I’ve been men body shame women for not being thin enough, thick enough, tall enough, short enough, dark enough, light enough, boobs too big, boobs too small. Do you all remember when Magic Mike and Chocolate City came out? Men lost their fucking minds over how unfair and sexist it is to make movies about gorgeous male strippers because it's shaming "real" men. Women were VERY quick to point out how impossible beauty and body standards for women are constantly, constantly shoved in our faces ALL OVER THE PLACE ALL OF THE TIME. I was dating a man once and was explaining a small scar on my face from a surgery I'd had for a medical issue. I pointed to another spot and said something silly like "and this is busted blood vessel that's healing from being clumsy" and he replied "yeah I'd been trying to tell if that was a permanent problem". If you ask me, I don't think we body shame men enough.

When women are body shamed, we try to improve our appearance by losing weight, getting plastic surgery, and spending tons of money on hair/nails/makeup/clothes/whatever.

I am not seeing anywhere near that kind of grooming effort from heterosexual men. Maybe if we start body shaming men, they will start washing their shit-caked buttholes and start flossing their nasty teeth.

The way I see it, there are two ways to achieve "equality" in this area: we can either body shame women less or we can body shame men more. Women have already tried the former, and men haven't stopped; if anything, they've doubled down. It's time these assholes get a taste of their own medicine.

You know what, I've never seen a woman rate a man with this system. I've only ever seen men use it. In fact my ex's scumbag-manipulative-piece-of-shit-daddys-money friend relied on it as the only math he ever did. I do think that some commenters here should hold back sometimes in how they express their dislike for certain appearances. Personally I don't like to comment on things people can't change, and I hope no one here stoops to the level of analyzing a person's appearance the way incels do.

That being said, some of the heat comes from women speaking in more detail about what they like, that men simply aren't used to. For men it's something like being thin, having a medium build, being muscular, being stocky, or being fat. For women, when they enter the internet, read magazines or even hear people talk, it's it has to be this shape of legs, this type of hair colour and eyes, this amount of muscle or fat and where it is placed, this shape of lips, this shape of feet, this shape of jaw, this shape of breasts, this shape of nipple, this type of labia... etc.

We have always had opinions on what we like, but rarely do we actually say them out loud in more detail. This subreddit just made women more honest. Maybe this is surprising for people. However men had an abundance of pretty women to look at, because many try to become as attractive as possible, and they get more visibility than less attractive women, so men start taking pretty women as the standard appearance for women. When there is nothing left to pick apart because they are all beautiful, they focus and nitpick on small details that don't matter anyway. Unless men stop nitpicking, maybe things will equal out when women start doing it too.
