In the 21st century money is pretty much irrelevant when it comes to dating, because most women can afford their own shit. If you're in the top 1% then maybe you will feel a difference, but for most people your income level doesn't really matter.

This whole idea of "just get rich bro to get girls" is a very boomer concept.

I don’t think it’ll be terribly different from the way things are now.

Every person has to make a decision of whether dating/partnering up is worth the opportunity cost to them in time/energy/etc.

When women start out earning men significantly/en masse, they’ll be incentivized to be more selective than they are already.

Some women will continue to desire/demand the provider types. But since there are only so many men who are educated/earn beyond the bell curve anyway, it doesn’t really matter. Instead of wanting the top 20th percentile of male earners, perhaps the top 15th percentile becomes the desirable demographic.

Other women will desire looks, and will continue to swipe as they have been doing for years.

Still others won’t want to acknowledge the shortfall of men who can offer both, and insist on believing they can find/attract/secure both in a partner.

Some women will find a suitable guy, some won’t, some will give up and decide to remain single.

The thing is… women already do this today. Just for slightly different reasons.

I highly doubt that college educated, professional women will settle for less educated men who earn less than them on a large scale basis. Obviously some will, but that’ll be the exception. Hypergamy will intensify and more women will be fine with polyamory. Men will either then change and more will pursue a higher degree or there’ll be more disgruntled men who resign themselves to sex workers or sex robots.

Women want a man better than themselves, and as a woman gets more formal education, her dating pool narrows. She wants a man with credentials equal to or better than her own, because credentials in the form of a college degree or better are required for entry into the managerial class that runs society. Thus she will not consider men with less formal education than herself as suitable partners, so men with less formal education see their dating pool narrow as well.

Educating women with largely useless liberal arts degrees provides no benefit to society as the woman acquires no useful skills. At most she acquires the credentials to occupy a position from which she can plague society (HR, or something similar) and she receives Leftist and feminist indoctrination that that make her unsuitable as a life partner or even a responsible citizen. She will bear few, if any children, and will likely embark on the journey of life expecting at least one divorce, which she sees as her birthright. I should point out that while women may outpace men in formal education and credentials, they almost never outpace men in useful skills. She will learn to conjugate all sixty genders, but will not know how to change a tire or unclog the sink.

The education of women into the liberal arts promotes male sexlessness, social decay, and demographic and civilizational collapse.

I think it will effect all sorts of Western life, not merely dating. In the short term, it’s all golden for men who attend(ed) university. College educated women most often seek college educated men. Since most men want to have s*x with as many women ( or guys, your tastes really don’t matter ) as they can, that small amount of men probably won’t commit. A man is only as faithful as his options; those men will have plenty.

Politically, it’s a truly bad idea for 1000’s of military aged men to be habitually single.

Economic/ political: women hold the majority of college debt. Even though there’s a big push to forgive that debt, it probably won’t ever happen. College loans are the single largest ( by far ) asset on the government’s spreadsheet.

I think a plague of singleness is coming. Largely debt ridden women in their 40’s and beyond who never got that ring. WW1 didn’t kill off this many men in the West.

Oh, and hordes of involuntarily single men who may or may not focus their stored up emotions against the State/System. That’s how names change on a globe. China is already seeing those problems.

But hey, standards.

Back ground. I remember watching a documentary on a traditional African tribe. The woman did most of the work. Building, cooking basicly everything all day while the men layed around occasionally directing them going on hunting trips etc.

I think we are moving to a modern version of this. Tech has developed the work place to not need men and favor more female strengths. I'm about to start hiring and will mainly hire woman as woman are more consistent.

Also many of my Male friends earn less than their female partners. This has become extremely common in my country. The first social signs will be woman dating younger less accomplished men.

It will increase the rate of people being single and not marrying. However the danger will occur when everyone realizes that working so much hours and coming home to no one is a atrocious feeling. You feel alone and lost as you have done all these hours of work but who do you share this wealth and now material with? Friends will likely also have their own relationships and families by that point. Which will further isolate and put pressure on people.

This will put further pressure on demographics and communities. This spiked with already tense topics like migration, migrants and immigrants. With a already rocky economy and questioned political class. This is just a whirlwind of problems that will crash in together.

I think there are going to be a lot of smug overly educated women dying alone out there, way worse off financially than a lot of "blue collar" dudes that made smart choices.

I've seen the other side of this.

I came up "blue collar", because I saw the student loan thing as the scam it was. Now I'm coming up on age 40 beating out folks with their MS degrees for engineering roles due to all of my practical experience.

The degree bubble has popped, and outside of some advanced niche fields, companies care about experience more than the paper.

Most of my other "blue collar" friends are in the same boat. We're all coming up on middle age with 15+ years of 6 figure incomes and recession proof careers.

Some of us have made poor choices and have wrecked bodies and kids/wives they hate because of support payments.

Most of us have gone on to start businesses, used our practical experience to transition into engineering roles, found easy low impact jobs we like, or cashed out investing all of our OT money.

We're all physically fit and have lots of interesting hobbies and social networks by virtue of the practical experience we've accumulated over the years.

Carrying tool bags around doing light electrical work, painting cars, or reprogramming HVAC equipment is way better for the body than sitting at a desk for 40 years getting fat, diabetic, and socially insular.

I recently broke up with a senior GS-14 fed because "She couldn't commit to someone without a degree because she needed someone with long term prospects".

Lol. Ok. I own my own 3 bedroom house 90 minutes out of Manhattan and will probably retire before 50. She lived in a small 2 bedroom apartment with her cats and was never going to be able to afford a house because of her student loans.

A new phenomenon I'm starting to see, is that my cohort is now reaping the benefits of the silver fox phenomenon. For my friends in their 40's that want to finally settle down and start families, it's RIDICULOUSLY easy for them to pull down high value girls in their late 20's without the medical problems that 35+ year old ladies face when it comes to child birth.

