I don’t think there’s any mania or even desperation here. Somehow it’s even worse than that. If it was mania he’s trying to get a high from a connection with or control over someone. If it’s desperation there’s probably also depression involved and in his head it’s just “sex, sex, sex”. Unfortunately I think it’s just efficiency. It’s like a job to him. He’s not looking at any of them. There are no emotions involved. At least, not until he seems to accidentally hit the wrong button and angrily goes back. He lost valuable seconds then goddammit!! I have to admit this is how I used bumble (tho I looked a lot less desperate as I swiped). Every guy on there I swiped matched me (because they were doing what this guy did) then I’d follow up with a copy paste greeting but put their name in it, and then reply only to guys that replied with a message that showed they read my profile. I would keep it to batches of 20 convos and maybe get one potential that I fancied and had the right chat. Then he would act like a little princess after a few exchanges and expect me to keep chasing him and take the lead on setting up a date - which obvs I’m not gonna - OR they would set up date but panic when I wanted a vetting phone call and screw that up in a myriad of pathetic ways so would get unmatched. It was exhausting and lessened my respect for all OLD men. I’m off bumble now!
