Something that is constantly referenced in posts and discourse in this sub is n count or "bodycount," which refers to the number of sexual partners an individual has had.

I want to know individuals' takes on what a high count actually is. Also, does this depend at all on what sex/gender a person is for a particular count to be considered high? First put this into the ideal sense as you understand it. I want to know what that term means to each person-- not whatever data they can find on what kinds of numbers different people sleep with. Is it fair if the ideal counts are disparate by sex/gender? Does it matter? Is it important to you and why?

I found myself pondering this question as I was reading over this sub and realized that I never considered myself to be someone with a high count-- but from how it sounds from some of the statements made in discussions here, not everyone might agree. I think this highlights how subjective these variables are that are relied upon so heavily to convey some of the ideas propagated here as generalizations. People constantly refer to what "most men" or "most women" want/think/do/feel/need when in reality any argument using that for its basis is already incredibly weak at the outset because none of these things are so homogenous.

Anyway, would be really curious what to each one of you what a "high" number is for M/W/all and however you'd like to expound on that.

edit

17 hours into this post there has been a lot of genuine engagement/discussion on this thread and I just wanted to thank everyone because the overwhelming majority of participation up to this point were perspectives and takes laid out in good faith and things have so far to this point not escalated into any shittiness that I've noticed so that's cool. I'm glad this didn't spiral. Not saying that like I'm above it either-- I've already been banned once, and I think I've been on the sub like 2 weeks lol. Anyway, thank you all for the mature and respectful discussion. I feel like I've learned a bit about some of the different POV's here and even if I don't agree with all of them, it doesn't mean I can't always understand where people are coming from-- and I think that's something that we can all apply. I'll keep responding-- have tried to respond and engage with all high-quality replies but that's turned out to be the majority of them, so I am fatiguing. If you didn't get a personal response, it doesn't necessarily mean I didn't think it was worth it-- you may have just made a point very similar to something I'd already responded to, and I did take the time to read all the takes that have been posted so far. Thanks, carry on.
