Does Piers Morgan seriously care about men's issues? If so, what has he done about it? I used to watch his CNN show from time to time and I don't ever remember him talking about the fact that men make up a disproportionate number of workplace fatalities, a disproportionate number of prison inmates, a disproportionate number of the homeless, a disproportionate number of homicide deaths, a disproportionate number of suicide deaths, etc. This sounds more to me like he dislikes the people organizing today's marches than that he has anything productive to say about men's rights.

I'm as tired of the feminists and SJWs as much as the next person here, but I think it's ridiculous to mock this march. People always complain that the millennials and leftists don't do anything but whine on the internet, but here they are protesting in mass for their beliefs.

Our new president is against abortion, his cabinet is made up of homophobes, and he has sexually assaulted someone and got away with it because of his money and power. The biggest problem is that these aren't even the worst things about him, just the things that are most relevant to the feminist and SJW talking points.

We don't live in a patriarchy and there is no rape culture (at least not as they see it), but these are the things that they should be protesting.

Oh Piers Morgan. I can only hope that nobody took this post seriously, it seems as if it's a joke. I mean, I hate rabid feminists as much as the next guy, but that's not what the women's march was about. When a huge group of people get together for a good cause, especially for peace, human rights, and solidarity, the last thing I would do is shit on it. Yes, this is a joke, but is it really a joke that deserves to be made - especially from a person in the public eye? From my standpoint, I can see no good reason for PM to do this other than he is bitter, or (more likely) thinks it would be funny to people who support him since he is very vocal about his disdain for feminists. Equating the vast number of people who took part in the women's march to a group of rabid feminists is such an easy shot to take, and it's vastly untrue, and undermines the women's march and its cause as a whole.

Anyways, he does bring up a good point here. I would love to see a men's march or really just any public display advocating for men's rights issues. Is this a good way to suggest such a thing? Probably not.

All this talk of "emasculation" implies that there is something noble or desirable about acting in accordance with arbitrary, centuries-old ideas of what a "man" should be.

I mean, you do realize it is completely arbitrary right? These actions and traits that the "manly man" should avoid or embody have nothing to do with our biology. It's culture. It's what the mainstream decides is "manly" or not.

The question is, why should we accept that at face value? It's certainly not objective. Why should I agree with a prescribed definition of masculinity? Just because it's old? In my opinion, that's antithetical to free thought. By fixating so much as a society on what is or is not within prescribed gender roles, by caring what other men who male posture will think of what we do, is a colossal waste of time.
