I'd probably give myself a 6. My life situation/career are slightly above average, I own a home, I'm confident and outgoing with good social skills, friends and hobbies.. but then looks. I'm short. I'm also thin and have a decent face.

I'd probably be a 7 if I was taller.

I don't really know about a number per se. I consider my looks fairly low, but a lot of that is due to lifelong insecurity thanks to a noticeable physical disability and everything that comes with that. My partner of about 14 years seems to think my looks are pretty high though. Education level I would say is probably low compared to many people. I went for only a Bachelor's.

My social skills I would say are high but that is because I worked on those heavily. My parents homeschooled myself and my siblings K-12 and we lived in a rural area to top that off. Not zero socialization, but far less than is usual for children in their formative years. When I moved away for uni I knew I would need heavy work on that and did so by attending all social events that time permitted.

My height is average for the world but considered "short" by a lot of people here who are insecure about their height. I consider my income to be mid at best--could be better but the missus and I are rather minimalist, so it's at an okay level I guess.

If someone asked me this in person I would rate myself not very highly, but again this is due to strong childhood and early adult insecurity, and I don't think I can look at it objectively. I try to look at it from my partner's POV--though of course she has some bias in my favor, too.

The only thing I'm pretty sure about is that my life probably looks small and boring to a lot of people on the outside looking in, and that is fair enough.

SMV - probably a 2 or 3 since Im only 5'8, slightly below average face, introverted, not overweight but not muscular and only average dick. So needless to say I'm not what women look for in a casual sex partner.

RMV - probably a 4 or 5 since I make 6 figures, have no drug or alcohol problems, no debt, have above average savings and investment. I'd maybe be viewed as medeocre in LA or NYC since apparently everyone there makes 500k but in my state I'm doing OK. I don’t think anyone can know what their number is. You don’t tell other people you are attractive, other people would tell you. And anytime someone declares themselves as hot/desirable/banging loads of people, they automatically look not hot/not desirable.

It’s the difference between confidence and arrogance. Confidence draws people to you. Arrogance makes you look fake and people will be repelled by it.

Pros: - 5’11 - above median income in high COL region of the US (~$90K) - only debt is mortgage - BMI of 21 with quasi V shaped torso from running and lifting - large friend group and gets invited out to events on monthly basis - graduate degree - no baby mamas/ no ex-wife

Cons: - half Asian male in a white-worshipping culture - weak jawline from mouth breathing/ sleep apnea - depression requires Wellbutrin - little LTR experience - unwilling to date women heavier than myself (170 atm) - 40 and single means I would make for an old dad 2 decades from now (sperm motility is 💪🏻 but that’s not something you share on Hinge) - massive approach anxiety stemming from an incident where I was literally escorted out of a bar for speaking to a woman who felt I was too ugly to do so (yes, this happens - it’s not a boogeyman black pillers dreamt up)

The problem with these sorts of questions is illusory superiority (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Illusory\_superiority). Humans aren't objective about themselves and over-rate themselves on all sorts of characteristics. You'd basically have to have a "photofeeler" system (that is, many independent people rating others on various characteristics) to get to anything approaching an accurate rating. And that would require folks to not be anonymous. (Most folks here, unlike myself, are allergic to non-anonymity.) Self-ratings... pretty worthless.

I don't know what these values are for me; aside from thought experiment, they're irrelevant. I only know the objective facts coupled with my actual history.

Photofeeler says my face is mid-8 (for whatever that's worth). Fitness - I'd be in the top 10% of 30-year olds (although I'm 56). Height - 5'7. Education - masters from Oxford (no, I wasn't a Rhodes Scholar), among others. Income - I haven't worked for many years now, but my retirement income would be in the top 1% in the West. Social skills - that's subjective; MBTI says I'm an introvert - which is probably correct - but I'm not the least bit shy or timid. I'm fairly social.

But, taken together, I don't know what all of that means. I have no interest in changing anything about my sex/dating/relationship life. It's going considerably better than I would've thought had you asked me 25+ years ago.

