I find terminally online women who criticize the “epidemic” to often be hypocritical in that they often don’t have straight male friends on the presumption they think all men are trying to have sex with them.

People who think platonic friend groups should be gender segregated are part of the problem. If your friend group is exclusively women and queer men then I don’t really think you can speak on this issue without recognizing your part in causing it

The only individuals that are tirelessly promoting this topic are old cat ladies from NYT etc. to make themselves and you feel better about your own failures of the lives. It's the revenge porn for old hags and femcels.

Nobody in RP is whining about muh Male Loneliness Epidemic. Dudes are just silently checking out and focusing on themselves. At most, I've seen some RP spaces making fun of these articles.

Truth of the matter is that there is a trend of growing alcoholism, SSRI use among women, as well as women closing the suicide rate gap with men slowly but steadily. So, maybe women should stop having us live rent free in your heads and focus on fixing your own damn issues?

So the way I see it, the issue is that as a man I CANNOT seek support from friends and family. It's not socially permitted. If I feel alone, tired, defeated, scared, etc, my only option is to endure it. I think that contributes to the feeling of loneliness despite being around other people, because functionally speaking, you are still "standing alone".

That's of course assuming that you have those connections. I've been trying to find a local social group I could interact with regularly for years, but as a man of certain type, I'm constantly shunned in social situations.

Both sexes are reporting increased loneliness at similar levels, and there are many factors, and they are findings are it is class, rather gender with the issue of loneliness. The atomization of life, a focus on independence, and the loss of community spaces and groups; you cannot live in a digital world like many are.

I don't think there is a male loneliness epidemic. All data we have shows women are equally lonely. I think most Incels and other frustrated men just hop on the "loneliness is a societal issue" bandwagon, hoping that their sexlessness will be addressed by society. But besides that, there is real romantic loneliness and it happens to men, women and also people IN romantic relationships. As (romantic) loneliness is different from being alone or single. Getting a girlfriend doesn't end romantic loneliness necessarily.

But I think you should take romantic loneliness seriously and see that it cannot be solved by friendships or other men. To conclude though, that women should do something is also wrong. If anything, men need to learn to be able to help themselves overcome their loneliness. Asking for women to lower their standards is not helpful.

Maybe add this comment to your views about the red pill and be a little more nuanced. You are driving a war and a divide and add bad info to the discussion

Men suffer more than women when external social structures are not working well. In a society where enough men are forming families that last, other structures that help men get into communities also form around that. Or at least did before the Internet.

It isn't about sex. Or about therapy. Or about emotional labor. It is about men having purpose and a valued, respected places in a working and thriving community. In such circumstances, men don't need to cry on each others' shoulders to not be lonely.

Most normal guys don’t overly lean into emotions. We prefer to emotionally compartmentalise the impact any traumatic event can have, because it eases one’s ability to accept it. Which is the second step to effectively processing events. It is not that men not opening up is a good or bad thing, it is the fact that the individual is ultimately responsible for dealing with emotions. Most men understand this, so default to solving their own issues themselves.

Meh, I would say don't take these opinions of this imaginary redpiller seriously. Anyone who has one excuse after another just isn't a serious person. You don't even have to start social groups, there are a million social groups already established and looking for new members. Even groups that are 90% male can help you get laid, I joined a BJJ gym and some of the guys have invited me to hang out with their mixed friends or we have gone to bars together. Even w/o that, it gets me out of my head, gets me around some good people, makes me less socially anxious. People who have a lot of friends, male or female, tend to be able to get laid. Join mixed groups as well, just do what interests you.

I will say I think one of the reasons people don't take this line seriously is because it comes off like you are claiming fulfillment is possible without the opposite sex, and that male group dynamics should be like female group dynamics. That will never happen, and fulfillment is difficult without getting both laid and getting emotional needs met by the opposite sex. We have millions of year of evolution telling us that we need to be fucking.

The purpose of having male friends is partly because of those friendships themselves, and partly because they will help you become more masculine and ultimately help you get laid. Assuming the group isn't too nerdy.

No, men just want to be heard about the issues. The red pill is actually an optimistic mindset and puts it all on the man to accept the world for what it is and meet the worlds expectations. It does this by acknowledging how the world works. This means not being offended that all the women want chad and becoming chad yourself. Because no one cares about your issues and no one is going to save you. If you do not become chad you will just be labeled a sexless incel, sexual retard. And its your fault for being a prejorative "sexless retard" (excuse the harshness - but this is literally how people are treating undesireable males these days, they won't acknowledge their shallowness and then gaslight the incels into thinking its their fault LOL).

You assume they are raising these issues because they want women to fix it. It's not fair to make such an assumption of their intentions and then dismiss their views for it. Very fallacious. In fact the very action of speaking up about these issues raises awareness, and that's one sexless incel turned actually loveable chad saved.

Men here who are struggling with women have just been lied to and the people who can help them have been silenced, because our society values protecting our feelings about ourselves over the feelings over literally 65% of men who are sexless and undesired.

It DOES always seem to me that they are blaming women for this (male) epidemic, and are looking to us to fix it, or even very resentful and hostile towards women for it. And I can’t understand, because they dismiss every single thing we tell them to do about it. It’s weird because they will readily admit that women have more social networking abilities, but they won’t take our advice. I’ve thrown my hands completely up on this issue. They whine, but don’t accept help. I can’t do anything with that.

There are in fact a lot of support networks for men but it requires a common interest. Usually when men bond, it is over some shared interest. When you think about it, college fraternities, military units, learned societies, political organizations and trade unions were all ways for men to bond together in person.

Unfortunately, the Internet has replaced many of these things, and also women have entered many of these spaces.

It's just become too easy to stay at home and play video games/watch porn. Why go outside, when there is infinite dopamine on the screen?
