If you are talking about a severe mental illness, then you are obviously not talking about the general population. You are talking about a small number of people who are essentially taken care of by their families for their entire lives. No one says those people don't exist. I guarantee that isn't your average black piller.

However. You bring up the actual average black piller, a person who is from a shorter ethnicity living in the US. The average height of non-hispanic whites who weren't starved as children during the Depression in the USA is just under 6'. If you were brought here by your 5'4" dad and 4'11" mom and get stuck with 5'5" as your dice roll, either find a girl like yourself, which you can do in the border states, or move to somewhere you are average.

It may not be easy, but it's better than doing nothing for a few decades and then suck starting a shotgun.

Asperger's isn't even a severe mental illness lol 30 years ago it was going almost wholly undiagnosed, it was just called weird people... Anyway I was just using that as an example, mental/social acuity runs on a spectrum.

Based on what I've seen like incel megathreads, most are average looking white guys. But anyway.

Yes asperger's is a scale, that was my point, it doesn't necessarily require "severe mental illness" to be held back in such a regard. The awkward guy who talks to himself and watches anime might not be asperger's but deals with a similar uphill battle in dating.

Yea it's "possible" just like it's "possible" for inner city kids raised in poor/fractured households to be scientists and engineers when they grow up if they just work reeeeel hard at it. That wasn't the point of what I was saying.

but then you are reducing the black pill to, "Everyone isn't the same," which TRP already discusses in Naturals vs AFC.

I mentioned up top that blackpill is just re-wrapping most TRP ideas into a defeatist mindset, there isn't a ton of difference at their core. However it depends on how much Lookism is associated which seems to vary a good bit between blackpillers

I just finished reading Elliot Rodger's entire 137 page manifesto, and he was clearly mentally ill with a strong dose of psychopathy. No compassion for other people, whom he did not regard as real like himself, but tools to be used or enemies to be killed. He was planning on murdering his little brother and his stepmom also, and his dad if need be, so this was not just about Stacy. It was like he was the only actual person and everyone else was a character in his dream. Even his best friend James (also a virgin) is described in insulting ways for not agreeing to the murder fantasies Elliot shares. No sympathy for anyone but himself, Elliot concludes that he is a god and must punish humanity, but his actual plan involved a few days of mayhem and murder over a swath of Southern California while the police don't pay attention until the very end? How was that supposed to work? Delusional front to back.

He lived a life of rich privilege end ease, never had a job, barely studied in school, and the only bad thing that ever happened to Elliot was in 2013 when he picked a fight at a party house and got beat up badly after he tried pushing people off a cliff. So no, I cannot empathize with this psycho.

In a lot of countries men got these rights sooner than women. I'm not sure about working tremendously harder tbh. They did die in wars more than women, but women were left to take care of kids, crops, livestock and everything else. And it was worsened by women having no rights during most of our history.

For example, during the WWII in Russia most men who could fight and do any labor were conscripted. Women were the ones providing the food, ammo and other goods for the army, without them our soldiers would just starve to death. And when a good share of them died in battles, lots of survivors were disabled and had severe PTSD that no one knew how to treat back then, women had to take care of their families. I'm not sure, but considering the stats about our losses, I'd guess that women became the majority of workforce.

You can consider fighting and dying as harder labor than keeping working for many years, but I'm not really sure about it. I think they both are extremely hard.

My wife and I have had times when we went almost a month without sex, and have had times when we had sex 36 days in a row. This is not included the extended time immediately before and after she gave birth 4 times. We abstain for 80 days after birth and follow doctors recommendations for healthy sex during pregnancy.

Currently we average 3 or 4 times per week. Variety is the spice of life, but what we jokingly call 'boring' sex is great. That's a specific position that is our go-to for maximum enjoyment and minimum work from both of us. Other times we might play sex-tac-toe where we take tuns writing down positions or sex acts on a 3 by 3 grid then one of us chooses a row, the other chooses a column, and we do whatever is in that box. Other days we might dress up and roleplay, especially if the kids are at the grandparents house. Or we might just lay in bed scrolling Reddit if one of us isn't really feeling it and we decide to take a break. In the end, the important part is clear communication between mature consenting adults.