I have long hair and consistent facial hair, i’m 5’11 and i have a thick muscular build. Big eyes and olive skin. I still rent but work a solid job, and while i’m more introverted if i’m in the mood I can get around socially. Though it’s also really easy for me to get socially discouraged and forfeit myself. rely a lot on humor and a calm vibe. I also have a ton of hobbies and have a few friends to keep me occupied. I also have a pretty sick fashion sense, i keep it simple with some vintage elements.

I’m a 4-5 when im not feeling it and im a mess mentally/emotionally, and a 7-7.5 when i am in the right headspace

I could probably improve my social skill and cut a little bit as far as my weight goes, i’m bit chubbier than i’d like to be

Life situation: 8-9/10. I own a few investment properties, multiple luxury cars, take multiple trips a year, basically whatever I think of I can do.

Career: 9/10. Im an oral and maxillofacial surgeon. You have cancer in your jaw? Im your guy. Your face got wrecked in a crash? I’m your guy before your appointment with a plastic surgeon. Wisdom teeth? Pop em out all day

This is so subjective because everybody wants something different. To some people I might be a -100000, but to my partner, I am a 100.

I'd say physically, I'm overall 7/10. I'm slightly above average facially, with pretty good hair and style, and have a way above average body, but I am a bit short.

Financially, not great atm, and my social skills are honestly pretty abysmal. But I don't think that factors in much cuz I wanna date another introvert, and wouldn't wanna date someone who cares about money that much anyway. In other words, I don't expect my partner to be rich (or even have a job at all), nor do I expect her to have good social skills.

26M. I live with my parents in a house we co-own. I don't really have close friends. I've never had a second date, & have never kissed or even held hands with a woman in a romantic way. I have NVLD, which impairs my social skills in roughly the same way that high-functioning autism does (I may actually be autistic as well, though I've yet to be formally diagnosed for that like I've been with NVLD). I'm an introvert. I don't truly know how physically attractive I am to women; I guess I'd rate myself a 5, or maybe a 6 on a good day. I'm a devout born-again Christian &, compared to the society around me, I'm strongly right-wing on social issues.

I'm a 4 based on my life situation, social skills, looks, income, education, & height.

If you take my religious & political views into account, I'm a 1 to the vast majority of eligible women in my age range who I'm likely to meet, but an 8 to women who have the same niche views which I do.

My RMV is actually lower than my SMV. I don’t make tons of money and also live with family, nor do I even have a degree or any aspirations for the real high-paying careers.

That being said, I have great social skills and can make people like me anywhere I go, and my flirting game is kinda dependent on the day to be real.

Looks-wise I know for a fact I’m pretty good-looking. Not quite Chadly or anything but hot enough that getting interest from girls, at least initially, isn’t super hard.

(Details: am 5’8 black guy with braids and a muscular build, which I often enjoy flaunting)

Looks - likely 7 or 8 out of 10 - I am muscular with a good well kept beard and nice eyebrows but below average height (5 foot 8), I am also bald, so my appeal is niche.

Personality - 9 out 10 I am very confident, with no neuroticism or negative emotions, and I can be very empathetic, and I am very extroverted and talkative when I need to be. I can stand out from the crowd.

Income - 10 - I make 400K/year

Education - 10 - I have a PhD in physics

I am above-average in looks (though no head-turning beauty by any metric) and currently undergoing gym to improve my skinny-fat physique. I have read sex manuals like She Comes First and cross-examined the reported experiences and preferences of many women to understand what they find attractive and sexually enticing. I like slowburn, creating a charged atmosphere and making the other person writhe in pleasure. My greatest disabilities are that I am an anxious virgin without any actual experience, but I am very willing to learn, improve, pay attention and adapt.

Never had any romantic relationships and I suffer from anxious-avoidant attachment style due to being verbally and emotionally abused in my childhood by my narcissistic father. I have lots of unresolved insecurity, self-loathing, envy, resentment and spite. I am still immature in the context of spending the entire day on my phone and letting my mother cook my food and do my laundry (I do housework like vacuuming and grocery shopping) and I am almost completely without any work ethic, as I had to retake a year at my faculty because I didn't study and pass almost any exams. It heavily depends, but somewhere between a 7 and 10?

