It's often cited that "only 12%" of women in America are virgins in the 20 - 24 age bracket, implying 12% is a small figure. It's like saying only 12% of women in America are African American (which is statistically true), so it's hard to find them - very misleading. If your goal is to locate African American women, you can easily find them - you can go to majority African American areas: African American churches, African American music festivals, taking an African American history class in college (I did this - class was almost exclusively African American even though African Americans were 6% of students overall).

It's the same thing with virgin women. These weren't the type who would go to bars or on tinder - you'd be more likely to find them in a library, volunteering for animal shelters, or in some religious setting. If you're just looking to pick someone out of the general population, that 12% figure can look bleak, but there are plenty of places where that figure exceeds 50% (such as a conservative church) or, conversely, where it is nearly 0 (bars & tinder). Just by avoiding these hookup areas, especially inner cities, that figure easily goes well above 12%.