You really got me thinking of what your one line of just leave* really entails.

you have to completely reject whom you love or whom loves you, remove them from your life despite the enumerable things you value from them. You may potentially make an enemy out of them.
Then you have to cut out tons of people in your social circle. Their family, their friends, potentially mutual friends. Suddenly your circle collapsed in size.
you have to divide all your finances and material assets.
Assuming you live together, you now need new living arrangements and then have to continue to see the person you just made an enemy of while you move all your shit.
If you have kids, you now have to essentially tell them that their two favorite people in the world do not like each other, and that they will now have to constantly choose mommy or daddy in joint custody, or they will have to deal with the absence of a parent.

All of that just to get to the part where you are alone and single. Which may be a relief to some, or extremely lonely and logistically difficult to others.

I'm not saying nobody should break up because it's hard. I'm just explaining that your one line of advice is a systematic uprooting of someone's life, and people resist that.

I think that’s probably true.

There’s a natural imbalance. One sex has testosterone which makes them naturally lust after sex and pursue sex more than the other sex.

It takes dedicated mental stimulation and a man activating women’s more latent arousal triggers for a woman to meet a man where he’s at. And even then it’s probably not as consistent and in many cases not as primal.

I’d say it’s true that only about 20% of men have the natural wits or charms or physical attractiveness to arouse women with any level of consistency.

Other men need to rely more on other factors to keep a woman around consistently.

Also this isn’t me saying the 80% won’t have moments of pure arousal from her. It just won’t be as consistent.

Also the 80/20 is fluid. Some men move from 80 to the 20 etc. And vice versa, some men from the 20 to the 80.

Well, it's dangerous to mix up individual level advice and what would work on a macro level.

The idea that in a world where men and women are equals, with very loose gender roles, men would basically just have to do more than women, and provide more, just to get a high level of heterosexual pairings is probably too intuitively unfair to be sustainable. Like women bring the sex and men have to bring more work than the women just doesn't sit right.

Imbedded in all of this are interesting questions about how much of women's attraction is based on relative factors--comparing men to men, and how much is based on the absolute qualities of men. Can men as a whole just improve to increase pairing rates, or are some TRPers right that women would just recalibrate their standards to the top % of men if every man somehow improved.

My main concern is getting and maintaining pretty high levels of heterosexual pairings as the cornerstone of civilization.

They’re not doing any “more” than they were prior. Prior they were “doing more” by being the breadwinner. I can’t help that being useful outside of that upsets men.

Additionally, women (even the breadwinners) do more domestically. And if she has kids she default did more by incubating the baby and risking her health once or multiple times. And she likely default does more of the childrearing.

As far as women’s standards rising if men get more attractive. Not really. If men focused less on other men and more on being physically attractive to her, sexy to her (suave/charisma), and someone she respects and admires… then he will be fine. She should do the exact same.

I think we sometimes miscommunicate because you have more of a default bias to look at things on an individual level, and me on a macro level.

On PPD I'm generally trying to figure out how we can get the genders to be happier together as a whole. Individual stuff is usually less interesting because the answers are usually simpler--it's just a matter of whether people do them or not.

I think I misunderstood your comments about DIY stuff to being that men had to do a lot of extra stuff to in return for sex, because sex was kinda this currency that had value to men but not that much to most women (because most men aren't that arousing to most women).

But you were more saying that since it is harder to get a woman based on just providing, men should start upping their overall companionship game. Sex is gonna happen if you are paired up, even if it is more arousing to him than her. A woman is going to sleep with a guy she loves, so long as the sex isn't repulsive, even if he desires it more.

Decent point, but still not sure how it works on a macro level since everyone has limited time. There's always opportunity cost. If men are focusing more in one area, they focus less in another. And women still seem to want men who make more than they do. Trying to pair the genders voluntarily and happily at high rates is a tough problem given women's natural hypergamy and sexual selectivity.

