I am going to start chronicle-ing my Saturday night outs as an Indian guy in Sweden.

Tonight was my 5th outing in as many weeks and I went out solo. The toughest thing going out solo in a country where your second language is also their second language is that you can’t interject into groups that easily because then everyone will have to switch to English and in the loud atmosphere of a bar/nightclub; that’s a hassle.

As the night started I remarked something about the pyrotechnics the bartender was doing to a girl standing next to me, she completely ignored me and looked away.

Then went to the bar I frequent to, the bartender and the bouncer know me by now so the bartender said that he’ll be my friend because I was out alone. Great guy, I would have tipped him if the vodka+orange juice didn’t cost fucking $14.

Then spent some time sitting by myself, there was just no opportunity to talk to anyone so I left, and went to eat a falafel roll. Went back again and drank a red bull.

Went to a different bar. Upscale one. Was standing in the queue at the bar when this cute girl around my age came and asked me if I wanted to order first because I was in the line, I said you go ahead, then ultimately there was enough space for both of us to stand at the bar and she seemed interested so I started talking. I wasn’t wrong in my assessment, she seemed nice and interested, asked me questions and stuff but I was just in slightly sad mood for being by myself so I had let that conversation die and she went away.

Then I sat by myself at a table, chatted a bit with a guy on next table, then a guy, in 40s (who had earlier evicted me from his seat because they had occupied it and were away for a moment) saw me invited me over to join his friends. They were rich and successful people and gladly accepted me into the group. The guy was drunk and remarked several times that I looked very handsome in my suede jacket, he also added “no-homo”. He also gave me his number and offered me a job, for he is a higher up in an IT company (but I am an aerospace engineering grad student). I talked to his friend too, then his cousin came and he remarked about my dressing too, he said that with that kind of dressing and Indian accent, I stand out in a good way, if I was dressed poorly and with my accent I would have stood out badly. Backhanded compliments but I will take it.

Then they ordered a champagne and shared with me, first time drinking champagne and that too for free. Cheers.

On my way back I got talking to a Sri Lankan guy in his 40s and we talked all the way back (we live in the same neighbourhood), he shared his number and said we should grab drinks sometime.

Takeaways: Swedes are shy about taking the initiative but if you are extroverted and confident then they would love it. Women obviously are harder to chat up because they have their guard up but I have had pretty chill conversations with women too.

You didn’t tip - thereby alienating the bartender

Tipping is not a part of Swedish culture. I mean I have gone out 4 times with a native Swede dude and he never tipped, neither have I seen anyone tipping at the bar. Because to tip you'll have to carry cash and nobody here carries cash. But I will definitely tip him next time.

You didn’t pursue the woman who was open to your advances

Yeah, I feel bad about it. She was really pretty and seemed quite interested, gave me plenty of chances but I was too much in my head last night.

Changed my perspective that all woman has to do is put herself out there, umm... no actually, if you put yourself out there in front of a doofus (in that moment) then nothing would happen unless you are extraordinarily forward about it.

I had earlier (a few weeks ago) blown a similar opportunity in the same spot because I was too drunk, knocked over a glass, and in clearly inebriated state asked her if she was drunk too, she was not and probably felt unsafe and played "I've a bf" card. I wished her a good night and and left her alone after that.

Not really, I chatted plenty with them, I just didn't discuss that here because who it was random friendly chit chat. I didn't feel excluded at all even though I had just met them.

I don't like to think of all women as a monolith and if I had to pick a monolith, FDS would not be near the top. Why do I hate FDS?

Just like Incel communities try to dehumanize women by calling them femoids, FDS uses Words like scrotes to refer to low value men (LVM) which is almost all men. This is a common trait of cults where they have a secret language for members to use, technical jargon is used to contain the shared meanings.

FDS is also similar to Red Pill since they both claim the opposite gender has no sense of loyalty. They warn their members to not try and "fix" their partners. These partners will develop self confidence and end up trading up for a better partner.

Just like Red Pill, FDS tells women not to Trust men, be vulnerable and share secrets. They will use it against you. Don't change to be compatible with him because he will leave you. Focus on yourself and have high standards, don't hesitate to block and move on. By having such high standards they are changing the marketplace and pushing men to do better. FDS is very unforgiving of mistakes, maybe as a pushback to women spending years forgiving and hoping change will happen until they are drained.

FDS also thinks the emphasis on communication is misguided, these guys are adults and know exactly what they are doing on some level. Wasting mental effort thinking up examples, teaching them, giving tguidance isn't going to change them. They expect HVM to do the right thing with minimal or no direction, else they don't really care.

Just like Red Pill promotes plates, Friends with benefits (FWB), live in relationships, etc trying to get benefits of a relationship without serious commitment, FDS goes the other direction telling women to withhold Sex unless they get serious commitment.

FDS like MGTOW proudly states that being alone is great and there is no issue in such a life, it is better than partnering with most men out there.

So the idea all women are like FDS qweens scare me because I happen to like girls.
