Yeah whenever guys ask “what do women bring to the table besides pussy?” it’s just a “gotcha” because when you say different things women can offer, it’s always “I don’t care about that.” I once asked it back, “so what do you WANT women to bring to the table?” Got an answer about reproduction (so, pussy and womb apparently) and “femininity,” which was never explained. In other words, all sexist men want from women is use of our bodies and household labor. But they also want to put us down for “only being good for” those things.

For the topic of your OP, I think “loves” is the wrong verb, but that’s getting into semantics.

As for your elaboration, most men think with our dicks when it comes to relationships. If it weren’t for that primal instinct, we’d be content with the company of men and probably be playing video games or some other useless endeavor.

To your credit, finding an interesting woman isn’t difficult. Usually the ones who aren’t attractive have had the opportunity to do interesting things with their lives as opposed to having to spend half of their time deflecting unwanted male attention.

What most of us freely acknowledge is that there is a looks standard below which settling is a lost cause. For the fit guys, it might be women who are overweight. But once a woman passes the looks threshold, at least for me, that’s when her personality, interests, etc become vitally important. She could be the most interesting, cultured, educated, and wealthy woman in the world. But if I find her unattractive, I’m dead in the water.

I think it’s disingenuous to reduce what many men on here to “I only care about looks and sex.” Again, I think most of us “care about looks and sex as a starting point.” There’s nothing wrong with that in the context of online dating. Almost all (if not all) of the apps are swipe based. So it’s based on visceral attraction to each other’s pics and the off chance that someone’s profile has something meaningful that speaks to you. But if you’re a man, on average, you’ll have a match rate that is less than 5%, for example. So it’s an inefficient use of time for us to read every woman’s profile and write unique messages to them since the vast majority of those efforts will go unnoticed. Surely some men do this. Hell, I do half of the time- but I make sure that I also swipe enough to ensure a reasonable match rate. When I do meet a woman and start hooking up, then I start to assess all of her other personality traits. In fairness, I’m making judgment calls on whether someone is wife material from the first contact. But I won’t seriously think about her that way until we’ve been seeing each other for a while and after we’ve had sex a few times. Maybe this is the wrong way to do things. But my experience has lead me to this approach, and I like to believe that I’m fairly logical/efficient in how I approach things in life. So I wouldn’t be surprised if many other men stumble upon a variation of the way j date.

I know plenty of "interesting" (completely subjective btw) people. I have an abundance of friends who stimulate me intellectually or have interesting hobbies, and that's without including people on the internet. This need is fully taken care of.

You got this wrong. First, looks and pussy is essentially the same thing. Second, when guys say that, it’s to prod y’all into answering. By answering you not only tell us your attractive traits, if you’re honest, but also wether you even know what other traits we find valuable. For example, if you know you are annoying, or have been told you are, and you say “I’m chill, I wanna relax w you after work” or whatever, that shows that you know what we are looking for, even if you don’t have it because you can work toward it.

But “I’m career oriented” sure if you work in a field I find interesting I’d love to talk about it but it’s definitely not a must have, just be self sustaining at a bare minimum. It’s not important to me if you have other traits I like. We don’t care. Not in a bad way, but if you are constantly working, that definitely could cause a problem if I am also constantly working.

That question is a thing because half the time you guys don’t know what to say (how do you not know your own attractive traits, usually cause you’re focused on your looks. Usually) and the other half you guys say shit that YOU think is cool. WE say shit that we think YOU will like, and even work toward developing those traits for YOU. Most guys do want other qualities in women. Most guys do care about character and personality. HOWEVER, it's nearly impossible to see those traits at the time when the guy is expected to put in effort.

In the early stages guys are expected to chase, initiate, woo, plan, and pay. Yet with modern dating, especially online or approaching strangers, you rarely know anything about her yet. You just know what she looks like. A staged Tinder profile pic. A curated IG feed. Her best makeup and dress across the bar. The superficial brand she wants you to see. What does she bring to the table? Probably something, but you have no earthly idea yet. All you've seen is the superficial. Yet you still have to chase, woo and earn her attention just to get replies and dates to get to know each other better and find out if she has other qualities you like. Dating is supposed to be the opportunity to get to know each other and see how you fit, but many men have to chase just to get to those dates.

At that stage, the guy has to bring a lot to the table to earn dates and attention, but she doesn't bring anything yet. Guys can't afford to put that level of effort into courting a wide pool of women, so they have to pick only a few to pursue and pay for. But at that stage, he really only sees what they look like. He has little info to make that decision. He's expected to pick her over other women knowing only superficial qualities like looks. Are you then surprised these guys are superficial or feel she's brought nothing else to the table??

That's why I refuse to date that way. I either meet through mutual friends or take things very slowly online (50-50, don't chase, cheap simple dates), taking time to get to know each other before selecting and investing. I have no desire to chase and woo her without knowing what she brings to the table or knowing she's someone I want, and I can't know that without spending time together and getting to know each other.

Women love to feel like you're so special the guy "just knows" right away and treats you like you know you're worth... but most of those guys are responding only to looks. They haven't seen enough of you yet to really know you. Many women expect the guy to always chase, lead and pay from the start. Those guys had to decide to invest after only seeing the superficial. Of course that leads to love-bombing or superficial guys who only valued her looks. The dating strategy selected for it.