Don’t get me wrong. I enjoy macro analysis. But from being here for… a long time, the biggest issue with men this side of the internet is theorizing and not praxis.

There’s a reason the men I encounter are doing reasonably well with women and the men here are not. And it’s the perspective, cognition, mental hangups, neurodivergence, etc.

I’ve suggested macro solutions.

My parents run youth programs for boys. Strongly encourage structure, socialization. sociability, exploration, and discipline in boys when they’re in adolescence. That’s the key. The boys/men on this side of Reddit need to go a little heavier on the “socialization. sociability, exploration.”

Join the clubs, orgs, sports teams, etc. Force your sons to mingle. As a family, go to mingling events so they can observe and learn by osmosis. and so forth.

As far as female “hypergamy.” What she really wants is for you to showcase more masculine (security) traits than her in the same way men want her to showcase more feminine (comfort) traits than him. It only gets interpreted as “hypergamy” because men don’t value the womb or domestic competence and because men want to fuck more than us.

I getcha. A lot of PPD guys who struggle with dating are trying to find that magic theory that will get them laid with decent girls but no effort or discipline. Sadly, no free lunch.

On a macro level, what level of sexlessness do you think is a kind of equilibrium point if society got it right?

Personally, I feel that given female sexual selectivity and hypergamy, if society is treating women fairly and not strongly coercing them into marrying or suffering, then we should expect a higher level of male sexlessness than we saw during peak enforced monogamy.

But I'd like to hope it could cap out at like 15%, maybe 20%. But part of me fears the equilibrium point is much higher. After all, twice as many of our ancestors were women. Nature invented men to supercharge evolution via sexual selection, and that meant men were designed to be more variable with a high proportion of the left side of the distribution being denied reproduction.

Of course, it's the 21st Century and biology is not destiny.

Joseph raised a singular child who wasn’t his and some animals. Interesting pivot to then lambast parents who only have one child and two pups. Who knew becoming a parent of one was a denial of motherhood and fatherhood.

I don't think blame helps the situation, anyways. This isn't an individual thing. It is totally understandable why people don't want kids the way they used to. Same as why they don't want to turn off their screens. Or stop watching porn. Or read books much anymore, etc. It's a techno-cultural thing. We are addicted to higher stimulation activities. Things that used to make us feel good and enrich our lives now feel hopelessly boring and frustrating. That includes having lots of children.

If one read's his words carefully, I believe that the Pope is making the same point. A civilization that isn't having kids is an indictment on the civilization more than the individuals. It means something is very wrong at the core of the culture.

I’m curious what morality you’re about to project on one vs the other.

This isn’t Oregon Trail. You don’t need to have 22 kids with the hopes some survive childhood and others can work the farm.

In an environment that doesn’t necessitate loads of kids or lead to loads of kids (lack of knowledge about menstrual cycle/ inability to deny husband), ppl have the amount of kids they feel comfortable with. Some have none. Some have one. Some have four.

You want to fix the culture. Create parameters that incentivize it. Plenty cultures do this and it usually means a lot of restrictions as well.

But as it stands, your tone seems self righteous for the sake of it. Or perhaps you’re assuming everyone is driven by “legacy.” That’s actually mostly men. And that’s a function of testosterone and ego. Not honor and “good culture.”

I think even the Pope would admit that with modern medical technology, we cannot and should not have a birthrate like the old days. Too many kids survive. We'd have to start inventing ways to kill more people, or the population would explode to unmanageable levels.

The point I agree on is more general: if a cultural isn't replacing itself, something is horribly wrong. It would be one thing if we were purposely lowering the aggregate population for a while, with plans to then increase the birthrate to a stable replacement level once we hit some target population level. But we are not doing that. We are just heading down the path to extinction with no concern about it.

Now, as for the details of how to have a replacement birthrate, I'm probably more agnostic than the Pope. He feels (based on this and other readings) that we should all be having a couple of kids. Spread the kids around because motherhood and fatherhood is a critical stage in the healthy life of the vast majority of people. He might be right, but I'm not sure. Perhaps it would be better to have the people who love kids having 5 or 6, and those who do not having none. Perhaps some subsidization of the former from the latter. The Pope is probably right, but I'm not fully sold on that yet.

