I've always wondered about the men who court a woman, ask her to be exclusive, decide to buy her a ring, propose, and then COMPLAIN they're losing their freedom. If you want to be a bachelor, why did you do everything in your power to not be single? The choices were all yours. Not once did I see anyone put a gun to your head to propose to this woman who you're claiming is trying to keep you off the market. Be free! Isn't that what you want?

I remember on one of the earlier seasons of 90 day Fiancé, one of the couples had a huge blow up because the woman went to a male strip show to get back at her fiancé who had strippers at his bachelor party.

He was outraged because he said it was DiSrEsPeCtFuL for her to go when she knew how upset he would feel about it. She had a lot of guilt about it through the season, which is fucking ridiculous because HE HAD STRIPPERS AT HIS BACHELOR PARTY. Lol the hypocrisy was crazy!

I think he tried to brush aside the hypocrisy by saying “well my friends hired the strippers and I couldn’t just tell them to leave once they were already there.” Lmao men are never accountable for anything and women are always the villains when we match their energy.

(I forget what the couple’s names were but the guy was from Israel I think, and the woman had Tourette syndrome.)

Even if I give the biggest possible benefit of the doubt, it still breaks down like this: if you have a fiancée, you're not "free." If you have a girlfriend, you're not "free."

And if you value your idea of "freedom" that much, then you shouldn't have a girlfriend, or a fiancée, or a wife.

I gave my ex-fiance his ring back and told him to exchange it for singles to give the strippers he saw after going out on night after we were engaged (while I was stuck working a 12 hr day). I don't regret that one bit. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

First of all, if you're engaged to someone, you aren't "free". Sure, you're not legally bound to them yet, but being engaged implies exclusively.

Second, if you're already feeling nostalgia for your "freedom" before you're even married, then maybe don't get married? Nobody is forcing you. If you're still interested in paying a stranger money to grind on your 🍤, then go do that and stop wasting this woman's time, and your own.

My bf is, like me, opposed to sex work due to how objectifying and degrading it is. He has told me stories of what the boy’s club can get like.

In one of my favorite ones, there was a bachelor party and one member of the party asked the others about strippers. BF and one other guy said no, they would not participate. Strippers come anyway and BF and other guy try to leave to hotel bar. On the way out, Scrote who ordered the stripper says to bf, “You can’t tell [Wife’s Name].” BF is divorced but was married at the time. He asks why, and Scrote said, “Because then she’ll tell my wife and I’ll get in trouble.” So the “man code” was supposed to mean that BF, who had vocalized his discomfort with the strippers in the first place, was supposed to now be caught in a lie with his own partner.

In another story, a group of guys ordered strippers for a bachelor party of a gay man. They got one man and one woman. Think about that. It is so much about the degradation of women at all costs that even for a gay man as bachelor, they wanted to have a woman’s body on display.

My partner had a big presentation for work this morning so I made him dinner last night, that means he had more free time to work on it. I don’t have a car so he drove us to the beach on the weekend, giving me more freedom to do something fun.

I hate this crap. I would never ever marry a man who wanted to have a raunchy bachelor party - and i wouldn't stand up in the wedding of any friend whose husband wanted it, either. So far, all of my friends' husbands are the type to invite their friends over for games and beer and snacks instead of misogyny - it's not that difficult!

I don’t care who it is, how much I “love him,” one mention of wanting to go to a strip club I’m out.

That being said, ladies, speaking as someone who has been to strip clubs to try to understand why men go, who has friends who worked in strip clubs, seriously, if a man says he’s been to a strip club, and enjoyed it, it’s a very serious red flag.

Don’t mention being against it in the beginning. Okay the soft cool girl card to figure out where he stands on the subject.

That job is toxic as hell, it will eat away at your soul. Any man who supports that kind of industry, is clearly okay with “mild” forms of prostitution. Women get assaulted, sometimes raped, oftentimes the job is loaded with trauma.

It’s a disgusting world we live in. The women who end up doing jobs like that, are usually in desperate situations looking to make fast cash, whether they’re single mom’s struggling students, former foster youth, or runaways.

There are no positive stories. Don’t let anyone fool you.

There’s nothing “empowering” about it. Anyone who says it is, is living a state of denial.

A disgusting trend no matter the culture nor country; if your man has to see naked ladies before he ties the knot with you, he ain't your man, never has been, never will. I can't tell which is worse; seeing an escort to "get it out of the system" or having a striptease party. Either way, any man who's ever used either belongs in the trash. It's all relative. If he obviously doesn't like going to the strip club and is only doing it because his friends think it's funny, I'd suggest he finds more intellectual friends. If he is someone who visits strip clubs when single, I wouldn't go a mile near him.
