I wouldn’t date someone asexual, because I do like and want to have sex with my partner. Dating someone who doesn’t feel the same way wouldn’t make much sense.

For most people that aren't asexual it's kind of just a binary dealbreaker. Like, a man being gay doesn't "devalue" him as a partner prospect to me; I simply don't date men in the first place.

I’m not sure I could be with someone who is “repulsed” by sex. That’s a pretty aggressive feeling, and I think many people, myself included, would feel they are repulsed by me. Sex is part of a normal, healthy relationship to me. They would be more suited to other asexuals.

No, because while sex is far from the most important thing to me in a relationship, it is still important to me. And even if they were okay with non-monogamy, I want to have sex with my romantic partner, so still no. Now, if something happened where my existing partner could no longer have sex, I wouldn’t leave. But that’s different from going into a sexless relationship from the start.

The fact that I say sometimes I wish I was asexual. It's because, I will quote, sex addiction is an incredibly deteriorating illness that, in many cases, stems from traumatic incidents that happened during the years of development.

And in a parallel universe where I am asexual women want to jump on my dick. What matters is that in this universe I am not asexual. Even developed sex addiction after what can be considered under CSA umbrella.

I would be willing to economically provide for an asexual person out of sense of social obligation, but that is an ulterior motive so I doubt said person would be willing to tolerate that kind of thing.

Repulsed by sex is def a line I won’t cross. Through speaking for myself, I am demi so someone with asexual leanings isn’t a deal breaker, it just depends on far in they lean on it (since asexuality in itself is a spectrum)

I would say the majority of asexual people are not repulsed by sex per se, so framing it like that makes it seem like a worse option than it actually is. Asexual people simply do not feel sexually aroused by other people and they do not feel spontaneous desire. Plenty of asexuals still have a libido though and the majority of asexuals still have sex to please their partner.

There are benefits to dating an asexual person: - You don't have to worry as much as changes to your body, such as getting older or gaining weight due to pregnancy/illness since your partner likely won't find you attractive either way - You know for a fact that your partner is not with you for your looks - Your partner is extremely unlikely to cheat on you - You don't have to worry about doing the right things/saying the right things/jumping through hoops to maintain your partners sexual interest in you - You probably won't have to deal with the dreaded "I love you but I'm not in love with you" conversation

No, sex is important to me in relationships. And if there's no sex, then that's just being friends, imo. I wouldn't mind being friends with an asexual guy, but I wouldn't commit to someone who isn't sexually attracted to me, and I wouldn't be able to be or remain attracted to them. I would not be with an asexual person. I deeply value having an emotional connection and effort in areas outside of sex, but I am still a sexual being. Being with someone who doesn’t offer sex or who would make it a lower priority would be painful for me. It’s a very important need in a relationship for me.

Yes, I potentially would, but I am also polyamorous so it’s not necessary for me to give up partnered sex in this case. It just wouldn’t be part of this particular relationship.

Also in to remind people that asexual people have a variety of feelings about sex, and aren’t all sex-repulsed. Some of them would be fine having sex, they just wouldn’t be sexually driven.

As long as they're okay being non-monogamous. I don't have or need that much sex with other people, since my own company and toys can suffice me just fine most of the time, but the need for others does arise from time to time. I am 100% fine getting all my romantic needs met by one person, and getting my sexual needs met by myself and occasionally a FWB (and I'd be open and honest about it, make sure the partner gets to know the FWB, etc)