As for righteousness, any righteousness is just directed at society in general. Not individuals. As you say, given that people are weak and often don't do what is best for them, incentives are often needed to guide behavior. If we are letting birthrates go below replacement and haven't found incentive structures to fix that, this is on society as a collective.

And I'm not really getting into legacy per se, though that might be an interesting topic. I'm just saying that on a collective level, if the birthrate is below replacement, it's strongly indicative of a distressing collective nihilistic hedonism. And in this, I am no better than anyone else. Perhaps worse. But it's important to at least admit the truth, even if one is part of the problem.

Well, I do believe there is a moral element in all of this. But we aren't disagreeing in many ways, either. People are not essentially different than they were 100s of years ago. Given the same circumstances, people back then would have reacted the same way.

The point is that there is a moral challenge, perhaps individually or collectively or both, to somehow transcend our current circumstances and get to a stable, replacement birthrate. As you say, perhaps we need to collectively craft incentives to do it--hopefully not ones so extreme as you layout. Or maybe there is some other way.

I mean to me the need for a stable, reproducing population rate is just plain obvious. It's the low bar.

Now, as to whether most people SHOULD be parents for deeper reasons than just the the population rate, i.e. it's better to have everyone with 2-3 kids over say outsourcing the child making to those who naturally love it, that is a more complex question. In my gut, I feel the Pope is probably right there about the importance of 95%+ of people being parents, and of more than one kid so that you make families where a child has a sibling. But that is more complex and I'll leave that aside for now.

But not getting to a replacement rate is just wrong.

Actually reading the original study you will find out the reason why the woman are more happy is because they are obviously expected to match looks with the better looking guy which causes them to develop "EATING DISORDERS" to match that good-looking guys body and this eating disorder is what causes them to be unhappy.

While with unattractive guys since there is a looks disparity between him and their partner. They are expected to bring other things to the table to account for that. like paying and planning all dates , those dates being more frequent, random acts of romance so he doesnt lose her. Less reciprocation on her end.

So ugly guys don't get you hopes up ( the study might not even be talking about ugly guys as well , just guys less attractive then The women they are dating )

So this shows that if women chose a method better to diet that wouldn't make them feel weird and develop an eating disorder , then you can bet that they always will be picking the better looking guy.

Because humor is about taking risk and saying things that are counter to social accepted norms, possibly leading to rejection and ostracization.

This is absolutely true. Anthony Jeselnik basically took this idea and adopted it as his whole schtick, even offstage in everyday life. He talks in interviews about how he doesn't care whether people like him or his jokes, and that he has just as good a time onstage making people dislike him as when they're laughing along. He's certainly got people that heavily dislike him and what he says, but he's aware that his material is dark and he's aware of the risks that come with performing it. And it's worked for him phenomenally.

(Of course, it helps that he's tall and arguably facially handsome, and he's got good hair on his head and can grow a nice thick beard. But still.)

I had a friend group dissolve because my friend admitted that he found his gf ugly when they first met (my friend is actually really good looking but he’s 5’5) and ngl when I first saw his gf I thought the same. The women in the group told him that’s fucked up and they were trying to tell his gf but his gf is smart and blocked those crazy bitches and ignored them. I think they don’t understand mens low looks threshold and how a women whose fun to be around AND fuckable can easily look better to a man over time.

This brings me to how women cry “why can’t men just be friends?!”. I’d say a majority of men who meet women think nothing of them but develop feelings after realizing she’s enjoyable to hang around and fuckable. The problem with pump and dumps is she’s probably not enjoyable to be around or the usual, she’s not as attractive.

Remember when vaccination was the key to 'normal'?

Things are far more normal now than they were in 2020 or the first half of 2021, and that's because of vaccines. My country currently has case rates that are equal to this time last year but guess what? No restrictions required as those cases haven't been followed up by large increases in hospital admissions, the only thing that's changed is that now we have vaccines. Last year it was total lockdown.