My life situation is pretty ideal by most metrics, I'm debt free, thrifty, have close friends, good friends, community connections, and an above average family circumstance. I have hobbies and passions I pursue regularly that are largely productive (cooking, gardening, jiu jitsu, hiking, video games) and I'm pretty much as close as you get to being a chef without being one and I'm currently working on sub skills like canning and food preservation. Gardening is newer, but I've been very successful at it and found a lot of joy in working with the earth. I love a good hike and have seen a lot of the cool stuff in my region, and I'm an old hat gamer who can never quite kick the habit because they go and release games like Baldur's Gate to just ruin my clean streak.

My social skills are pretty high level with at worst some leftover eccentricities from being home-schooled, but I more than make up for it in sweetness, aloof charm, and being really good at navigating frustrating systems for myself and others.

My looks are basically only weighed down by being flat-chested and disabled, but to a certain demographic the loli thing would make me a 10 and otherwise even with disability I seem to rank around a 7 or 8 simply from being very fit, youthful appearance from good genetics, and doing martial arts which makes most dudes I encounter ignore the disability thing because I am. I am short as fuck, and people can be really demeaning and cruel about it, but I've never sensed it held me back from getting a man. I'm lucky to have an exceedingly pretty face and fawn-like appearance. Men don't know if they wanna fuck me first or buy me ice cream and tell me all their woes.

I'm working on a master's so I can be a teacher, but I'm not a snooty intellectual because I grew up blue collar/working class.

My income is low average, but I've also never prioritized it. I'm hard-working when required, but do personally enjoy a work smarter not harder lifestyle of career where possible. I was pretty lost on this front for awhile. thus now returning to school to be a teacher. Soon it'll be high, I dunno, money isn't really something I see as more than a tool.

If I wanted to improve my score (which I don't, I'm good where I'm at), I'd probably have to become less well educated, not game, dress a little more sexy/fashionable? A lot of shit I don't wanna do basically.

The Russians have a say: Everything makes sense in context.

So SMV is context-dependent. In Cambodia my SMV is still solid 9. In my home country is likely 6, down from 7 (no longer that young, but wealthy, still average height for my area but no longer that imposing, better social skills than 20 years ago - but no longer that careful to superficial sensibilities... you know... trade-offs that come with age).

In the US it'd probably be 5. US women (in my experience) are more superficial on height than the global average (I dated in a lot of places). US women are also militant materialists in a way that simply makes me sick and I wouldn't hesitate to make that known (and would for sure lower my SMV "score").

RMV is also context-dependent. In countries/areas where women look for financial security, my RMV is 10. Mind you, that's not a blessing at all. The likelihood of being scammed is pretty damn high.

In countries where that's not so important, my RMV is likely 8-ish largely because I prefer relationships so I'm willing to negotiate and work things out - which is always a boost for RMV. Still, in too conservative areas or too liberal areas my RMV drops 7 or even lower because I still insist on adult standards and I'm not willing to tolerate what I regard as petty games which are very common in too leftist and too religious/conservative cultures.

At least a 7 dare I say 8, I'm 6'4 and muscular, I earn a high 6 figure salary in a major city, drive a nice car, educated, well travelled, good family etc etc. when I was single I averaged ~40 matches a day on tinder.

In my youth a slept with a significant amount of women, dating id say I experienced a lot of what other guys do but just at a higher frequency. Also got disheartened because of how many women I witnessed who were willing to cheat on their SO with me.

Is this contextual? Like for where someone lives and also for the sorts of people they want to have sex with or date?

For context I'm a woman in my early thirties.

I doubt my attributes would be desirable to someone in a particularly different network, but I'd say my SMV is pretty high because I'm pretty, in good shape, good chat and dress well.

