So I have been thinking about this for a few days. I noticed men on here seem to think that if they are struggling to get dates or no one will date or sleep with them then that is oppression, and they are being oppressed. Also that how dating is currently is unjust and women are oppressors.

Oppression is malicious or unjust treatment of, or exercise of power over, a group of individuals, often in the form of governmental authority or cultural opprobrium. It is related to regimentation, class, society, and punishment. Oppression may be overt or covert, depending on how it is practiced.

Women are not "oppressing" men by the men not fitting into what they see as attractive. Sorry but struggling to get dates etc is not oppression. It would be like me saying I got bad grades in highschool and failed to get into university so that's oppression. Just like if someone doesn't find someone attractive and doesn't want to have sex with them for XYZ reason, that is not oppression.

It is personal preferences and a standard based system, not oppression. Having preferences that people don't fit, is not "unjust treatment" or "malicious treatment of" or "exersizing power" over men.

Furthermore it implies that men have an innate entitlement to dating, sex and relationships with women (no matter how the women feel about it). That simply because the men have the need and desire for it, that it must therefore be met, otherwise it is unjust.

This meets the definition of entitlement; the fact of having a right to something.

Now I believe this reaches into pathological entitlement. A sense of entitlement is a personality trait that is based on a person’s belief that they deserve privileges or recognition for things that they did not earn. People experiencing this sense tend to believe that the world owes them something in exchange for nothing.

It is pathological because the entitlement is extreme and results in affected functioning psychologically and socially. The person may struggle with constant thoughts that things are unfair and women are bad etc. Then their social functioning is impacted since they may treat women in day to day life and online with more hostility and distrust.

Pathological entitlement is actually a trait of narcissistic personality disorder but won't go into that here as it would make it too long.
