Many girls with a hot body still wouldn't think the fit guy is good enough to sleep with. Thats why its common for most men to low ball when it comes to sleeping with women. Add the fact that most aren't confident and fear a woman's reaction. Especially one who has a good body because more than likely she could be arrogant or stuck up and a lot of men don't want to deal with that, so "sleeping down" is a much safer option.

Yes. When you combine this with the fact that men in general have higher libido than women, you have even less reason to not use the easy opportunity if one is presented. However, it is very important to note that wanting a commitment and wanting to get a dick wet are almost two separate things for men and I've seen many women get confused by this. This is why attractive guy will often use you for your body if given the chance, but won't be interested in anything more serious.

Most men with sleep with anything, to the extent where a woman can't know how attractive she is just because a very attractive man will sleep with her. I don't know if some men truly are just slaves to their biology, but I have a feeling that a lot of men get their self-worth from the flat number of women they can sleep with.

If men could collectively develop a sense of self-worth and develop some sexual/romantic standards, a lot of issues in dating would fix themselves. But that's neither here nor there.

Lastly, very, very few people are sleeping with unattractive/ average men. A decent chunk of them have been alone, are alone, and will continue to be alone with no one in their lives in that sense.

It's worth noting that unattractive women are more happy to be alone than men, as women tend to (not always) have more supporting social circles, supporting groups, and so on. Where as the unattractive men do not. So, the unattractive women generally don't feel the need to settle with unattractive men.

Honestly this is only a phenomenon we see somewhat recently.

Many average women, whether that be intelligence, looks, job etc. will always try to strive for better than they are.

And because of this many average men are stuck with rejection from women of their same caliber. Thus leading men to "settle" for what they have.

I see the argument all the time that women shouldn't settle for anything less than they demand from a relationship in which I agree but why are men also demonized for wanting the same?

We aren't allowed to have preferences and stand by them where women can have the highest standards and no one questions it.

Options 1 and 2 are not mutually exclusive, 1 is not an impediment to 2. In fact for promiscuous men, the more the better. And because of pre-selection, then sleeping with more women will only attract even more women.

I'm not a fan of casual sex, but if I were, I wouldn't stop having sex with one woman so I can have it with another, I would simply do it with both at different opportunities, or at the same time when possible.

I don't think you realize the amount of effort involved in dating "up" for ANY man. For you, a woman, it's: "1. get in his contacts and 2. be available when he wants to bang."

For a man it's: "be fit, but not too fit, be charismatic, funny, have your shit together in business, have female friends, but not too many, be into sports, but not too much" - this is 60-80hr week to just stay at that level. Honestly I used to sell drugs. Like a lot of drugs. It started out as a way to pay for college then I lost my job. Then I was making more money selling on campus than I would be making with my degree.

Men date and sleep down. They're hypogynous. This is a result of natural selection. If women are hypergamous due to higher resource cost for reproduction (as they are), then men must be less sexually selective by default, or their lineage won't survive. This creates generations of selective pressure on men, which results in men valuing different traits more (and most traits less) compared to women.

Yes, because it's easy. You can get hot girls as a hot guy, but it takes effort, is "rare" and mostly for relationships. At least rare enough, that it doesn't satisfy a potentially long or short term phase of wanting lots of sexual partners for ego reasons.

Just a personal anecdote from yesterday: i matched with a woman i swiped, only looking at her first pic that was, well, not true to how she really looks. Noticed how she is really unattractive in her other pics and had an "eewww" reaction, and pretty much ruled out that i want to engage with her. But then she wrote me, quite enthusiastically, triggering my ego for feeling desired and i bit. Since she doesn't mean anything to me and losing her is low cost to the ego, i (and men in general i think) treated her quite cocky and directly in a sexual manner. She came back at me with being interested on fucking on a children's playground at night on a meetup in the next days.

It's free sex and it's even dark enough that i am not going to have to see too much of her. There was zero effort required, it will stroke my ego, there are no strings attached, it's naughty and now i am curious about it.

I (and most other men i think), will just take such an offer. Unattractive women know what they have to do to get attractive men to have sex with them. Be available, uncomplicated, direct and don't expect anything other than sex.

As you can see, half of the men have less than ~6 sexual partners over a lifetime. With 2-3 committed relationships on average, that leaves just about 3 casual sex partners over the course of ~80 years. Current generation men will either have slightly more, as they don't marry young and non-committed relationships are a thing. But might also have less, for the reasons often discussed in this sub.

Most men never have and never will have lots of casual sex partners.

(note: there are also men who actively don't want to have lots of sexual partners. Sociosexuality is the term to read up on here, besides asexuality).

Gonna assume this isn't a larp, although I'm not convinced. A lot of guys like curvy girls. And you aren't just your appearance, anyway. Maybe there are other things about you guys find attractive. I've met girls who maybe I wouldn't find sexy in a picture, but just had an energy — a way of carrying themselves — that was hot.

But in general, sex holds less risk for men. If there weren't so many guys who are complete psychos (and if so many of those psychos weren't fighting tooth and nail to erode the bodily autonomy of women) women would probably jump into bed more quickly.