RMV unclear because I'm not wanting to enter a monogamous LTR, for a lot of people it would be pretty low because I have some mental and physical health problems and can't work atm, but I'm educated and have drive and the like. I do have people I'm interested in be interested in me in a romantic (not just sexual) way but I struggle to form a lasting connection in that way for a variety of reasons.

So yes my RMV is definitely lower than my SMV, which is just going to be the case regardless of gender if you're above average looks. SMV I'd say is 8.5 and RMV I'd say is 3, with a caveat that i think it will increase as some things continue to change for me.

So I guess around an 8.5. I’m in a career that draws very attractive and charismatic people and I’ve never had any trouble standing out. I didn’t always recognize my advantages while dating, but I’ve never had to pursue a woman and I’ve never been broken up with or pushed away.

It’s been 5 years since I was last single, and back then I was an alcoholic with an untreated mental illness – the kind that makes you a blackhearted horny demon for ~6+ weeks out of the year. If you want to calculate your SMV (not RMV although it would be fairly similar), just add up your ratings in face, status, height, physique and social skills. I'm going to say the weighing of importance is 30% face, 25% status, 25% height, 15% physique, 5% social skills, the exact values are obviously debatable but I think that's reasonable. I also think if you score less than a 5/10 in any one of those categories besides status (this is because most people have next to non-existent status when you compare to what's possible ie. celebrities, 5/10 status is already quite high) then your dating life will take a noticeable hit, even if you have high ratings in other areas, so I think it's fair to add a penalty of 1-2 points out of 10.

So for me, my face has been rated on average a 7/10 by a decent number of people anonymously, so using that gives me 21 out of possible 30 in face.

I have very little status currently, in high school it was higher due to being on the football team but that was some years ago now and doesn't have any bearing on my treatment today. I have no social media presence outside of instagram, with less than 1000 instagram followers. I have a decent social circle but I'm still in college and work retail, so I'd give myself a 3/10 in that category which means 7.5 out of a possible 25.

I am 6'3 and I'd say that's more or less ideal when it comes to height in terms of broad appeal, so I'd give myself a 9/10 in that category, or 22.5 out of possible 25.

I have a pretty solid physique, weigh 240lbs with decent proportions and big shoulders, can rep out 2/3/4/5, although I'm about 18-20% bodyfat with barely visible abs so I'd give myself a 7/10 in that category, which is 10.5 out of possible 15.

My social skills are fairly decent for the most part but I do rely on alcohol more than I should when it comes to flirting with women, so I would give myself a 5/10 in that category which is 2.5 out of possible 5.

Added up, 21+7.5+22.5+10.5+2.5= 64, or 6.4/10 which I think is accurate based on the treatment I get from women. Obviously doing a calculation like that should serve more as a guideline than a definitive answer to what your SMV is, end of the day your treatment from women on average is what defines your rating.

SMV probably a 9 or 10, might be too tall for some. RMV I'd say an 8 or a 9. I have a couple degrees, a good chunk of relationship experience, and great character. But I'm also a hair on the spectrum and q bit fucked up from my formative years. I don't have a family and I don't make a lot of money now, but I have a couple hundred thousand saved. Honestly in the 90s I think I would be a 10, but women these days are so superficial and focused on the wrong things and I'm not interested in selling myself or convincing anyone. I'm also just not interested in 99% of women these days.

Someone else mentioned what you can get is more important than what you think you are, and that's the facts.

It doesn't matter if you think you're a 2, your life experience might be full of success and prove otherwise. It doesn't matter if you think you're an 8, you might get nothing and prove otherwise.

As contentious a topic as it is, body count is probably the only real tangible way to determine "SMV". I'd say there is "actual body count", the number of people a person has been with, and "rejected body count", the number of opportunities at sex you personally turn down. I include the second one because knowing how many people want to sleep with you is a valid indicator, even if you personally don't engage with it.

I mean, it should be self-explanatory that if people want to have sex with you, and have or approach you, you place highly on this hypothetical "sexual market-place."

In the end, it doesn't matter what you want to justify when rating yourself, life will tell you the answer.
