Hook up culture has the same pitfall as purity culture, it put a created a crushing social pressure on a group of different people to take one specific approach to dating. We need a culture that acknowledges mass shaming of people for either having sex or not having sex is damaging.
I feel bad for a lot of the RPW that I see on social media. There is nothing wrong with wanting to stay a virgin until marriage or be in a traditional relationship, but they are going about it in a sociopathic way. They seem less interested in actually enjoying their relationships(or soon to be ones) versus proving to everyone how happy they are with their choices. I'd believe them more if they were showing off their herb spirals or the hats they knitted for their husbands, but most of their videos are rants about feminists.
As for newer TRP, these guys also seem super unhappy even when they get what they want. Running into these guys is actually what brought me to PPD. I've heard the talking points from several guys about women being incapable of actually loving a guy, how you have to treat them like they are an replaceable, and they'll only accept one sided open relationships.

The problem isn't that things have changed, but rather that nothing has changed. A decade ago when I was an awkward teenager, foreveralones and incels were still really common and most of the termi ology was still around, and according to most stats thats when the current gender dynamic really began to set in. But when I went to college most of academia was still obsessed with feminism from the 1920's through the 1980's and didn't even aknowledge the 90's had happened, let alone the 2000's or 2010's. Nothing actually going on at the time was even registering for them and basically anything after educational parity and legal equal rights may as well not have happened. The masses of male students currently in their classes who had no institutional support and serious issues not being addressed in a general sense were treated as a theoretical issue with no immediacy or relevance.

In the years since nothing has changed. Women right on this sub will still use anecdotes from their grandparents time to justify their opinions of men and ignore the five decades or so since then to make the point with some regularity. Pundits and talking heads wonder why politics have gotten such a pronounced gender divide when the political right is the onlybreal faction thats even addressing mens general social problems (regardless of the quality of their solutions).

Much like how Occupy Wall St. comes off as naive and quaint in a world with more radical labor and economic movements, the 2000's version of whatever this was has been superceded by something more aggressive simply because nothing else has worked in the intervening time.

TRP started mild. Frankly I think many of the views people call "red pill" are pretty black pilled. It was originally a recognition that this common "be nice" advice is completely false, perpetuated by women with no skin in the game. That being nice has never been the hold up to a relationship and TRP is a recognition of that. Not that you shouldn't be nice, but that it's not what actually gets you a relationship with someone. It's usually necessary to keep them, but it doesn't get them past the cover to open the book and get invested in the first place. If it truly was, toxic douches wouldn't get nearly the attention and relationships as they do.

TRP does boil down to "Love yourself". Be confident, be attractive, be considerate, be your own person that isn't unattractive to others. Respect yourself, respect others, and have boundaries. Don't simp for women, tell them off if they do something shitty, treat them like any human doing a shitty thing. They may get pissed with you for seemingly daring to go against them, but good ones will get over it. It's emotions and feelings, but women change too and make mistakes. But like anyone else, they aren't going to change if they are never corrected on it or given a reason to. Again humans beings, thinking just like you but different. And even if they don't change, you don't need that in your life and you should value yourself more than that.

I think that marriages of convenience may have a comeback, as in the past.

Romance and love is only possible in a relatively stable, high trust, tight society. We don't have anymore, and in fact we did not have that for most of history, so we are going back to convenience arrangements.

Men at least don't have to dwell on loneliness and depression if they can distract themselves with porn. Not ideal, but it is what it is, so maybe no revolution or crime rising. Everyone will cope their own way the best they can. Women will have to accept men they want will never stay, many men will have to accept they may never be chosen, etc.

I think we'll see two distinct categories of women: Women who are OK with explicitly transactional relationships (sugar babies), and women who aren't. The women who aren't are going to be quite lonely and jaded, as will the sugar babies when they age out of the sugar baby market.

It's not really going to do much as far as putting a halt to the changes that are happening in the dating market. Women are going to keep moving up the social ladder, making more money and become pickier as far as their hypergamy. I think men and women will be fucked for different reasons down the line. Men will experience chronic loneliness due to being unwanted. And women will be depressed for having a legion of options but not desiring any that are available for the long haul.

As far as women, this red pill awareness will break them into two teams:

-The first team will be your typical hard left feminists. They will deny and even condemn any sort of red pill content with a vengeance. These types will become single moms by choice. And they will still have sexual relationships with men, but they will participate in soft harems or even form poly relationships with attractive but weak men and call the shots. Some will go gay. And of course, some will remain alone and angry for life.

