The numbers work the other way. 37% of men are dating 66% of the women. It's not a 1 for 1 ratio so that means some of the men are dating multiple women.

It seems like way more than half from my experience. Monkey branching is very real. I can't count the number of times I've gone on dates / had sex with women who had boyfriends or husbands, many of which who weren't fully honest about being in a relationship or they downplayed the significance of their relationship. On one occasion I didn't realize a woman had a husband until we were both butt naked in her bedroom and I saw a bunch of pictures of them together.

More women than men date somewhat older partners, so at least some part of this difference is the result of younger women dating older men. Then, sure, some women have a FWB or a situationship. While they say they aren't single, guys they're seeing say they are. Seeing multiple people at once or having a FWB while going on dates seem to be not that uncommon for dating culture in the US, but I don't think we have enough data to say that half the women are doing it.

There are enough cheaters hiding their first partners, spouses or whole families among both genders. There are enough married men dating as "single guys", guys living with their partners and DMing others in instagram or using Tinder etc.

Back before I was married a good chunk of women I went on dates with were either kindof-dating a guy they werent fully into or one foot out of a relationship and looking for someone to branch to.

You can work that stuff out within a date or two and cut contact, its not that hard.

This study uses age cutoffs. Women are more likely to date older men than the opposite. Women are also more likely to date other women.

The numbers also vary a lot by other demographic factors.

That's not how the math works. For one thing, you'd have to exclude from your sample all the men and women who aren't getting, or seeking, dates in the first place. Most women you'd go out with aren't the ones in relationships—they are, however, therefore more likely to be going on non-relationship dates with multiple men.

Question: if a chick likes a guy but he refuses to be exclusive, how is she dating “behind his back” and why is SHE the one in the wrong? The guy is also dating. She wants to be exclusive, he doesn’t. So she’s only dating other guys because he’s dating other girls. Yet this is still a prime example of your argument.

Also do you count a chick going on date with a guy she met on Tinder on Saturday and technically not telling him “I had a bad time and don’t want to see you again” then goes on a different date the following weekend with a new guy. But then guy one checks in the next day?

Most attractive sociable people date around. This isn’t a gendered thing. I have guy friends that do this and girl friends that do this. Just guys are thirstier so women have more choices. Yall acting like yall wouldn’t be doing the same thing if given the opportunity. And I know some of you wouldn’t. Because I don’t do that, I have never “saw” two guys at once in any capacity in my whole life and I’m 34. Now I’ll admit there wasn’t a lot of time between some of my partners. For example, my current boyfriend I went on my first date with him about 2 months after I ended my 4.5 year relationship. We didn’t get physical until two months after that and didn’t become official until 5 months after.

My question is how long does a chick have to have not have “seen” a man in any romantic or sexually in order for you to qualify them as single? Because it seems you count a woman who hooks up with FWB once a month as “not single.” If I’m understanding correctly.

One of the biggest pills i was ever told when i was young, was that as you age, most of the women you meet that you have a chance with, will never be completely single. which, in my case, 70% of the opportunities I had either had boyfriends i knew or was/is friends with.
