover the more relevant question if they were to be aroused by his physique or not. Most men want arousal from their partner, because that's where a man's sexual validation comes from.

It's not that he's unattractive physically, it's his photos themselves. They imply a level of narcissism, as if he's in-love with himself. It's kind of... feminine.
It's possible, that these girls just think they aren't good enough for him. They are insecure, and so they get defensive.

Go to a meet up with drunk girls and talk about dating/sex. They will tell you things sober women will never mention. Assuming all the female commenters on that post were drunk, you'd have very different responses.

To be fair, men also cap when female celebrities or IG models get posted here. There's dudes who will claim Taylor Swift isn't all that hot when they know damn well, if a Taylor Swift look-a-like was single and interested in them, they would date her in a heartbeat.

It's actually a psychological thing for which I have no definition for. But people are often more hyper analytical or hyper critical when it comes to analyzing people being presented as "attractive" on the Internet than they would in ordinary settings.

That's why you have to take both sides' claim with a grain of salt when it comes to these things.