Why would the high value ladies go for some dumbass 27 year old dope with student loans that just wants to go to the bar and play video games? She could have a muscular 42 year old with a few white hairs in the beard, that owns his own plumbing company and is over all of the stupid games. These dudes all turn out to be great dads from their years of training apprentices.

For the ones that want to stay single and fuck a lot? If you've stayed fit it's still mega easy to land girls in their 20s, or the new market of single moms your age that have kids that are just now out of the house. A single mom that hasn't had a good orgasm in 10 years will do some incredibly depraved things the first night at home she doesn't have to worry about junior waking up.

Tell me again how I should have taken on debt for an English degree though.

I think that mutual careers will distract love relationships unless you are talking about sex and dates with a co-worker. This only applies to women living in metro areas, only 16% of young women live in metro areas and it doesn't apply to all metros.

So with only a small % of women out earning men (maybe 10%) you end up with a small number of women who will struggle to find someone.

I don’t know about other women here, but I have to say almost none of the men I’ve dated have matched my education level, and I only have a bachelor’s degree. There just aren’t many educated men in my area, and even most of them going to school with me ended up dropping out. And plenty make better money than their more educated counterparts because a degree doesn’t mean what it used to, and trades pay well. Uneducated also doesn’t equate to “dumb.” There are many instances in which I wouldn’t even recommend going to college anymore.

But I digress. So I’m just not buying that women will choose to be single or polyamorous instead of dating less educated men. Especially the latter... men here seriously overestimate women’s desire to join polygamous relationships. If you look at every society and religion where men have multiple wives, they’re very patriarchal, women aren’t the ones choosing it. The much more likely answer is that women will just marry less educated men. They already are.

Imagine growing up with the offspring of the (relatively few in number) millennials/zoomers that actually did procreate. They won't have many aunts, uncles or cousins. Most of their educated peers will be the last of their family and carrying the crushing burden of supporting the elderly.

Their lower class peers will be from first generation immigrant families that essentially start taking a bigger stake in society, and will come from far more traditional cultures that are more postured to reject modern Western liberalism. Nigerians, Chinese, Mexicans, Arabs, etc.

Educated Gen Alpha kids will look at older millennials/zoomers and likely conclude that the philosophy of "rather be alone than settle" is much worse than settling. Because all they'll see from educated millennials and zoomers is misery, poverty, and loneliness in old age.

If anything, there will be a reset in cultural values back to the 1950s.

Unironically with women being less happy, women are willing to marry men who are matched when it comes to income some are even willing to marry/date men who make less(not as much as those who date/marry those who make more) which means that women will enter into these egalitarian relationships and due to the discrepancy in standards of cleanliness they will do more housework making them less happy and in turn having less sex with their boyfriends and husbands making them less happy as well. Also, more will just stay single and have casual sex or FWB's through OLD which will also lead to more unhappy men and the women who are career women will be content until around their 30s than either are happy with their career, flip and marry a high earner if they are high earners(think physicians assistant marrying the doctor), depressed/commit suicide (a good portion of them are depressed). Men are just going to be a continuation of what has been happening, with the majority still getting married and around half later getting divorced, probably more male suicide and maybe male violence, and a lot of men just checking out and working low effort jobs/not working, or doing well in their career and staying single.

I mean, cut teachers and nurses, two groups who pretty much already date blue collar, and the disparity between men and women with degrees drops significantly. Women are catching up on business degrees, still lag in tech, and have a lot more liberal arts (though there are a lot of men who couldn’t get into STEM or business school that have these degrees too, with no clue what to do with them). Honestly, if you’re a dude and aren’t getting a STEM of Business degree you should be heading to trade school….that’s probably where you’re going to end up.

I think it’ll actually be sort of the opposite. Something that gets overlooked is that although educated women earn more, they’re also likely to be in debt. Whether it actually plays out this way, a man has to see that debt as something he is now responsible for too. Most men see debt as a larger negative than they see education as a positive.

Most men don’t really care how much a woman makes or how educated she is, outside of the obvious extremes.

The idea that women want a provider is a myth. A myth backed by an animal, rather than human, science

Animals can't speak, can't hold an interesting conversation, can't be interesting, can't make you laugh, can't be helpful in a joined adventure. All they can do is:

provide - hunt
protect - hunt and build a shelter.

In comparison we, humans, live in a made up world: from money (just paper/ or just ones and zeros) to reddit (fake karma points that mean nothing in the larger world).

In this artificial world, even disabled people can live a full life alone. If they can't it's because we don't want them to, if they can't is because we like to harm them. For example, we can provide ramps, and elevators, not make fun of them, not abuse them...

I'm currently reading a novel where these young women from Israel are around 18 and around looking to get married. It's their family members that are urging them to get married they instead with they could go to university and to stuff. So it's not women's desire to be provided for it's the artificial setup that brainwashes them to desire providers.

I remember another novel written in around 1886 where the husband in London sells his wife.

So most of our codes of dating today come from that world, both the "men hold doors and chairs" to "men have to be the providers"

We could easily re-program our society in at least three ways

talaban/Gilead: get back to the "natural order of things"
A reverse: start believing women are the providers because whilst men have the muscles women have the brains (something that back in the day their small brains prevented them from going to school)
Finally realize we are different from animals and that individuals are attracted to shit loads of things, from money, turn of phrases, to feet.

The current struggles in dating are concentrated around the working class. Poorer folk are less likely to get married and if they do more likely to divorce; MC + are largely unaffected and so SES is a major player in the dating world.

My grandma (born in 1927) completed grade 13. My grandpa (born in 1920) had to drop out of school in grade 6 to work on the family farm.