-The second group will be the neo "trad con" women that will align with red pill groups. They will enter relationships and form families with high value men. Men will see these types as a breath of fresh air and a reason to hope. But the problem is, most men will still not stack up to what these women will want. An average intelligence, normal looking 32-year-old single plumber that makes 50k a year will not be appealing to a "red-pill woman". Content creators like "Just Pearly Things" and others are now appearing pretty quickly. But they are basically capitalizing on men's desperation because it is a hot market for content as of late. I'm not saying that they don't believe what they are saying. They probably do. But make no mistake, they would never even consider dating the vast majority of their listeners.

So at the end of the day, red pill truths will do little to calm this storm. Women will always have sexual leverage over men, and being the physically weaker sex, men will always protect them by keeping the lights on and engines running. And men will become more disillusioned and drop out in droves. So we are in for a dark time for humanity. The only way this could change is if a cataclysmic ever happened that destroyed society forcing gender roles to go back to where they were.

c) Not TRP per se, but RPW talking points are becoming more popular on TikTok. For example, I see women openly talking about being after money, wanting a rich provider man, being against casual sex and against the birth control pill as something unhealthy for women etc. Even feminists are starting to admit that hook-up culture is a net-negative for women.

Again TikTok is based on your personal curated content, the algorithm sees what you interact with or what excites you the most and gives you more of it. In addition to this TikTok employees can influence the algo a bit.

I for example see mostly exotic pet TikToks, goth eyemakeup tutorials, talks from physics professors, and more of that ilk, and don't see any pill content.

d) Mainstream conservatives are low-key parroting Red Pill talking points.

I’m in my 30s but know a lot of guys in and right out of college who are really bitter it seems or dating is a sore subject. Theory is that online dating being the norm has had an impact. Everyone here always mentions relationships but casual sex and dating has long been a big part of younger peoples formative years as adults. And there seems to be an impression, perceived or real, that only a small percentage of guys are able to “get to play” so to speak. There’s always been men who are more successful than others in that arena, but the perception at least is that it’s gotten even more imbalanced. Online echo chambers don’t help to add to it either

In the short run we will likely see the blackpill become more popular too as the redpill to blackpill pipeline is a real thing - more men who take the redpill will see that this stuff doesn’t work, and instead of self evaluating the blackpill will weasel its way in. I’m not sure, but I suspect there might be more polarization and a reactionary movement towards conservatism from our youth because liberal values are beginning to leave them in the cold.

That said, I don’t think this is TRP becoming more mainstream as much as it is conservatism becoming more mainstream.

One could also reasonably argue that I’ve been at my tax bracket long enough and am getting old enough that the natural tendency is for folks like me to switch political allegiances.

Speaking for myself, I feel like liberal values are much more radical than they were say, 10yrs ago. I’m on board with that flavor of liberal. Tax high earners like me, equal rights for gays, equal access for career advancement regardless of sex, pro-choice, etc. Nowadays, while I can sympathize with the plight of trans people, I don’t know how I feel about the gender fluid movement. And I certainly cringe when people start blanket labeling some patriarchy as the root of all evil. I might be a man, but I’m a minority, and I assure you that I feel I have been quite disadvantaged too. Anyway, since I no longer feel welcome under the liberal “umbrella,” I’ve stumbled on more of this conservative stuff, and it resonates with me. And in that stumbling, I see bits and pieces of TRP. Mainly the pieces of TRP that make sense to me. (Develop your masculinity/lift, make something of yourself, talk to women/try to achieve your goals, women look for their best option, etc) The parts of TRP that I disagree with (spin plates, never commit, the world is on fire) don’t seem to be part of the conservative narrative that speaks to me.

So if I am at all representative of a millennial (debatable particularly given my income), I think that more of us are discovering that contemporary democratic/liberal views just don’t resonate with us anymore. That said, the conservative republicans in the US also feel similarly radical. So politically, I’m checking out. If I even bother to vote during the next cycle, it’ll probably be third party.

As for the dynamics of dating, I don’t think it changes much. I’ve long maintained the same dealbreakers since before learning about the existence of TRP. Attractive, childbearing age, no single mothers. I doubt that’ll change. If TRP values become more mainstream, all it’ll mean is that I can be more unapologetically vocal about my dating dealbreakers. But I’m already comfortable enough that I’ll share it when asked. And I’m eloquent enough that I’ve yet to meet someone who even tried to challenge me.

The same thing can happen here. By 2040 your average American could think, "Yeah, women can't be men, and when society expects them to they go insane from anxiety and identity confusion. And men should be men, because when they don't, they selfishly harm their society not help it." And you'll have feminists and very lonely old women shaking their fists and talking about misogyny and how evil it all is, and young people will have no idea why they're so crazy.
