Homo sapiens almost went extinct. Every single person’s ancestry can be traced back to a group of about 40-50 people somewhere in Africa.

Our DNA is 99.9% similar (0.1% variation).

That’s closer than Chimpamzees which have like a 0.6% variation, and we are still 98.8% similar to them!

So in theory it’s easier to explain Human behavior than Chimpanzee. To an outside observer, you would see vast similarity in Human behavior across the world, and yes, across different cultures and societies.

Indeed, men and women are a monolith in terms of how we react to stimulai and our most basic desires and instincts. We’re so similar, that medical procedures can be written and used on practically any human. We all have the same reflexes as well, and react the same way to medications and even mental health procedures.

Everyone wants to be different. Individualism clouds people’s perception of the fact that we are basically just copies of each other, with small mutated differences in personality and appearance. Environment shapes you as well. Tribalism exacerbates almost imperceivable distinctions (a trait we evolved for homogeneity). It’s laughable, a 1mm difference in eyebrow height completely changes how you are perceived.

The fact is, society, culture, and environment is really just like using a different font to write the same paper. You can’t tell me that Human behavior can’t be predicted and manipulated like we do to other animals.

The difficulty lies in our ability to assess our own behavior. Every time we get more intelligent, so do our interactions. It all becomes so arbitrary and convoluted and you need more and more data to draw conclusions.

But that’s what we do here. Look for patterns and try to explain why we act a certain way or are attracted to specific traits. My personal goal is to shape my life into something I am proud to share with another person. I think most people are the same way. I use this subreddit to look for answers pertaining to the opposite genders behavior so I am better suited and prepared for the good and the bad.

To do that, we have to move past two things: Individualism and Tribalism (Racism, Classism). We are different but mostly the same. Personality/Cognitive/Behavioral, Societel/Cultural, and environmental differences are mostly insignificant IF you are able to find out HOW those affect a person, and are able to explain that scientifically.

EDIT: You guys need to chill out. You’re just proving my points about Individualism. We’re all practically the same biologically. I’m not saying AWALT, I’m not saying AMALT, I’m saying we all exhibit VERY similar behaviors (again proven in this thread) and that tribalism is the main cause of this. Men and women both have faults, it is the result of evolution. I welcome my views to be challenged still.
